Christmas Music Marathon

Day 22 : S.a.D I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

Christmas greetings!  For the month of December, I plan to share a Christmas song each day with the hope of adding a little extra cheer to your holiday.  Part of my challenge in this series is to bring to you a new-to-me song or artist discoveries.  There’s no telling what song pick I’ll go with but you’ll find artists from all genres celebrating in song this almost magical, holy season.

Taking another page from those forgotten UK Christmas songs, I stumbled upon one from the 70s by British glam rock band that escapes my memory assuming that is they ever registered there to start with called  Wizzard.  Although the band doesn’t jingle in bells in my head, I found it interesting to learn the group’s frontman, Roy Wood, was a founding member of one of my all-time favorite bands, ELO.  Join me now for the #4 UK single from December 1973, I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday!

Don’t even worry with leaving a comment. This is for your enjoyment.  There’s no worries or fuss or strings attached. Simply a moment for you to unwind and refresh your mind and body. 😉

I’ll be here with bells on tomorrow morning with another Christmas song waiting to start your day and please don’t let the hustle of the holiday weigh you down.  The holiday festivities are beautiful and fun but the true reason warms the heart better than these earthly things. Take time to bask in God’s great love.   It’s the most wonderful time of the year! X💋X💋, Cathy

As much fun as Christmas is, it’s nice to have Advent, then the 12 Days of Christmas, and then move on to other celebrations like our Mardi Gras season. Each in their own time keeps them special.

I love the video. I can’t believe it’s Christmas on Saturday. This year has sped by.

Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

This one escapes my memory as well. Christmas every day? The spirit maybe, but not all the hustle-bustle and rigmarole. Sans Covid nonsense I’d likely be in much more of a Christmas spirit. This year I’m just not feeling it.

But Happy Christmas to you and your family!

      Lee,

Definitely the mood of Christmas, not the craziness, should be with us every day. I’m sorry you’re not feeling the Christmas spirit because of all the mental clutter brought on by the global health crisis. There will always be something that can potential pull us down. I choose to focus on the positive. Jesus’ birth and all of my blessings in general. That’s the only things that keep my spirits lifted. I know this will all pass in time. I pray God gives you the boost of Christmas cheer that you need just now to feel the celebration, my friend!

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Wild, Wacky and Almost Wordless Wednesday and Day 22 of the S. a. D., dear friend!

Like you, I don’t remember the UK glam rock band Wizzard. They’re a little scary looking, in my opinion, and their sound seems to imitate that of Phil Spector’s Wall-of-Sound. I checked my source and discovered that Wizzard released four singles in the U.S., all during the year 1973, including this seasonal recording “I Wish It Could Be Christmas” issued at the end of the year and backed by “Rock And Roll Winter.” Some of their other released song titles are as strange as the look of the band itself. They include “Ball Park Incident,””The Carlsberg Special (Pianos Demolished Phone 021 373 4472),” “Angel Fingers (A Teen Ballad),” “Bend Over Beethoven” and “Rattlesnake Roll.” None of the band’s singles charted here in the states.

Thanks for the introduction to this odd looking, long lost UK band, dear friend Cathy. Enjoy the rest of your week!

      Tom,

Thanks for dropping by on this chilly December morning. Our temps dropped just below freezing last night and while it’s not going to get out of the 40s today the sun is shinning. I’m happy to have reintroduced Wizzards and I appreciated reading about your discoveries of the band. Have a holly jolly Christmas, dear friend!
