You’re Fired!

Have you been given a pink slip?  Has your boss given you the ole boot out the company door?  It’s not much fun.  However, hearing “You’re fired!” is not as devastating, if you are watching season 11 of  The Celebrity Apprentice.

Donald Trump has a way of rocking the show with his presence in the boardroom.  This year’s celebrity line-up includes a cast of familiar names and faces.  I am sure it’ll be entertaining.  What’s particular fun is watching the men because they really know how to have a good time doing their assignment, unlike the women who usually are back biting or nagging.

Last night, we saw the first casualty of the show.

Star Jones (formerly on the View) was Task Manager for the gals and Richard Hatch (Survivor reality show villain) for the guys.  The project was to run a pizzeria raising money for the celebrities favorite charity.

Star was playing for The American Heart Association.  A charity literally dear to her heart, as she had open heart surgery several months ago.  Hatch played for his cause Grass Roots Soccer.

Hatch immediately lost favor with me from the get-go.  Arrogance may work in the jungles where survival is intuitive or even as an executive of a Fortune 500 company, but not for raising money for your charity.  Star Jones didn’t evoke an emotional connection in me. I wasn’t wild about nor did I dislike her.  She was simply alright.

The  most entertaining person was Gary Busey(Actor) as the Pepperoni Profit. He dressed crazy, he acted crazy, and he screamed crazy to drum in the business for the men. You can watch the entire episode of the Celebrity Apprentice by clicking here.  You’ll find it on the right side-bar of NBC website.

On the women’s side, the entertainment was lacking.  The women had a little fun kneading the pizza dough.  Lisa Rinna (Actress) commented how it reminded her of breast implants.  She should know, right?  I’ll be sure to remember that the next time I make yeast rolls as I work the dough, how about you?

Dionne Warwick having trouble manning the cash register and credit card machine was a bit frustrating to watch with the line, backing out the door.

Nikki Taylor proved to be more than just a ‘pretty face with legs’ on Sunday night’s première.  A Mom of 16 years, the Super Model seemed comfortable in the kitchen while the newly discovered talented pizzeria chef worked.

A little bickering between the gals over Star’s lack of not rolling up her sleeves to do some stuff in the kitchen became mildly heated, but the show is just getting started. There will be more sparks to come from the women as the show progresses, you can mark my word.

What outraged me the most in the whole episode is how Hatch’s domineering presence cast David Cassidy physically and literally ignored the singer. Can a reality show star not be more polished than this?  It humiliated Cassidy and torched Jose Canseco (Baseball Legion).

The men failed to win the task raising far less than the women did.  Hatch brought into the boardroom with him Cassidy and Canseco.  This was totally predictable.  The reason for his decision was Canseco did not bring in any money and Cassidy was difficult to manage.  What wasn’t as predictable was how it went down in the boardroom.  I was hoping, but not quite certain Hatch would get the hatchet, but it didn’t fall that way.  Hatch had made an enemy of nearly everyone on the men’s team.  In fact, several of the guys when asked by Trump who should be fired, they  unanimously agreed Hatch.  In the end, Cassidy’s low-keyed personality played against him and viewed as the one least passionate to remain as a contender.  The first to go on this season’s Celebrity Apprentice was Cassidy hearing those fateful words, “You’re fired!” So long teen heart-throb!

Watch The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC at 9pm(EST) each Sunday night.  Tune in this week to see what happens!

@Just Another Hat..you’re absolutely right, a celebrity being fired from this reality show isn’t like getting dumbed from a ‘real’ job. I know what it’s like to be fired and it’s not fun. It’s gut wrenching, especially when you didn’t deserve it. Thankfully this kind of firing is simply entertaining. I appreciate your stopping by and following where new friends are always welcome! =D

I have never been fired, but then again, my previous jobs have all been internship type things with a specified time frame. I know that reality tv is really not reality, but it seems pretty accurate for these people. Good luck to them all.

Thanks for stopping by; following you back.
