Monday's Music Moves Me

Remedies for a happy life – music and laughs

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

Hello!  I hope y’all had a nice weekend. To help get you out of a dragging mode because let’s face it, we all are a little slower on Mondays, I think I have just the remedy.  Nothing can make a day better than music and laughs, so I’m giving you both in this edition for this week’s theme whatever music moves you.

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain music (at least one song) or your URL is marked “No Music”.

4M co-hostess are now featured in my right side bar underneath the banner. The guidelines are simple.  Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you – your choice. To access the dance party, add your music post below and visit others on the floor.

Recently, DH reminded me of Roy Clark.  I grew up watching him on Hee Haw. He played the guitar and banjo on the TV show but that’s really about all I remembered.  Mr. Clark was truly an amazing guitarist. Heck, he’s great on the banjo and fiddle, too! Anyway back to DH…he showed me a clip that not only showcased his talents but was absolutely hysterical to watch.  You may want to sit your coffee down before clicking play on Folsum Prison Blues.

The next YT video is made of several similar and including the one above.  It’s more than 20 minutes long, so if you don’t have time to watch it now then come back to it.  His facial expressions are so funny. He reminds me of Johnathan Winters.

My last selection Roy is pickin’ one I think I should know but it just doesn’t ring a bell. I had to share it for no other reason than love the song title, Guitar Boogie.

I can’t believe there’s only two days left in July. Gee, how did that happen?  Watch for my August 1st BOTB to go live.  😉  This is CAAC signing off, have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

I hated Hee-Haw but loved when he played. He is simply amazing!! I don’t know how his fingers can move so fast. He does look like Jonathan Winters and has the same type of expressions. It’s the last day of July…way too fast. Love those little puppies.

      Marie,

Hee-Haw was a show for the entire family. My folks and siblings loved crowding into the living room to watch the show together. It brings back fond memories. Thanks for joining the party, my dear.

Great spark for Monday. I am not familiar with Roy Clark’s music. Have a great week. XO

I remember Roy Clark from the Tonight Show. I never watched Hee Haw but , in watching the videos (I’ll have to save the middle one for another time) his talent is obvious. I read that he originally included comedy as a way to hide his shyness. Thank you for these selections!

      Alana,

Isn’t it interesting how performing pulls some people out of their shell? I didn’t know that Roy Clark was shy. You’d certainly know it by watching him. In watching various singing contests, we’ve seen a few amazing talents who spoke so softly because of shyness but on stage they blossomed. Some retro TV stations show old re-runs of Hee Haw. Every time, we drive pass a cornfield I’m always remember the skits from the show of cast members popping up and down amongst the corn reciting silly jokes. 🙂
