Wordless Wednesday

Wally World or Bust #WW

Welcome Kittens & Dawgs!  I’m chillaxing this summer.  No worries or hurries to get things done except what I want to do.  You might find me sharing photos but it may not be weekly so I don’t have plans to have linky.  We were shopping at Walmart on Parkside Drive last weekend when to our delight the Griswold-mobile stopped near our car.  What fun!

Read Dave Moore’s reason behind this crazy fun, here.

Wally World or Bust!

We knew whoever was behind the wheel had to be a good person and after talking wiht you last Sunday you confirmed our suspicions.  Thank you and God bless, Mr. Moore for making us smile every time we see you driving your pea-green Griswold wagon!

I’ll see you on the dance floor with Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me.  Have a safe and fun summer,  y’all!

X💋X💋,

Cathy

      Patrick,

Yep, the song and car are cool! We haven’t watched “National Lampoon Vacation” for a long time but we make sure to include “Christmas Vacation” in our holiday movie watching every year.

What a delightful story! That car will brighten anyone’s day, I’m sure. Great concept, Dave Moore! 😀 Sounds like you’re enjoying your summer, Cathy. Cheers!

      Debbie,

Yep, that silly car does brighten one’s day at first sight! Mr. Moore has a good heart. Thanks for visiting, I’ll be by tomorrow. 😉

Love the Vacation movies…they are so funny and this guy is a treat to deck out this car in this manner. Glad you talked with this nice man

      Birgit,

Yeah, we were glad we got a chance to speak with Mr. Moore, too. For years, we heard about him in town but it wasn’t until the last couple of years we actually spotted him so it was nice to talk with him. He’s doing a good service melting stress (and so much more) in people’s lives driving the Griswold-mobile around town!

    Hi Cathy,
I’m not familiar with your first song (this is me). I guess I totally missed the instructions (posting the song in sign and then not)…but I don’t get why we were supposed to do it that way?? Oh well, I didn’t.
We both used the same Happy video. That’s a fun one…and a fun song.

I voted for the winner in your battle…but I almost voted for Donny & Marie…

Hope you’re having a good week.
Me? I’m tired. Heading for the shower and then to bed. It’s not even dark yet! 🙂

      Michele,

Had I not read the theme more clearly I almost did the same thing. lol So, no worries for not selecting the non-signed videos. 🙂 Have a good weekend, my friend!

    Hi, CATHY. It’s that me!

I’m not sure if I’ve ever even seen ‘Christmas Vacation’. I know I saw that first “Vacation” movie once — the one where they’re going to Wally World — but not sure about the Christmas themed one.

Nevertheless, I like Moore’s idea. And his Southern bona fides were certainly established when, in that video, he said people “have their picture made”. I’ve never known anyone except true Southerners who say “picture made” rather than “picture taken”.

Thanks for sharing that, Cathy, my friend! 🙂

      Stephen,

Christmas Vacation is a family tradition at our house. I highly recommend you watch it! You know I never thought about that expression but I used both expressions. I generally used ‘picture taken’. I grew up in southern WV and been in Tennessee most of my life. Have a good weekend. 🙂

      Ellen,

Yeah, I know! It’s a blast to see and every time I do it puts me in the mood to watch one of the Vacation movies or it leaves “Holiday Roads” or “Christmas Vacation” theme songs playing in my head for days. 😀

What an,,,an interesting idea–kind of weird, but fun. He should be driving that wagon in parades and going to fairs. Probably has to stay off of the higher speed roads so that he’s not spewing stuff off of the car. The world can always use more silliness to lighted our life loads.

      Lee,

When I first saw this car it wasn’t nearly as silly looking as it is now but that’s part of its charm. I have seen the car on the interstate but it doesn’t have near the stuff strapped to it as in this picture. I don’t know if he takes stuff off to accommodate his travel plans but it would make sense that he does. Mr. Moore has a good, good heart. He genuinely wants to melt a person’s cares while promoting a harmonic atmosphere for us to be kind to one another. It’s a simple thing to do yet our society has lost its way to this basic.

      Jacqui,

Our school system returns on August 10th. They seem to start back earlier each year. Who can think about school in August? That’s just too crazy! Enjoy your time off while you can. It’s quickly slipping away. 😉

    Hi, Cathy!

That wacky car, outfitted by owner Dave Moore of East Tennessee to resemble the Family Truckster from the film National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, is a hoot! What a great way to spread cheer all year long. I’m glad you had a chance to chat with Dave there in the parking lot. The Lindsey Buckingham song “Holiday Road,” used in the opening title sequence from the movie that started it all, National Lampoon’s Vacation, has to be one of the best known of all movie themes, and that vehicle, I suspect, is just as recognizable as the car from Back To The Future.

Thank you very much for the fun post, dear friend Cathy, and enjoy the rest of your week! (I am trying to publish my comments from my new blog. The last time my comment disappeared and that is why I needed to go to my old account and publish it a second time. Please be patient with me as I work this out.) 🙂

      Tom,

Yeah, I’d say you’re right about the recognizableness of the vehicles from the “Vacation” film and “Back to the Future” series. You left two identical comments. This one you’re using your google sign-in info. The other you used just an email address. It was sitting in my Spam folder for moderation which I approved before noticing this comment. 🙂 So, if a comment disappears that’s what happened. Would you like for me to delete the other one or do prefer to use that sign-in information for all future comments? I’m begining to suspect that WP needs to see at least one that’s been approved so it doesn’t think it’s Spam or maybe not. Perhaps the real problem is WP is a woman! lol No worries about things, you aren’t bothering me at all while you figure these things out.
