Friday Sillies

Who loves Fridays?

Feline Friday Sandee @Comedy Plus

May shot by like a speeding bullet and here we are on the last Friday of the month.   This weekend marks the unofficial start of summer but I’m here to tell ya it has felt like summer all week with temperature in the upper 80s and low 90s.   I think Mother Nature needs her HRT.  I’m not ready for it to be this hot, folks!  With the work week coming to an end, I’m ready to get this party on the road with some giggles.

Friendship Friday Ramona @Create with Joy

Ellen at 15andMeowing and Lorraine at Four-Legged Furballs share each Thursday four blank statements for us to copy and paste to create an entry for their Friday Friendly Fill-ins. Rounding things out this is how I filled in the blanks.

1. I wish most everything I see that interests me was as easy as it looks for others but it never isThe good thing is I don’t ever let the challenge no matter how difficult it is stop me from trying.  I only fail if I don’t attempt it.

2. My plans this weekend include enjoying stove-top hamburgers, oven fries, home-made vanilla ice cream and streaming some movies or episodes of our favorite TV seriesA weekend of relaxation sounds nice.

3. It’s hard to believe that the first five months are gone and it’s almost summer!  At the month’s end I’m always awed how fast it went and feel  a bit frustrated because we still haven’t found our new forever home.

4. I need to get serious with exercising in order to build my energy and strength.  I’ve allowed this pandemic to control me for too long!  There’s so many reasons to stay active but I want to have the stamina needed for our New England vacation later this summer if everything goes well or to help get is moved into our next place.  Which ever comes first, I need to be physically ready for the challenge.

Devil’s Courthouse along the North Carolina segment of the Blue Ridge Parkway taken last Friday with my iPhone. I find it difficult to join the Skywatch Friday community these days but I think it’s worth telling my photography buds about the weekly link up or for others who enjoy seeing beautiful sky views. Head over to see who’s taking part this week for Skywatch Friday!

This is my last full week for my regular scheduled blogging routine.  Starting Monday, I will roll over to my summer time schedule which pretty much means once a week.  I have plans to keep folks boogieing on the dance floor each Monday and I’ll roll out a Battle of the Bands at the beginning of the month.  Anything else I do will be frosting on the cake as the old saying goes.  To stay in the loop of what’s happening with me, I encourage you to join my email subscription for immediate notice of all new content that publishes.

I’ll close out things today with a song my pal, Mary, shared with me “Waiting for a Star to Fall” by Boy Meets Girl.  This is the only song they have on YouTube, so I’m not sure what’s up with that but anyhow, I hope you enjoyed the song.   Consider yourself invited to join me for your choice song picks on Monday’s Music Moves Me.   Have a funtastic Friday, dear friends! X💋X💋, Cathy

      Marie,

I’m sorry you’re having such difficulties. If you need for me to take a look at your WordPress blog then I’m happy to do it for you. Shoot me an email with the info and I’ll get straight on it in the morning. I know it’s all frustrating but I know you’ll get the hang of it. 😉 Thanks for dropping by to boogie with me, darlin’!

      Kathe,

Yep, it starts warming up in the south fairly early. I’m just glad we don’t live in Florida. Oh, my Cathy, that would be awful!

  • 15andmeowing

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Your weekend plans sound nice. I need to get exercising too. XO

  • Memories of Eric and Flynn

Thanks for the funnies! I don’t know about summer, spring hasn’t made much of an appearance and we are struggling to get to mid 50s. It is supposed to improve after the weekend though.

    • Cathy Kennedy

WOW, mid-50s! That is cool. Of course, I wouldn’t mind having temps like that for a few days right now. 🙂 Not to worry, I’m sure warmer temps are on their way to your neck of the woods. Have a good weekend! 😉

      Timmy,

Best of luck to the Dad. It pays to stay active. I really hate that I’ve allowed myself to fall into this slump but am working on fixing that problem. Have a good weekend, furriend!

My hand is up as I’m ready for Friday and the weekend.

Love your fill-ins and it’s getting hot here. Finally. Exercise is so important. Even if you just walk 20 minutes a day. No exercise and pretty soon you’ve health issues. I’ll be 70 in September. I know all the drawbacks of not exercising. Bugger.

Love the video. I’ve not heard that before. Very nice.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Love and hugs and welcome to the summer schedule. ♥

      Sandee,

That old saying, use it or you lose it true. I’ll be 60 in December. This is the longest period of inactivity I’ve had in years. I took yesterday off using the elliptical and I may do the same today because using it three days in a row was a bit much. My goal is relieve the pain while building my stamina not to set myself back. sigh I got a bit enthusiastic. Thanks for dropping by for a visit, my dear!

    Hi, Cathy!

I have come for a dose of Sillies, dear friend! Curious As a Cathy is the Paws that Refreshes. 🙂

I’m sure you realize that, if you are minding the heat in K-ville, we are baking down here in Florida. The lawns are parched and the sun keeps beating down. Please send rain a.s.a.p. I smiled at the money laundering and assault & battery meme. Good one! That short-legged puppy trying to climb the stairs is suitable for an Awww-some Monday post.

I enjoyed reading your Friday Friendly Fill-ins. Your recipe for a relaxing weekend sounds delightful and delicious. Yessum, the pandemic has made couch potatoes out of us. We need to get back in the game and resume our regular exercise programs. You can’t meet life’s challenges if you’re not in shape. Thanks for showing me Devil’s Courthouse along the BRP, one of the natural attractions Mrs S. and I missed during our visit to your region last year.

I’ll be with you during your scaled-back schedule this summer. I always look forward to your 4M Mondays and band battles. Wow – I really enjoyed the 1988 song and video by the Seattle-based pop-rock duo Boy Meets Girl. I am surprised I never heard of them because I read they wrote two of the biggest hits in pop music. Wiki sez: << The members of Boy Meets Girl, George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam, wrote and composed a number of songs for other artists. Most famous are their two number one hits written for Whitney Houston, “How Will I Know” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)”. >> “Waiting For A Star To Fall” is the duo’s biggest hit to date. The song was inspired by seeing an actual falling star while attending a Whitney Houston concert in LA.

Thanks for the mewsical introduction and Friday giggles, dear friend Cathy. Have a safe and happy weekend!

      Tom,

I did think about you and other Floridians suffering from the early onset of summer. We’re expecting some thunderstorms this afternoon and the rain is suppose to stay with us into the morning. We had hoped to do some yard work which it really needs but if the grass is wet then that will make things difficult.

We hiked the Devil’s Courthouse trail many years ago. I can’t recall how long it is but it’s not super long and it only gets a bit steep and quite narrow toward the last little bit but there’s no worry of falling over the mountain, though.

Thanks for stopping by for the laughs, music, and more. Try to stay cool this weekend and get a lot R&R in, my friend.
