This month, I’m sharing a Christmas song a day and although Christmas Day is now past, I’m finishing up the challenge I started. In the Crosswalk article, I mentioned in a previous post, I found a Christmas carol based on poem from 1872 surrounding the birth, life, and second coming of Christ. It wasn’t until the early part of the 20th century that the song was set to music. I was moved by Susan Boyle’s lovely rendition and wish to share it with you now. I give you, In the Bleak Midwinter!
Don’t worry about commenting. There’s no worries or fuss or strings attached, simply a moment for you to refresh your body and mind. 😉
Let me do a quick mention of my last BOTB on the 15th. It would’ve been a total blow out had it not been for the few individuals who voted against the grain in this round. That being said the results aren’t going to come as a shock that the winner of Cool Yule Showdown was Colin James with a 11 to 2 victory. I think I was bit surprised at how this went down. I liked both artists quite well but I might’ve enjoyed Setzer a smidge more and I even listened to his entire Christmas album at YouTube. I made a comment to DH how much I liked it and wouldn’t you know the boy got me the digital album. Whoo-hoo!
Alrighty this is how the votes stacked up. Patrick and Driller’s Place tossed their ballots in the hat for Brian Setzer. Thanks boys for keeping this showdown from being a total blow out! Myke Todd, Stephen, Birgit, Mimi, Brian, Lee, John, Debbie, Sandee, Eugenia, & Tom ensured Colin James victory. I appreciate everyone who took part in this Battle of the Bands. My next showdown is scheduled for January 1st, so don’t miss it!
I’ll be here with bells on tomorrow morning with another Christmas song to start your day. Allow yourself time to enjoy the last few days of the holidays without anymore fuss. Reflect on the beauty of the season with your favorite hot beverage and think about the wonderful things to come in the new year. X💋X💋, Cathy
