Cathy Chats,  Get To Know Me (g2km)

g2km part 5: Questions 61-70 #CathyChats

Good-morning, kittens & dawgs! YouTube reminded me of the supergroup Blind Faith under recommended mewsic. Have you heard of them? I tripped over this band composed of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood, and Ric Grech last November while composing my 4M post with Presence of the Lord.  Enjoy the YouTube playlist (not all songs are by the band) share while you read today’s g2km answers!

61.  Do you have any allergies? I have mild allergies to some foods which does not keep me from eating the offenders. The most aggrevating allergies are pollen, mold, and dust. Three things I just can’t seem to escape no matter what time of the year it is.
62.  Do you have any birthmarks? If so, where? Yes, I have a small place, along with two smaller skin tags on the inside of my left leg just above my knee. It always makes me think of Panda Bear face for some reason.
63.  Do you hold any convictions that you would be willing to die for? My faith in Christ is my strongest conviction. Hopefully, I’ll never be placed in a situation where my faith puts my life on the line but I’m willing to die for Jesus. He died for me.
64.  Do you prefer kissing or cuddling? I love to cuddle and kiss, so why do I need to choose? I pick both!
65.  What piece of technology can you not live without? Internet technology. Having the ability to consult an enormous data base such as Google for information is a time saver and the conveniece of buying online beats shopping in retail stores, as well it provides a great way to stay connected with friends/family and do fun stuff like blogging or other social networking.
66.  What was the first concert you ever attended?  I answered this question some years ago, here, and I’m not sure if this qualifies but the first concert I went to was a contemporary Christian performance, Sammy Hall, who once was the vocalist for a popular 60s rock group, The Birdwatchers, from Florida. What’s interesting is Sammy Hall lived in Sevierville TN at that time and I had no clue where that was until after we settled into the area.  Sadly, while pulling this post together I learned Hall passed away in June 2013.  My life was in upheavel April – June of the same year due a severe gastrointestinal problems. Anywho, while listening to some of Hall’s mewsic this one brought back memories of that concert.

67.  What was your favorite subject in High School? Naturally, Art was my favorite high school class. 🙂
68.  What was your first job?  Patricia (sadly, she no longer blogs) asked this question in one of her chit chat on a farmhouse porch years ago but if you don’t have time to filter through that post, then I did janitoral work in Junior High for a short period, maybe for a semester. It felt much longer but then time seemed to stand still when I was a kid.
69.  What was your least favorite subject in High School? Math. Anything having to do with logic didn’t make a lot of sense.
70. What is your most commonly used swear word? I don’t swear often and when I do it’s usually under my breathe.  I think the use of inappropriate words is not  necessary and certainly isn’t a good example for others, so I’m going leave it at that. 😉

It’s a blessing that i outgrew a lot of my allergies. Sweetie has allergies and has started his annual sneezing fits.

Our faith is worth dying for. We are blessed to live where we do, one thing i mention in prayer every week at Bible study is how grateful i am that we can come to church without worry that we will be stopped, or followed, or harrassed by the government. Many believers around the world have to hide their faith, and i try to remember them each day.

      Mimi,

Some people do outgrow allergies but I went the opposite direction. I didn’t have them and developed them over the years. DH and I both suffer from pollen, dust, grass, tree, and mold allergies with the later being a hotbed for both of us. Every time it rains the mold level rises and we both react to it. Usually, I’m all headachy but this time it tore my stomach up badly. You’re right, we are blessed that we can worship freely but things are changing. Have you ever noticed it’s not Christians who complain about other practicing religions but it’s those people who are offended by Christianity? *roll eyes* Like you, I try to pray for those in government oppressed countries who can not openly worship God. Have a good day!

I don’t have any allergies, thank goodness. I agree with your view on swearing. I don’t do it either and when I do, the kids and husband go running because they know I am MAD. My least favorite subject was math as well. My favorite, history or English (not the diagramming sentences part, the reading books part). My first job – page in the local library. Thanks for sharing your answers, Cathy! One of these days I’m going to get around to doing one of these on my blog!

What a fun Q&A. Love your answers too. I’m new here and learning more about you is a good thing. I do know that I love what I know about you.

Have a fabulous day, Cathy. ♥

Allergies suck and I am glad I don’t have anything too bad all I take is reaction and that helps but I know many who suffer through. I’m with you kissing and cuddling..I will never think one is without the other and I agree with you on math…hated it!! I never took art in high school because I was too scared I would get bullied even more so I kept my love of art to myself. I have a birthmark just above my butt…stupid place really. I would fight for my freedom which I think is not unusual given both my parents. I grew up on a sawmill so I worked around the house, bookkeeping and in the mill but only if they were short of men but I did tail end the saw a couple of times, helped take bark off wood that was going to Greece and helped organizing the lumber from Select down to pallet grade. My favourite memories was going with my dad Into the Bush and helping him scale the logs. He would measure and I would mark it with a red crayon so he knew it was done. As for swear words…you remind me of my mom who despised it, I am a bit like Carole Lombard…I have a bit of a potty mouth but only when I know I am alone or in the company of people who don’t mind.

      Birgit,

Thanks for sharing yourself with me. You get browny points for knowing when to not use profanity. I find many people today do not respect these bounds. A swear word here and there doesn’t nearly bother me but when that’s all that comes out of person’s mouth then it makes me uncomfortable.

Nice to learn more about you. You may want to try allergy shots, they work. I am allergic to pollen, mold and cats. I have been getting the shots for a year and a half and they definitely work. Have a great day!
