Tickle Me Tuesdays

A few laughs, cute t-shirt design & bday greetings for LA, dental woes, and Tuesday 4 Q&A

How’s everyone been while I was away?  The next time I go on any kind of vacation or hiatus I think I will definitely make sure to not schedule any posts in advance.  It’s not fair to y’all because there is no way that I can get back to every person properly. I’ve tried in the past and I will do my best this time but I’m fairly confident that I’ll fail at playing catch up. With that, let me say I’m sorry in advance.

I haven’t painted designs on tee shirts in years. It was a lot of fun to do this one for my little granddaughter. I got the idea for the design many years ago.  In recent weeks I looking through some images on my old Motorola Razr cell phone when I was reminded of the sweatshirt design I made for DS’s long distance girl friend which I thought would be adorable for our little angel. I first started by sketching the design on my iPad.

Next, I bought a pack of three Garanimals long sleeve shirts from Walmart and Tulip fabric paint brush pens from Amazon.  The end results was an adorable little shirt that my daughter loved. She says she’ll treasure it always which is bigger than any payday I ever got.

Fall has really made its presence known.  The past couple of nights have been freezing and I mean literally with our temps dropping right at or below 32ºF.  That’s cold, people!

It looks like November is going to be super busy for us.  The first few days into our staycation, DH informed me he has a cracked tooth.  *roll eyes* Poor fella has had so much trouble with his teeth in the past ten years.  He’s constantly saying if only I had listened to my parents.  We all thought we knew more than our parents but the older we realize the smarter they become to us.  lol  Luckily, he got a quick appointment with our dentist. The good news is there was no cavity but the bad mews is that the questionable tooth along with several others are in the same condition.  He had two teeth side by side prepared for crowns. He has temporaries in place and will get the permanent ones on the 17th.  We’re waiting to see how the insurance pays. This will determine how we precede with getting a few more taken care of either now or wait until next year.

Speaking of dental appointments, I have one later today. I’m having two old crowns and possibly amalgam fillings replaced.  Often times my mouth is irritated around my dental crowns and for years it’s concerned me what the mercury in my teeth might be doing to my health.  Perhaps, this is the reason I’m having issues relating to my muscles, joints, and nerves.  This is going to take a few years to get done but at least I’m on the right road finally.

Today, I’m joining Tuesday 4.

  1. Share a story of your school days that you think may have helped shape who you are today. Honestly, I can’t say that my school days actually shaped me. It was the important people in my life, family and DH, I contribute with helping shape me into the person I am today. The advice and encouragement I received over the years is invaluable!
  2. Did you have a favorite teacher and what made them special to you?  I had two favorite grammar school teachers. My first grade teacher, Mrs. Holly and my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Cantrell.  Both ladies were gentle and kind with their students.
  3. Did you enjoy the rituals of school.. new clothing, pencils, notebooks, etc.? Dah…yeah! I, especially loved getting a giant box of crayons. There’s something really special about seeing rows of beautiful colorful, unused crayons!
  4. Did you walk to school or ride the bus? Do you have a story to share on that?  My first four years, I walked to school. Those early years the elementary school was just across the river from my childhood home.  By grade 5, a few local schools consolidated into one at the nearby junior high where I spent grades 5-9. This naturally meant I took the bus.

It’s time to grab a cup of coffee and follow along with me as I head off to visit Sandee @Comedy-Plus for some Happy Tuesdays giggles, then I’ll check in with Stacy for Random Tuesday Thoughts, and finish things up with Eugi’s Causerie for her weekly word prompt for the wannabe poet inside.

That’s a wrap for now but come back tomorrow for Wild Wednesdays where just about anything goes! 😉

Love the funnies and I had to laugh about the crowns. I have a temporary that was put in yesterday and on the 17th the new crown goes in. Looks like we’re doing the same thing. Got to take care of our teeth.

Angelina is adorable. Love the shirt and love your card. You’re so talented.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

I hope you had. Nice time off. Don’t worry about trying to visit because it becomes too overwhelming. I love the t shirt you made for that little cutie and she seems to like it. I am so glad to be out of school because I hated it. I was severely bullied…not just name calling but spit upon and told to hide my ugly face. Laughed at whenever I questioned the teacher on something. Tripped, constantly told I was worthless. Sandwiches and milk spilled on me so I ended up always eating my lunch ina secret place which I loved actually. I was threatened once by being picked up by my throat so my feet were off the floor and told that when I amalone they will slice my throat from ear to ear. Every year my mom took me to emergency for my right hand because they always tried to break it. Due to my disease, I couldn’t break a bone but it was severely sprained and my fingers were so swollen. Finally, one gal tried to convince me that I was so worthless I might as well kill myself because everyone would be better off. For all of that, it made me stronger as a person and I know I can handle major strife. I did love my music teacher who knew something was wrong and kept me after class and tried to get me to talk. His caring made a strong impression in me. The other was my one math teacher who really took the time to help me understand math and when the brats snickered at me, he got so angry at them and told them off that they piped right down and never bothered me in class again. I got a B in that class.

Great come back post. LA is a doll for sure and gets to wear grams designs. Ohh the dentist jokes, I have to call my dentist today, a filling fell out of my tooth. Now this terrifies me to no end. Having someone that close and in my mouth with covid around. YIKES.

Thank you so much for the giggles! And please, no one can fulfill all of the obligations of every day and still read and respond to everything on the internet, there aren’t enough hours in the day. Give yourself amnesty from having to answer everyone who leaves a comment on your blog when you are on vacation, please. Everyone has been there and gets it.
