Monday's Music Moves Me

Thankful for my Family and Friends

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

November is almost gone.  Our girl, Marie from XmasDolly, did a stellar job on this month’s themes and she’s closing it out with one more theme suggestion.   She wants us to build our music around “thankful songs”.

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain at least one song or your URL is marked “No Music”.

4M co-hostess are featured in my right side bar underneath the banner. The guidelines are simple.  Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you (your choice)! To access the party, add your music post below and visit others on the dance floor. Let the party begin!

I found inspiration thinking on my Nov. 1st BOTB to put my mind in the general direction.

I’ve Got Plenty To Be Thankful For.  I’m thankful to God for His marvelous creation in giving mankind this beautiful … Wonderful World.  I’m thankful for Calvary where Jesus Paid It All.  I’m thankful for my mom, my dad (who’s now in heaven), my brothers, sister, DH, my daughters, my son, my son-to-be, two darling grandkids, and all of my in-laws living and no longer with us – We Are Family.  I’m thankful for my blogging friends who mean so much to me, You’re My Best Friend(s)!

I hope you enjoyed my music.  As we say goodbye to November, I’m excited to look toward the new month.  Decembers on the 4M dance floor is always special. Our general theme is centered around Christmas music.  This year, I  opted to throw in a couple of theme suggestions for anyone needing a nudge.  I’ll be back on Friday with my first BOTB of the new month, so please join me in the fun. This is CAAC signing off,  have a boogietasticweek!  X💋X💋, Cathy

I am thankful for your friendship, too. Speaking from experience (over many years; the last one in 2018) my Mom died in November, my mother in law the day after Thanksgiving, my father in law in his sleep Christmas night), that first year after each death was hard. Do what you need to do, not what others expect you to do. Take good care of yourself. It will get better on its own schedule. Alana ramblinwitham

      Alana,

Good advice and I hope to do just that, do what I need. I won’t be any good to anyone including my budsin Blogosphere if I don’t take time for myself. Thanks for being such a dear friend! xo

        Birgit,

Yes bittersweet memories for the holidays. I’m taking it one step at a time. I know Daddy isn’t suffering and is at peace with my brother, grandparents, and so many other family members. Blessings to you, dear friend! xo

      Natasha,

Thank you, Sweetie! My blog door is open anytime for you to come sit awhile with me. Yes, I’m very happy that Marie has found herself back to the dance floor on a regular basis again. She loves it! Enjoy life’s blessings big and small, darlin’!

      Patrick,

I figured “We Are Family” would be used by someone else. It’s probably one of the first song titles most thought about with this week’s theme. Thanks for joining the party, my friend!

    Hi, Cathy!

I’m back on the blog circuit today and tomorrow, dear friend, and glad I didn’t miss your special Thanksgiving salute to friends and family. As I listened to Bing, it occurred to me that the crooner’s voice gave every song he sang a gentle “massage.” That’s how I would describe the way he made every note, every syllable count. What a joy to hear his rich voice again, especially during the holidays. I am sure I have told you over the years that the song “What A Wonderful World” carries special meaning for me. It was one of the primary “anchor songs” of our NLP motivational seminar series, and I used Armstrong’s rendition in the culminating scenes of a 60-minute documentary video that I produced. I think I have also shared with you that I went to see Sister Sledge perform on the grandstand at the York Interstate Fair in September of 1979. The sister act had the whole audience singing along as they did their biggest hit “We Are Family.” The vocal harmonies of the Indiana-based Redeemed Quartet soothed my soul. Thanks for introducing them!

Have a wonderful week and December until I see you again. I hope the new baby is doing AOK. I wish you and your ever-expanding family health, happiness and many blessings as we prepare to bring November 2023 to a close and launch into the Christmas season. As we do, I am truly thankful for your ongoing friendship, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

I’m so happy you stopped in for a visit and some music. I do remember some of the events you mentioned. Your life has certainly been an interesting one. I love when share your experiences. Bing Crosby had such a soothing voice and one I’ve come depended on hearing especially at Christmas. The holidays just wouldn’t be the same without the warmth of his buttery vocals. We’re doing well and had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our son, his wife, and new grandson. Have a joyful time celebrating the Christmas festivities, my friend!

Although, I don’t have furries of my own I am thankful for good friends like you who share their furbabies with me. Animals are sweet creatures that add a lot of joy to our lives. 🙂

Awesome, awesome, awesome selection. I found these guys earlier this year and I love the pure country/bluegrass in their work. There is indeed so much to be thankful for. The holidays help me focus on my faith, family, friends, and making memories. Have a blessed week.

Like you, I find myself reflecting on my faith, family, and friends frequently throughout the holiday season. This year, my mind drifts a lot to those who are no longer with us. Thank you for your friendship and for joining the party!
