I used the photograph of our hands together from our wedding in 1979 to add my poetic expressions left in comments on LaFotogria blog May 11, 2015.
I jotted the above poem in a blogger’s comments sometime in 2012 after seeing a photo prompt. I failed to make a note of where I left it but I kept the verse in Notes. It wasn’t until recently while going through my archived photos I found this entrance shot of Old Edwards Inn in Highlands North Carolina that I took June 2018
S-ART-urday photo-art & verse ‘Sweet Embrace’ creation for May 2, 2015

I wrote, Rise Up To Never Stay Down, on the 11th anniversary of 9/11. In the spring of the following year while on a day trip to Kentucky, we came upon this memorial built in the Veteran Cemetery in Radcliff with some of the steel beams from the World Trade Center.
Photograph taken in the Smoky Mountains community Cades Cove in 2012. The poem I penned, Autumn is Here and shared originally October 20, 211

These poems I have yet to match with one of my images to create a background to accompany my words but as I do you’ll find that I’ve added them above.

I agree, Cathy, you are using your blog hiatus time wisely. Going through old photo albums brings on such wonderful memories. Lovely verse, my friend, and thank you for joining in. 🧡 💛

      Eugenia,

Years ago, DH got me a scanner so that I might transfer my negatives to digital and I did get some done but life has a way of consuming one’s energies then before I knew it years passed. The job still not done and the scanner is obsolete. There’s not a driver for my Mac and I haven’t tried using it on our old Dell that now has Windows 10. Once DH returns to work and the spare bedroom is returned to its normal state then I will try using the Canon scanner that he got me to finish the job. Meanwhile, I keep going with the old photos. It’s not the best way but at least I am able to convert old memories to digital files.

Oh, but you are a poet and a good one, Cathy! “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ― Maya Angelou

Your poem is lovely and the photo from your 2004 Maine vacation is enchanting. Wow!

      Eugenia,

You’re way too kind. Perhaps, when the words spew more freely then I’ll feel more like a poet. I guess with continued exercises with your wonderful prompts then I’ll get better. I remember how hard it was for to take a stab at the first time. The good mews is I’m overwhelmed by the challenge, I just allow the inspiration to find its way to me. 🙂

No problem, Cathy! There are challenges I pass by because I can’t do all of them and some are not my cup of tea. I feel blogging should be fun and not work. ❤️

          Eugenia,

Often I love your prompts and think, “Boy, I sure hope something inspires me to write a verse using this word!” If it doesn’t come easy then I know it’s not meant to be and I’m okay with that. That being said, just allowing myself to try whenever the mood strikes is a big step for me when it comes to poetry considering I never thought of myself as poet. I’m finding that this side of me is a work in progress. 😉

Hi, Cathy! You don’t have to write a poem. It can be an image, music or anything that relates to the prompt. The idea is to inspire others to be creative and have fun. Several of my participants use music for the prompt. So, no worries. ❤️

“A Poet I am Not”? Nay, nay, dear friend. A poet you Are! You express yourself beautifully, Cathy. Your writings, together with the illustrations you choose, bring tears to my eyes and a lump to my throat. Good poetry does that. Thank you for sharing this page with me, dear friend Cathy!
