Welcome to Mondays Mewsic Moves Me on Sunday! Tomorrow is the last Monday in March which brings us to the end of the line for another month. I can use this to my benefit and am inspired to create a playlist for ‘your choice song picks‘ week with tunes featuring ‘line’ in the title.
It’s the END OF THE LINE (Traveling Wilburys) for another month. There have been times when I felt like I was WALKING ON A THIN LINE (Huey Lewis & the News) when it comes to my days’ spent in Blogosphere. My virtual and physical worlds sometimes felt like BLURRED LINES (Robin Thicke) as I prepared for the upcoming A2Z Challenge while maintaining scheduled post. I found at times that I reminisced of days gone by with long-distance communication relying on a TELEPHONE LINE (ELO) to connect me with friends and family. This has since been replaced with the Internet and cell towers. It’s difficult to GET BACK IN LINE (The Kinks) on the creative train when my I pawse too long and I’m cutting it RIGHT DOWN THE LINE (BONNIE RAITT) to get things done. However, I know I have to HOLD THE LINE (Toto) to get both worlds in PARALLEL LINES (Joss Stone) so that I’m not LIVING ON A THIN LINE (The Kinks) as I reach THE END OF THE LINE (Air Supply) for this month.
On behalf of the 4M gang, I want to say thank you to this month’s honorary co-host, Patrick, for bringing creativity and fun to the dance floor. 👏 Okay, guys, you’re invited to join the greatest Blogosphere dance party by hitting the floor!
🎶 This is a mewsic linky party, all other posts are subjected for removal or labeled – NO MUSIC! 🎶
[tweetthis]Hit the #MondaysMusicMovesMe dance floor with me! @xmasdolly [/tweetthis]
Progress in the A2Z blogfest prep continues to go well with three-fourths of the alphabet swept under the rug. Did you catch my Theme Reveal last Monday? I hope you can make time to be a part of my journey each day in April. It’s a rewarding and busy time but it drives me to do more like help promote a friend’s new book, Survival of the Fittest or report the outcome of my latest BoTB showdown. I’m boogieing over to see you soon, so keep those tunes playing and your body swaying!
X💋X💋, Cathy

We love this song, CK, with this song the end of the line is the purrfect beginning of a new line 😉 Great choise! The quote is just what we needed right now. ♪♫♪Thank you for the music♪♫♪ See you next week. Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead🐾😽💞
It’s always lovely to see such an angel as you spinning and twirling on the dance floor. Thanks for boogieing with me!
last quote is so right on- do not sweat the small stuff!
Kathe,
While I know the quote is right, sometimes doing just that is the hardest thing to do. 🙂
Think how many of the Traveling Wilburys we have lost now… That’s what happens when you age – your childhood and early adult favorites start to pass.
Alex,
Yep, the longer you live to more people you see exit this life. Our time will come to do the same one day. Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, my friend!
Fun theme today, Cathy! I really enjoyed how you put it all together. Today, I’m barely hanging on to the line and I feel like I’m several hours behind schedule. But – on the brighter side – I only have 5 more posts to write and I’ll have all my posts done for 2 blogs in the AtoZ.
Mary,
You amaze me. I can’t believe you’ve nearly pulled together everything for the A2Z blogfest for two blogs. Who am I to complain? Shame on me, right? 🙂 Way to go!!
Very cool. I loved the Wilburys. They were such a classic. Very nice.
Patrick, yes they are and I’m so glad that one of my blog chums introduced this group to me. Thanks for the dance!
I see Alana already talked about Gerry Rafferty’s original “Right Down The Line,” so I won’t bring it up again.
That “End of the Line” video by the Traveling Wilburys is kind of sad, in a way. First you have the chair with Roy Orbison’s guitar on it (I think he died before the album came out), then you realize that George Harrison and Tom Petty are gone, too.
Good set here!
John,
The Traveling Wilburys mewsic vid is a bit sad with Orbison’s presence lacking but it was nice how they included the memory of him in it and like you said, you soon realize that these two band members Harrison & Petty are no longer with us. Death is a journey we all will take one day if the Lord doesn’t come back before that time. Some are blessed with long lives and others are cut way too short. Of course, age is a relative thing so now when someone passes close to my age, I’m like that’s not very old! Here’s to good health and a very long life to each of us!
That last quote is great! My mom has a hard time living that way, but my sister Bailie kind of forces her to be that way at times which is good.
Well good for Bailie! We all need reminders to lighten up. 🙂
Happy Monday! Know that i will be in line when April comes to enjoy your A to Z!
Mimi,
I sure hope I’m in line, too. 🙂
How about “Right Down the Line” by Gerry Rafferty, which is now attempting to become an earworm? I knew some of the songs, including the first Kinks song – I saw online that it was played a lot on the Sopranos but that show is so long ago now. Nice theme!
Alana,
Okay, you started it, so I’m sharing your earworm here to infect others. 🙂
This is a great song and one I’d forgotten about. I’m sure I came across when I was doing my research but I don’t think I actually listened to it which I’m currently doing as I reply.
I have to admit, there is nothing better than the Traveling Wilburys. What a great cooperative effort by some musical legends. Thanks for the reminder of great tunes and artists from days gone bye. Have a blessed week.
Driller,
I never knew who the Traveling Wilburys were until a few years ago. I think it was either Lee from Tossing It Out or Stephen BoTB manager mentioned them. I didn’t even know what a supergroup was until that time. lol
VERY clever post Cathy, I really enjoyed it and recognized MOST of the songs you talked about!!! 🙂
Rain,
I had fun bringing these song titles together as a playset as well as describe my life in general lately. Thanks for joining me on the dance floor, my friend!
Nice choice, I like The Traveling Wilburys. I can’t believe how quickly the month went by.
Ellen,
You and me both, Sista! The year is really evaporating.
HOLY COWS! Girlfriend, you have outdone yourself once again!!! hmmmm, can you do that??? Oh well, ROCK ON, ROCK ON, ROCK ON AND SHAAAAA ZAMMMM! Girl, how you keep rockin’ like this every week is totally beyond me! You’re good mama and thanks for the boogie!!! woo hoo! Gonna have to say ol’ Johnny Cash is my favorite today!!! I haven’t heard this one in like forever!!! He’s got everything like he sangin’ bout!!!!
Marie,
‘Shazam’…brings a smile to my face as it pulls me back in time to the days of watching The Andy Griffin or Gomer Pyle USMC. 🙂 Thanks for boogieing with me, girlfriend.
That’s a lot of lines. Cool.
The kitty is adorable. It’s playing the music of its people.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect day and weekend, Cathy. Big hug and lots of love. ♥
Sandee,
So happy you joined me on the dance floor and thank you for adding me your weekly meme. That’s right my little kitty is tickling the ivory for this dance party!
Who knew there were that many ‘line’ songs! And I know a lot of them!
Jacqui,
Yep, it surprised me, too.
Wowsa, Cathy! Your line lineup is definitely in line! 🙂
Eugenia,
I’m glad something is in line. My brain keeps stepping out of line. 🙂
WOW, you sure lined everything up just right!
Brian,
I tried anyhow. lol
Happy 4M Monday, Cathy! I really liked “Weird Al” Yankovic’s parody of Blurred Lines, Word Crimes. It is really interesting and educational!
I also love HOLD THE LINE by Toto. Thanks for the line-inspired songs!
Amy,
Weird Al is always lots of fun and his ‘Word Crimes’ is a great parody. Thanks for the share & reminder of his good sense of humor through mewsic!
Hi, Cathy!
Happy 4M Monday on Sunday on SATURDAY, dear friend, and let me be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas! 🙂 I’m going to follow your lead and start posting Wordless Wednesday the previous Friday. 🙂
This is an exceptionally good set of songs with the word “Line” in the title as we approach the end of the line for the month of March and get set for “April Madness.” 🙂 I have already completed my brackets for the big event and I predict that you will emerge the A to Z Grand Champion based on your endearing artwork and pleasing personality. 🙂
I appreciated your narrative as you introduced these “Line” songs. Most are are familiar to me, and it was great hearing them again as I sipped my first coffee of the morning. It’s hard to imagine another supergroup like the British–American dream team Traveling Wilburys, and sad to note that three of its five members are dead. Roy Orbison died months after the act was formed. It has been many years since I listened to “Walking on a Thin Line,” the last and least successful single released from the hit album Sports by Huey Lewis & The News. The band’s four previous singles all went top 10 and our MTV inspired station played their quirky videos heavily. “Blurred Lines” is a modern day monster of a hit, better known to members of the younger generation than any of the other “Line” songs, I would wager. I bought the single of ELO’s “Telephone Line” on green vinyl during my record collecting days. Surprisingly I was not familiar with either of the songs by The Kinks and I thank you for presenting them. I loved the song by Bonnie Raitt and the performance video that went with it. The band Toto always reminds me of my dog of the same name. Mrs. Shady and I lost our pet in the summer of 2013. I forget if it was you or another friend who recently introduced me to English blue-eyed soul singer Joss Stone. I like her style on “Parallel Lines,” a promotional single from the 2009 album Colour Me Free!
Two other hit “Line” songs popped into my mind and I would like to share them with you.
“I Got A Line On You” – Spirit (1969)
“Rock Island Line” – Johnny Cash (1957)
Thank you very much, dear friend Cathy, and have a tunetastic weekend!
Tom,
I goofed with this scheduled post pushing it live on Saturday accidentally instead of Sunday. This prompted me to check next week’s 4M post which I did the same thing (a day early) and fixed it. When I noticed it on Saturday I just decided to let it stand and hoped no one minded my mistake too much. Oh silly me, right? 🙂 You’re right April will usher in a fun kind of chaos in my life and many others participating in the A2Z challenge and before May rolls in I’ll be checking my sanity meter. 🙂 I’m delighted you enjoyed my ‘End of the line’ playlist and happy I was able to introduce you to two new tracks. Your song shares are new-to-me. ‘Rock Island Line’ released before I was born so I understand why this one might escape me but Spirit’s ‘I Got A Line On You’ came out 8 years after my birth, so I’m not sure why this didn’t ever show up on my radar. Oh well…the beauty of blogging is I’m always learning something new from good friends like you. 🙂
