Skywatch Friday

The Christmas Inn Day/Night SWF Views + CTST Vol. 3

iPhone5s capture

Hello, Kittens and Dawgs! In December I showed you a photo-edited night shot of The Christmas Inn.  This is really a beautiful place.  The display in front of the inn is gorgeous. Do you see the polar bears and swan?  I shot the above picture the day after Christmas when we were in the Smoky’s.  The shot isn’t the best as it’s taken through my car window as we passed.

What I hadn’t realized until I altered the exposure on a few of my night shots that you can see the polar bear.

If you didn’t know what it is or have poor eyesight then the polar bear looks like a bright white light on these images.  Photo editing is such a God send for all photographers but especially amateurs, like me, who can’t part with their work because it’s not completely a lost cause. 🙂

I’ll be sharing today’s pix with my fellow photo enthusiasts at Skywatch Friday and you’re invited to join the fun.

Aside from celebrating photo editing programs, my list of Celebrate The Small Things include…

  • I’m celebrating that DD#1 finally got a new phone. The other night, I got a call from an unknown number but thankfully the caller left a message and as it turned out DD#1 finally got a new phone. Hooray! 🙂
  • I’m celebrating DH new work schedule having every other Friday off and this will be his first, so I’m anxious for the weather to coöperate with the hopes of doing something fun with my sweetie-pie!
  • I’m celebrating the continuation and good progress of fixing broken links and grammar in old blog posts. It’s slow going but I’m getting a little done each day.

What are you celebrating?

See what others are celebrating this week and if you want to join the linky, then visit Lexa for details!

Tomorrow, I invite you to join me for some social media fun and your weekly dose of laughter with Friday Sillies.

Those are some nice decorations. I love places that decorate for Christmas.

I have been on a 9/80 schedule for several years now where I got every other Friday off and I love it!! It makes for some long days but it is worth it.

The inn is gorgeous! At first glance (probably because of the season), it appeared a bit creepy but glance #2 had me wanting to take a vacation there myself. Congrats to your daughter’s new phone and DHs Friday’s off!

I love the Tudor style and that inn is so awesome! It looks like it should be a movie set as a creepy old mansion that’s haunted! I think the pic came out well, though your husband could have stopped to let you take it properly. Yay for your daughter’s new phone, and I hope you have a great weekend!

Lexa, DH asked if I wanted him to stop but because my ear was bothering me and it was windy o told him that I didn’t. The inn really isn’t creepy. The gray sky gives that illusion. Thanks for popping over! ?

I love these photos and I do see the polar bear and the swan. The Christmas lights are so pretty. This looks like a wonderful place to stay and possibly neat to go an roam about too.

I love when I spot unexpected things in my photos! How fun that they named the Inn, the Christmas Inn! Did you actually stay here during December?

    Hi, Cathy!

I appreciate you bringing us postcards from your travels through the Smokies. Over the years you and DH have visited dozens of small towns and villages. You have captured for us in pictures the magic they offer to people who are tired of the usual tourist destinations and traffic jams and desire a different type of experience – the peace and solitude to be found off the beaten path in a natural setting. Those night images are keepers. It is amazing what you can do with today’s technology to turn ordinary shots into works of art.

It is indeed a blessing that DH will have every other Friday off. That way the two of you can make plans for long weekends of adventure exploring the mountains to your east.

Have a fine Thursday, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,
It does my heart good to hear that you and others enjoy my little photo journals. The foothill towns, especially Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge can get rather congested at certain peaks but the good news there are a lot of times when it’s not bad. Hopefully, you and the Mrs. Shady will get a chance to visit some of these places for yourself. We are looking forward to DH’s new schedule. His last two places he worked, he did this kind of schedule and we loved it. The long weekend is extra nice! Thank you for visiting today and I hope you have a good day, too!

Lee, I feel very much the same as you about celebrating life and the blessings DH and I are given each day. God is always good to us. I’m thankful He sees us through the storms and fills our world with rainbows. 🙂 Have an awesome day and weekend, my friend!
