Monday's Music Moves Me

Summer Vacation Music and Jul 1st BOTB Results

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

In today’s post, I’m sharing the outcome of my July 1st BOTB but I’ll get to that at the end.  For now, it’s time for Monday’s Music Moves Me! Robin from SongbirdsCrazyWorld pitched this week’s theme.  She suggested that we share songs about anything relating to summer vacation – destination, activity, transportation, etc.

Vacations are few and far between but when we do take one, we always travel by car. That’s the direction I went with in building my 10-song playlist. Come on baby, Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car (Billy Ocean), I’ll turn up the volume on the Radio (Lana Del Rey) and we’ll have a good time!

Traveling by Car playlist: 1. Drive My Car (The Beatles) 2. On The Road Again (The Lovin’ Spoonful) 3. Two of Us (The Beatles) 4. Stickshifts and Safetybelts (Cake) 5. On My Way (Styx) 6. The Passenger (Iggy Pop) 7. Midnight Rider (The Allman Brothers Band) 8. I Drove All Night (Roy Orbison) 9. I Can’t Drive 55 (Sammy Hagar) 10. Drivin’ (The Kinks)

This is a music link up.  Hence, your post must contain music (at least one song) or your URL is marked “No Music”. The party co-hostess are now featured in my right side bar underneath the 4M banner. The guidelines are simple.  Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you – your choice. Finally, to access the dance party, just add your music post below, and visit others on the floor. Let the party begin!

That was a fine drive for a vacation, CK. The songs were very inspiring and Roy Orbison, his voice touched my heart again. What a great singer he was. We could drive endless with him…oh…and with you of course😸Sorry we haven’t been around to participate, but we were very busy with Angel Binky’s remembrance post, as it has been 1 year on her passing and that was heavy for Granny and on top she had a bad toothache, that the dentist had to remove today…still hurting though…The video of the doggies made her feel definitely better and listening to the mewsic also. Hope to be around again soon! Double Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞

I used to enjoy compiling road trip playlists. Now I just let them evolve as we drive. Although my wife mostly prefers listening to talk radio and that’s okay with me too.

Nice outcome though I think my pick should have come out on top.

I have my results up now. Finally.

Love the car washing pups. Adorable.

Love the theme and your take on the theme. It’s perfect.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs, Cathy. ♥

Our vacations are by car also, and this was a nice driving set. I never knew that Siouxie and the Banshees “The Passenger” was a cover. You included the Iggy Pop original. Several of the other songs were new to me, too, including the Roy Orbison song and the Cake song. Enjoyable. Alana ramblinwitham

    We like to drive, too.

Funny commercial and a very true Spark today.

By the way, i thought i voted in the battle, i must have not hit enter or the internet ate my vote. I’ll try to make sure it posts next time.

      Mimi,

You can’t know for sure with the way things work in Blogosphere. There have been times I know for fact I entered a comment and it just goes somewhere in cyberspace but not where it’s suppose to. It just vanishes! Thanks for dropping by!

    CAThy ~

That’s a nice turnout when one does a 3-Way Battle and all 3 contestants score at least one vote.

I was on the winning side this time (that’s not zactly a common occurrence).

    As for that TV commercial:
That car wash is gonna need bigger dogs (to borrow a line from ‘Jaws’). They should hang a sign out that says, “Only Great Danes and Saint Bernards need apply.”

I like her voice better than the original for Sweet Child. I’m glad she won. Love that commercial..very cute and funny. I enjoyed your musical fest. I will put my thinking cap on but I have a song that popped I to my head right away.

The doggie commercial is adorable! 😃 And I love your road trip playlist, too. That was a decisive victory for F211. They are good. Congrats!
