WW: Summertime fun

Summertime fun contribution joins Skywatch Friday photo enthusiasts from around the world.  (Nikon D7000 with attached 18-105mm Nikkor lens)

I captured this image in July 2012 after I got my big girl camera. I altered the photo using Fotor editor applying the horizontal tilt-shift effect taking the eye to the kayaks across the water.

Another of my firsts is this close up shot….

Interesting Fotor effects, I’m considering downloading it. Does it have any drawbacks? I grew up swimming in many natural bodies of water, now we occasionally swim in a lake, it does sometimes have E coli problems, but sunshine and wave action and salt kill most germs in the ocean.

I always liked the water when I was a kid, but now that I’m older (not by much, of course) I tend to stay away from it more. Maybe that’s the CAT in me speaking. I don’t know. lol Thanks for stopping by!

With my germaphobia, I cannot bring myself to step into the ocean or lake. I don’t go to the pool, but at least at public facilities they are SUPPOSED to use chlorine in the water to keep it clean. I would like to have a pool in the backyard of my dream home someday. Thanks for stopping by!

I need some mountain laurel!! Oh my gosh – that is beautiful. guessing I won’t find it in our flat region.
And yes!!! Yes, yes yes – I cannot wait to get to the beach!! For us, it is warm enough now.. but we have to wait for our water to warm up. It takes another month to be able to swim in our lakes up here —- unless you like a chill bath! 🙂

I remember our first anniversary was spent hiking an overnight trail. Just before we got to our designated campsite mid-point of our 14-mile strenuous traverse we came across a creek. The water was inviting and calling our names from the tiresome trek, so we put our swimsuits on and got in. Oh, my! It was so refreshing and cool. I had forgotten how cold mountain water is even in early June. That was really nice and the experience has stayed with me for 34 years.
