Monday's Music Moves Me

Sweating to the Beat on 4M

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me 124th edition. This week’s theme is Music to exercise to“.

I don’t know why it is, but every time I think of exercising then Olivia Newton-John pops into my head.

Frankly, the physical activity Olivia is singing about will certainly pump up your adrenaline, but I don’t know what the over all effect will be when it comes to weighing in.  This may need lengthy investigation on my part before I can recommend this rigorous, but fun physical activity to you, my faithful and loyal friends. Ahem…where was I? Oh yes, let’s get physical as we kick this party off.

Shape Magazine has some of the coolest sounding workout tunes to turn up the heat in your step. I thought I’d check out their 50 Best Workout Songs for 2012 to see which ones meet my grade of approval.

I have featured this song a few times over the past year. It came to no real surprise to see it made the list and definitely gets my A.OK rating.

Another song I find infectious to the point of I gotta get up and boogie making the cut is, Glad You Came.

Green Day use to be regularly heard floating through the house when my daughters lived at home, but these days not so much. Their music is dance worthy and this one doesn’t disappoint.

Here’s another group, Linkin Park, which rattled the windows of this ole house with a new song to put the groove in my workout routine with Burn It Down.

I’m not a fan of Pitbull, but I do love (figuratively speaking) Jennifer Lopez and this single has the beat which gets me on my feet and ready to Dance Again!

Here is a techno piece which sounds vaguely familiar, but I don’t know if I’m getting it mixed up with another song. In any case, this song will have you up dancing. You can’t help yourself. Go ahead and try to resist. I dare you!

Tell me, did this give you your mojo back or what to get into the best shape you can possible be in this New Year? I’m sure fired up!
