Monday's Music Moves Me

Everybody Needs a (Super)Hero

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus

How was your weekend? On Friday, we went to Clingmans Dome in the Smoky’s.  This is the first time since pre-Covid for us to actually hike to the summit tower and we had a gorgeous day to do it!

Not a cloud in the sky!

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me!  This week’s theme is whatever music moves you!   Sometime ago, I borrowed an idea from our friend, Alana at RamblinwithAM to build a playlist around my favorite superheroes with the prospect of using it to honor those in service to others or those who have served in the military.  Veterans Day is this coming Saturday, so that’s where I’m going today!

For November, Marie, is our honorary co-hostess.  Her weekly prompts are listed on my 2023 4M Prompts Page.

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain at least one song or your URL is marked “No Music”.

4M co-hostess are featured in my right side bar underneath the banner. The guidelines are simple.  Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. YouTube and other music sites have options to create and embed playlists or individual songs into your post. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you (your choice)! To access the party, add your music post below, and visit others on the dance floor. Let the party begin!

As a kid, I enjoyed TV shows like Batman and Superman. Over the years, we’ve watched several superhero films but truly never fell into the genre like die-hard fans.  I created a playlist using the search criteria superhero.  I found playlists with songs from movies and song titles that worked.  I picked the ones that instantly clicked with me.

Superheroes playlist tracks: 1. Born For This – The Score 2. Live to Rise – Soundgarden 3. Hero – Alan Walker & Sloan 4. Immortals – Fall Out Boy 5. Something Just Like This – The Chainsmokers & Coldplay 6. Let Me Be Your Superhero – Smash Into Pieces 7. Face to Face – Siousie and the Banshees 8. Believer – Imagine Dragons 9. I Just Wanna Run – The Downtown Fiction 10. Superheroes – The Script

Brave men and women who protected our freedom aren’t superheroes.  They don’t live forever nor do they don’t have super powers, but  they’re all heart making them a very special kind of hero in my opinion.  Thank you for your service!

The 2024 4M calendar is pretty much wild open for y’all to suggest music themes in the new year.  You don’t have to commit to the co-hosting gig for a month unless that’s what you want to do.  Credit will be given regardless to you if you submit an idea(s).  Send anything you have via email!

Mid week, I’ll have the outcome of last week’s BOTB so watch for that news coming up next!  This is CAAC signing off,  have a boogietasticweek!  X💋X💋, Cathy

Beautiful view from your hike and nice playlist! (Thanks for the shout out, too). I am a Siouxie and the Banshees fan but had never heard this particular song. The weather this week has been so variable this week. When I was young I would have distracted myself indoors witha superheroes comic or two. I read a lot of them! It’s strange, though, that I’ve seen almost none of the movies. Just the original Superman movie and the original Captain America movie and possibly the first Batman movie. I have a lot of catching up to do! My favorites? Siouxie and the Banshees (of course) and the last song. My father was a veteran of the Army Air Corp during WWII and his youngest sister was a WAVE. My husband is also a veteran (Air Force). Maybe they weren’t super but they certainly, like your Dad, were heroes, all in their own ways. Alana ramblinwitham

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy paw-some 4M Monday, dear friend! Mrs. Shady and I had a nice weekend gazing at the autumn splendor that surrounds us. The leaves are starting to fade and drop off the trees now, and I am looking forward to what comes next. Bring it on!

Awww… I like the sketch of the cute little critter bracing against the strong north wind and getting showered with falling leaves. As a boy, I used to love running across the lawn, diving through the air and landing atop a pile of fallen leaves. It was natural, no-tech fun at it’s best. I wonder if kids still do that.

I am also elated to know that you and DH made it over to the Smokys and followed my footsteps up the steep trail to the top of Clingman Dome. You did indeed pick a perfect day and were afforded a much better view than we had when we visited at the end of August in 2020. It’s spectacular! I’m going to share that pic with Mrs. Shady and show her what we missed.

I enjoyed your superhero play list. As a faithful follower of superhero TV series in recent years, I see many familiar faces including Batman, Superman and Shady’s Place presenters Supergirl (Kara Danvers,) The Flash (Barry Allen) and Green Arrow (Oliver Queen). I love Sasha Sloan’s vocal on “Hero.” I enjoyed the video clips in “I Just Wanna Run” showing scenes from The Flash over the years and characters I know and love including Dr. Wells and Shady’s Place presenter Cisco Ramon.

Thank you for dedicating this post to the men and women who proudly serve and sacrifice. Last time I checked, you had another evenly balanced band battle in progress. Although I am now resuming inactive blogger status and going back off the grid until late this month, I will check back mid week to find out if my team won. I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’ll reconnect with you here in Bloggyland when I publish my next post right after the holiday. Blessings to you, dear friend Cathy!

Superhero movies can be fun, but you have to be in the mood for them. I prefer the DC ones to Marvel, well, except for Iron Man. He’s very cool! 😀 Your point about who the true superheroes are is spot on! My father was in the army and a Korean War veteran, so I appreciate that, especially. As for the playlist – it was so entertaining! My favourites are LIVE TO RISE (2) and BELIEVER (8). Have a wonderful week! 🙂

Awww, what a cute bear. It’s chilly outside indeed. So precious.

Love that view. I would love to see that in person.

    Love your playlist.
