Tickle Me Tuesdays

Whipping things up and some early Valentine's Day laughs

Lately, I’ve been busy in whipping up some dishes in the kitchen. What did you think I was talking about? Ahh… you saw the word VALENTINE and assumed…okay enough of that already. Anyhow, over Christmas, I vowed to DH to use some of the left over ham to make a Ham & Cheese Quiche and so that’s what I did.  Using this recipe I found online I slightly modified it by adding a quarter cup each of peas and carrots.  Now, pie crust is my weakness meaning I’m not really good at it.  I’m getting better but this is going to take practice, practice, practice. In recent years I’ve made an all-butter pie crust for my pies at Thanksgiving. It’s tasty and I have the hang of it pretty well but my late MIL, the famous pie maker, used vegetable oil.  I’m sure that wasn’t always the case but anyhow, her pie crust never failed and the end results were a delight. I found online this Easy Oil Pie crust recipe and gave it a try. The results of my first in a long time quiche with oil pie crust turned out nicely and I’m anxious to make more pie dishes! What can I make next ?

What’s in the picture? ham & cheese quiche, sauteed spinach, and oven-fried potatoes.

Valentine’s Day is this Friday and it’s mid-month. Double YIKES,right? February is quickly slipping away. I know some don’t like this holiday but you can still enjoy chocolate and fancy unmentionables even if you aren’t sharing it with someone special, right? Being the sweetest purson you probably will meet today, then let me share some reasons to laugh this season of love.

This meme reminds me of a sappy, cute song that I love by Australian singer/actress, Lenka, “Heart Skips a Beat”.

5 Hershey’s Kisses equal 112 calories. That means you have to kiss for 17.5 minutes to burn it off. Sounds rather fun, don’t you think?

It’s time to grab a cup of coffee…don’t forget the chocolates, and follow along with me as I head off to visit Sandee for some Happy Tuesdays giggles at Comedy-Plus, then I’ll check out Random Tuesday Thoughts with Stacy Uncorked, and finishing things up by checking out this week’s word prompt found at Eugi’s Causerie for the wannabe poet buried inside.   That’s a wrap for now but come back tomorrow for Wild Wednesdays where just about anything goes! 😉

I would have loved that dinner. I love quiche.

Love all the funnies. The cat that removed all the chocolates to get in the box made me laugh out loud.

Time for me to grab my first cup of coffee too.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs. ♥

      Brian,

The quiche looked very good when it first came out of the oven. This is left-over, so it’s been heated twice by this point. It tasted good and that’s all that matters, right?

    Hi, Cathy!

Do you notice how the year is flying by? Mid February already? Soon it will be time for the A to Z marathon. Are you ready?

I enjoyed your assortment of music and merriment for the week of V-Day. I had no idea you are a whiz in the kitchen along with all your other talents. Had I been seated at your dinner table, I would surely have asked for a second helping of your ham & cheese quiche, sauteed spinach, and oven-fried potatoes meal.

Aussie artist Lenka is new to me and I enjoyed her cute song and dance on “Heart Skips A Beat,” a single from her 2011 album Two. Lenka’s voice is smooth like buttah, and she’s very easy on the eyes, not afraid to look feminine. You and I both appreciate women of her kind. I am astonished to read that Lenka has two children and turns age 42 next month!

It’s great news that smooching burns calories. Maybe I should change my evening workout routine. 🙂

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

I’m working on my art sketches for April and am having a ball doing them. I won’t give my theme away but I believe I already mentioned to you what I have planned. It’s a fun learning process and despite being an self-taught artist I doing alright. I wish I had the confidence years ago to enter college as an art major but that was the furthest thing from my mind. I only thought of a practical career choice. That being said, I don’t have any regrets. My path is where I was meant to go for me to get to this point to do what I love with passion.

I’m not sure that I’m a whiz in the kitchen but I do enjoy cooking. This is just another outlet for creativity and the old saying the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach is true. DH loves to be my official taste tester. 🙂

Yeah, tell Mrs. S that you need her participation in burning an extra 100 calories every day and that she can reap the same benefits. lol

Have an excellent day, my friend!
