Battle of the Bands

You Know My Name BoTB Results

Honestly, I didn’t know if I’d get a chance to pull the results post together from last week’s BOTB, but I have a few minutes to spare and thought let’s do this thing.  The battle turned out to be closer than I first thought.  Vinyl Hotel stayed a head of Liza Summer for a brief time before things ping ponged between the two until finally Vinyl Hotel got ahead by 2 votes to take the victory in this showdown with a 7 to 5.

I’m sorry for giving you such a skinny battle showdown reveal.  I’m finally on the home stretch to getting things done that’s kept me preoccupied all summer.  How about another music sample by today’s winner? Here’s Vinyl Hotel with a different arrangement of an old classic, Born to Be Wild!

For more songs similar to this you want to listen to Vinyl Hotel’s entire album playlist.  Special thanks to everyone for participating and picking today’s winner.  Mark your calendar to join me for my October 1st BOTB showdown. Don’t forget each week, I co-host the best dance party right here and you’re always invited to swing by to boogie with me in the Sunday edition of Monday’s Music Moves Me.  This is CAAC signing off, have a great September!

    CAThy ~

A 7-5 final tally? Good Battle, m’Dear! I would happily accept an outcome like that every single BOTB installment.

And, what the hey?! The one I boted for won. That doesn’t happen too often!

Stay cool, and I’ll be back to check out your next offering on October 1st.

That was a well matched Battle. Good outcome!

I like their version of “Born to Be Wild”. Talk about making a song the artist’s!

    Hi, Cathy!

Thanks for reporting the final tally of your latest 007 band battle, dear friend!

On day one, I could sense that I was on the losing team this time, but I’m happy to know that the contest remained too close to call until the very end. I don’t know what to make of Vinyl Hotel’s subdued acoustic version of “Born To Be Wild.” The smooth, clean vocal stands in sharp, jarring contrast to gravel-voiced John Kay who sang the original version of the rough and rowdy biker anthem. The Vinyl Hotel style seems a better fit on their cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time”:

Yessum, I’ll check out your 4M this Sunday. Enjoy your September break, dear friend Cathy!
