#AtoZChallenge UPDATE Little Mermaid Character Sketches now ‘in living color – Chef Louis & Max

Most of my summer days I spent running various errands going to doctor appointments. At times, I went with DH, then I always had my iPad in hand to catch up colorizing my A2Z Little Mermaid sketches. So, today I’m sharing two of my ‘in living color’ Procreate drawings.

The first do-over is Chef Louis.  The effect used for the color fill-in is mainly Bonobo Chalk and 2B Compressed charcoals.

Next is the royal pet, Max.  Adding color to this sketch really made it come to life.  The Procreate sketch is a mixture of effects but primarily a crayon texture for the color fill.

Should I feel inspired then tomorrow join me for Thursday Art Date with Rain.  Have a blessed day!

Sorry, I’m always late for everything. Heck, ask any of my doctors! hahaha Boy Kat, you have the Royal Pet, Max down to a T. It’s right on the money… PERFECT! GREAT JOB! I don’t know why you don’t try to do something from home. Send a email or get a job from home doing same. Awesome!!! Have a great day my friend! You so deserve it! Big hugs!

      Marie,

No worries, my darlin’! Thank you for your sweet compliments. Right now, doodling is all in fun. I think anyone who earns money doing this are people who create their own original works and right now I’m a do copy-Cathys of images I see or at the very least draw inspiration from what I spot. Maybe someday I’ll have my own original designs worthy to do more with other than to hang on these virtual walls of my site. 😉

    Hi, Cathy!

I have a brief window before the madness begins anew this morning. Mrs. S and I have been working day and night since last weekend helping family members move and get settled in their new home in another city. We have a few more things to do today before leaving and going home. However I will be home only one week before needing to return to this city and staying here until sometime in early October. As a consequence my blogging visits might become sporadic during these periods when I am away from home, and I ask that you continue to bear with me.

I am delighted to see the transformation in your Little Mermaid characters from black and white to outta sight (in living color). I well remember Louis and Max from your A to Z run. The year 2019 has passed swiftly and yet, somehow, April, the month of the yearly Challenge, seems like a long time ago to me. Do you experience the same phenomenon?

If all goes according to plan, I will be back at my desk at home tomorrow morning. I look forward to your Thursday Art Date with Rain. Until then have a wonderful Almost Wordless Wednesday, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

Please, you don’t have to worry about popping in to visit when your time is so pressed. I totally understand, so relax and take care of your family’s business at hand. I do appreciate the gesture, though. 🙂 Oh yeah, I’m with you on the whole time thingy. April was five months ago but it seems like it was just yesterday. That really messes with the head, doesn’t it? Thank you for kind words of praise on my artwork enhancements. Procreate is such a fun digital tool for quick do-over art illustrations where I can erase multiple times without alarm and re-sketch, add color and texture, and more. Very cool way to create. I do have a contribution to share on Rain’s art date. Be well and thank you for your dedicated commitment with your frequent and wonderful visits, dear friend!
