Winter Covered Bridge Procreate Sketch

In November, I shared this covered bridge with a fall backdrop and it was then I thought it would be fun to use the same design capturing the four seasons.  One of my goals this year is to be more creative.  I feel that I fell short in this area last year. I want to do more art either sketching or in the kitchen.  While, it might not be “art” I did make an appetizer for the first time in many years last weekend for NYE.

I can’t recall how I inherited the recipe but I suspect it was given to me by someone at a church related social gathering for Knorr Spinach Dip.   As I mentioned, it’s been a long while since I made it. Needless to say, we weren’t disappointed.  It’s very easy to fix and can be served with crackers, chips (potato and tortilla), or bread.  We prefer potato chips.  Happy eating!!

I’m thankful to see another new year come in, that I have good health on my side, most days filled with happiness, and plenty of love to keep me warm…which is really nice on cold winter nights. *giggles*

How about you, what are you thankful for?

I’ll be back with Monday’s Music Moves Me where you’ll find me boogieing on the dance floor.  If you have music to share or just a music lover then this is the party for you, so come join the fun. This is CAAC signing off,  have a doodletastic day! X💋, Cathy

While this is best suited for the Christmas season at least the image is, I couldn’t resist using it as it’s the perfect ambient music to unwind the mind allowing oneself a temporary break.

  1. I love your covered bridges! Oh spinach dip….I love making that in a bread bowl!!! ☺ PS: can’t seem to post comments on your older posts! The “leave a comment” widget doesn’t show up for me! But wanted to let you know that I read your posts! ♥

    1. Rain,

I have my posts set to turn off after 7 or 14 days. I can’t recall which now. The reason is, it’s the older posts that spammers tend to hit. Thankfully, WP is good about catching them and throwing them into my spam folder. Thanks for letting me know that you read my posts and I’m happy that you like my newest covered bridge. 🙂

      1. Knorrs has a great selection of items to add as sides to a meal or create dips, etc. The Spinach Dip sounds yummy.

  2. So glad you are back and just when I am about to take off. I hope you will still be here when I get back. I love your covered bridge. There is an area in Indiana where there are many covered bridges and I too a ride down there years ago and took many pictures. But, sadly that was before home computers and so far I have been unable to find them. I love your idea of showing it in all four seasons and how did you make your snow so convincingly real? I love the sound of your dip. Sadly my FH and I don’t go to parties anymore … that is not to say we couldn’t eat chips and dip on one of our own occasions … I am guessing I will give your dip a try 🙂 As for being thankful, it would take me all day to tell you all of the things I am thankful for, but for starters, like you, I am still in good health and that’s a big one at my age. My family, my few friends that are left, the opportunities I have to travel, my pets (the few that I have left) and my blogging friends. Those are what I can think of right off hand … needless to say there are more and I will be thinking of them all day, thanks to you 😛 Welcome back, Cathy …

    1. Andrea,

On our next New England trip, I hope to see some of the covered bridges in the area. There’s a covered bridge in one of the Smoky mountain foothills’ communities. We visited it once or twice but I never quite got the picture I wanted. Maybe, we can go back again before tourism turns into a three ring circus so I can get some good photos. You don’t have to go to a party to enjoy delicious snack foods. I think you and your husband will like the spinach dip.

Thank for saying the snow in my digital painting looks so real. I feel like I’m always learning how to make the Procreate app work to my advantage and am seeing small improvements all the time. I’m uncertain how frequently I will join the TAD but I hope I can do it more than last year. I’d like to try every other week or monthly until I can get back into the habit again. Life has a way of getting in the way. We have something coming up at the end of the month that will knock me off the blogging circuit for a couple of weeks. I hope that’s not a sign that this is going to be another crazy year for us. Oh well…I’ll just take everything in stride and do the best I can. 🙂 Happy adventures in your upcoming travels, dear friend! xo

  3. Nice drawing. I do a similar Knorr dip, but it is served warm. Spinach, sour cream, shredded cheddar and the Knorr vegetable soup mix. XO

    1. Mimi,

Cooking is creative work for which I’ve come to enjoy more and more over time This is one of the positive things to come out of Covid, getting me back in the kitchen to experiment and learn. Thanks for dropping by! 😉
