Christmas Music Marathon

Joseph’s Song

We’re now in the post Christmas season. I hope y’all had a wonderful time celebrating with family.  I will continue to carry the torch the rest of the month sharing festive sounds of Christmas and I hope you’ll join me until the end.

Michael Card first came to my attention in 1988 after DD#1’s birth. Somehow I came to own his Sleep Sound in Jesus (YT playlist) CD which I love. If you’re looking for sweet lullaby for your baby then that’s the one to get. Anywho, in my song-a-day quest I came across this Christmas song by Card, ‘Joseph’s Song’.

As the holiday season unwinds, I don’t want to stress over multiple posts but want to keep my participation in place with Thursday Art Date with Rain. Her prompt today is Merry Christmas.

We have 364 days to wait until next Christmas but it doesn’t have to be one day a year. With Jesus it’s an every day event right inside your heart. Share the Christmas spirit with another person each day because you don’t know what that person is going through and that joy might be what they need to get through another day. So, please don’t be quick to judge. Pause before speaking. Take a meal to an elderly or sick neighbor or help a new mother with a package of diapers, set out her trash, or pick up the mail. They are oodles of ways to give to others with little to no expense, just an act of kindness is all it takes sometimes.

Hi Cathy 🙂 🙂 Your drawing is very cute, I love the bow, thanks for finding time to join in! I love your posts! 🙂 And yes, a little bit of generosity in all its forms is so special this time of year, and all year round! We are still digesting lol…

In many traditions, Advent is over and the Christmas season is now here until Epiphany/Kings’ Day, on January 6. No matter how you plan to celebrate, thank you for all the lovely music you’ve posted.

Michael Card is a wonderful artist when one wants peaceful reflective music. He first came to my attention somewhere in the latter eighties and I have several cassettes and a couple of CD’s by him. I went to see him in concert back then in Dallas I think it was. It was a nice musical experience.

      John,

You’re not kidding. Joseph had to be a special man. Of course, God knew this ahead of time and I’m sure this played in His decision making when He picked Mary to be Jesus’ mother. I can’t even imagine what either of them went through. Things were so different in those early years. Thanks for visiting, my friend!

      Christine,

You’re right, it’s easy to be kind. The problem is many don’t want to make that effort which is so sad. Let’s stand committed to sharing our kindness with others to light the world!

Hi Cathy! I’m sure you’re sad Christmas is over, but the next one is already on it’s way. Thanks for sharing the beautiful art and music. Have a great day! Hugs, Valerie

      Valerie,

The sadness isn’t too awful. I’m accepting the end of the season but as you said it’s on its way again and we know how fast the days zip by,don’t we? 😀

    Hi, Cathy!

Mrs. Shady and I crisscrossed the state yet again and had Christmas celebrations in two different cities. Once again we are living out of suitcases, cartons and bags and I am using the borrowed laptop. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas.

I admire your illustration of bells, red ribbon and cheery banner with hints of ornaments in the background. I especially appreciate your reminder to “walk a mile in my shoes” and suggestions of things we can all do to foster goodwill and promote peace on earth. Committing random acts of kindness and helping others through their challenging days builds our own self esteem. Imagine the extent to which society could be transformed if we wrote and spoke to each other in a kinder, more respectful manner in spite of our differences. It would surely work miracles.

Thank you for this inspiring holiday message, dear friend Cathy, and enjoy the rest of your week!

      Tom,

I’m sorry for the inconveniences of your current living environment but soon things will have order again once your new home is setup. I can’t even imagine moving three times in such a short period as y’all have and I know when we do make that move to our dream home someday that it will be a huge undertaking. I’m sure you have a wealth of excellent tips and advice that you can toss this way when that said time arrives at our door. 🙂

The world would be forever changed if we treated others with more kindness. Unfortunately, not everyone has the good grace or judgement to not speak or act without allowing circumstances to color their words or attitude. We all fall short sometimes but sadly our society as a whole seem to not care to want to make things better even because that takes selflessness. I don’t see a lot of that going on. sigh All it takes is one person to lead by example for another to adopt the same way of thinking and so forth. While there’s hope, we need to try to change tomorrow. Have you for taking time to visit, dear friend!

Ahh, thanks Binky! I was MIA in Blogosphere yesterday and I don’t know how much I’ll get accomplish online today but will attempt to catch up a bit. We had a lovely quiet Christmas at home which was nice.
