Headless Horseman #art & song by #KayStarr #RocktoberMusicFest #BoTB results

It’s once again time to display my weekly artwork. Rain’s Garden suggested LEGENDS to inspire our creativity. Here’s my take on the Headless Horseman.

I thought a cartoon effect was needed so I used Pixelmator Pro to add grain to my image.

Up until now the only Headless Horseman song I knew was that song by Bing Crosby from the 1949 Disney animation of Sleepy Hollow. It was fun to watch this with our kids on Halloween night. I wanted a rock cover but couldn’t find one I really liked a lot.  I’m going with a American jazz pop artist, Kay Starr singing, The Headless Horseman Song from the 1948 Halloween Stomp album (various artists).

I have one more order of business before I scat out the door which is to pass along the results of last week’s Spirit In The Sky #BoTB showdown between Mojo & the boogieman winning 5 votes and Party Crash Vikings taking the showdown with 7 votes.  It was a close battle.  Congrats to Party Crash Vikings!

I’ll be back on November 2nd for another battle showdown, so mark your calendar to join the party. Listen once more to the victors covering Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times”.

That’s a wrap for now but I leave you with a song selection of today’s showdown winner and I invite to visit JingleJangleJungle to join her rock party. It’s not too late! I’ll be back tomorrow with more mewsic and giggles. Until then….rock on, ghouls and guys! X💋X💋, Cathy

    Good, close Battle, CAThy!

The group I voted for did not win, but that never really bothers me. I’ve always been about the fun interactions, and the BOTB winners and losers were always just an afterthought (the vast majority of the time).

See ya at yer next Battle, my friend!

I was captivated by the Headless Horseman tale when I was a kid. Never heard that song though–not that I can recall at least.

You had a close Battle for sure! Kind of like my results.

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Rocktoberfest Thursday Art Date with Rain, dear friend!

I love your take on the mythical Headless Horseman! In your sketch the Horseman’s many faces including an evil looking face, a happy face and a sad face. I’m pleased that you have pop/jazz singer Kay Starr back on your blog to do another selection. Her version of “The Headless Horseman Song” is tunetastic! I am also happy to learn that Party Crash Vikings, the band I favored in your BOTB, pulled out a narrow victory. Congratulations on staging another tight battle, and thanks for posting another song by this fabulous band from Sweden. Lead zinger Rebecca Andersson has a beautiful voice and the duo makes compelling mewsic videos.

Thanks for the morning entertainment, dear friend Cathy, and have a boogietastic day!
