Monday's Music Moves Me

Shhh, someone I know is another year older!🤫

DH when he was about 2 years old. Aww Mondays hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

How was your weekend?  Ours was nice.  We celebrated early someone special’s 64th birthday. This week’s theme is in honor of that someone special.  Please build a playlist of songs spanning these decades 60s to 80s to commemorate the occasion.

My song set is a mix of song titles that make me think of that someone special.  Some of the titles tell you the name of the person, others tell you a little about the person, some are just for fun, and others are of his favorite oldie bands.

Tracks: 1. Celebration – Kool & the Gang 2. Rockin’ Robin – Michael Jackson 3. He’s So Shy – Pointer Sisters 4. Fly Robin Fly – Silver Connection 5. Saturday in the Park – Chicago 6. Old Days – Chicago 7. Hard Habit to Break – Chicago 8. Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is? – Chicago 9. If You Leave Me Now – Chicago 10. 25 or 6 to 4 – Chicago

Wasn’t that fun?  I love the sound of yesterday!

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain music (at least one song) or your URL is marked “No Music”.

4M co-hostess are now featured in my right side bar underneath the banner. The guidelines are simple.  Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you – your choice. To access the dance party, add your music post below and visit others on the floor.

I celebrated my special someone’s birthday this weekend with a vanilla buttercream frosted chocolate cake and my homemade sausage & onion pizza but not in that order. He had to have the sensible foods first.  I really know how to spoil the party, don’t I? lol   That’s a wrap for this time.  Enjoy your day.  Have a boogietasticweek!  X💋X💋, Cathy

Sparks that make life lighter and funnier – enjoy!

    Happy birthday, Robin.

What a fabulous playlist and dedication. Hope you guys had a blast, and please eat some cake for me, <3

    Kisses, sweet heart.

Thank you Natasha! You’re so sweet. Robin had a great birthday and doesn’t feel his age but don’t we all. Mentally I think I’m that 14 year old girl he once knew. The only difference is I have experience on my side to keep me along the way but am almost as silly. I guess that’s a good thing. 🙂

      • Natasha

200% a good thing. I’m that way too even though tipping the other side of 51 this month. :))

Love ya sweet pea. Hugs and Kisses

          Natasha,

I’m not too far behind DH. In December I’ll be 62. I think, how is that even possible. I remember when I was in my early 40s I’d get AARP fliers in the mail and I thought, I’m not a senior citizen yet. What’s wrong with these people? In truth, that’s the way the world sees a person as they pass certain birthday milestones. You can’t take the kid out of a person no matter how many years go by. 🙂

Happy Birthday to your Hubby. Sorry I am a little late. It has been crazy here. Thanks for hosting and I hope you are having a good week.

      Patrick,

We all have a life outside of Blogosphere. Don’t worry about it! This week has been busy but good. No complaints. Thanks for joining the party, my friendQ

      Lydia,

Silver Convention always sounded so light and airy. The only song I remember of theirs is “Fly Robin Fly”. I am going to have to visit YT to listen to more of their songs. I need a memory refresher. 🙂 Thanks for stopping to join the party, my friend! music

      Marie,

I’m sorry you didn’t have a good nights sleep. I’m sure you were in pain to begin with which caused the nightmares. I got outside to do some yard work yesterday and over did things a bit. I’m so sore this morning. I hope my body can work it out quickly. It’s no big deal to remove entries on the link up. I’ve made mistakes like that, too. Have a good day, darlin’

      John,

Yes, it’s DH’s birthday. 🙂 I had hoped the old photo of him when he was toddler would’ve clued everyone in but then I forgot to tell everyone who it is. lol Aren’t I the silly one?

Love Cool and the Gang. Celebration was on of my favorites back in the day. Great playlist.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Sandee,

You’re right DH is still a cutie pie. 😀 He really liked knowing I put him in the center of attention today on the dance floor. It’s not every day you turn 64. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by the party, my friend!

  • DrillerAA

Great playlist. Rockin’ Robin was one of my favorite tunes when it was first released by Bobby Day. You just can’t go wrong with Chicago, even though I leaned toward Blood, Sweat, and Tears when both bands were at the top of their game. That Aww Monday photo is priceless. Have a blessed week.

    • Cathy Kennedy

I like the original “Rockin’ Robin” but MJ’s cover is good, too. I went with it since it came out in the early 70s. Blood, Sweat, and Tears is a good band. I did a quick search learning that they still perform. I don’t know if it’s the original members or not but still that’s really cool! “Spinning Wheels” released in 1969, so it’s a great fit for this week’s theme. That being said, let me add it for a flashback memory for all to share. 😉

Thanks for joining the 4M party, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

Thank you, Mimi! DH had a nice birthday weekend and there’s even cake left over for him to have a piece today which is his actual birthday. I got so tickled when I saw the cheesecake meme. That’s one of DH’s favorite desserts!

  • Alana Mautone

So enjoyed your post, especially all the Chicago. A couple I haven’t heard in a long time, either. I knew all of the songs (hurrah). Fly Robin Fly was one of the highlights of 1975 for me, although I don’t remember it being so long. And speaking of robins, give yours a nice Happy Birthday greeting from me. My post will be up tomorrow. Alana ramblinwitham

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Alana,

“Fly Robin Fly” was a big song. Like you, it just doesn’t seem that long ago that it flew straight to the top of the chart where it stayed for three weeks. Lyrically speaking the song doesn’t have much content, but I guess it’s the disco beat that propelled it. Chicago was a great band back in its day. He spent many hours playing his drums to their music when we dated.

  • Debbie D.

Cute pic! Is that the birthday boy? 😀 ♫Happy Birthday, dear Robin♫ Your menu sounds delicious!

Fun playlist and the songs are all familiar. Wishing you an enjoyable week!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Debbie,

Yes, this is the birthday boy! I think he’s about 2 years old in the photo. Our son at this age was a carbon copy. We’d show him pictures of his dad and we’d say, “Who is this?” He’d say his name or point to himself. 😀 Thanks for the birthday wishes for my birthday boy. Have a boogietastic day, my friend. 😉
