Monday's Music Moves Me

What does Henry the VIII, Leona, Ellie, and Katherine have in common?

They are all from Great Britain!

Welcome to week 182!

Spotlight dancer, Chronicles from the Man Cave from March 3rd had the privilege of submitting today’s  “British Invasion, and not just the Beatles” theme.

Here in the states, we have enjoyed music popular songs from artists across the pond for years. You’ll  be surprised to learn which singers or bands have UK roots. Whatever ear candy is getting your groove on, then we want to hear it right here on Monday’s Music Moves Me!

The first  British invasion band that comes to mind is a group my Uncle Roger listened to when I was young. I still hear him singing that funny song…

I’m Henry, the VIII, I am
Henry, the VIII, I am, I am
I got married to the widow next door
She’s been married seven times before

Our lovely hostesses, XmasDolly, would like to thank you for joining the party and as always JAmericanSpice, Stacy Uncorked, Just the stuff ya know & myself are happy that you came.

Dance party rules:

  • grab XmasDolly 4M button, here
  • display it on your blog
  • add your favorite YouTube videos

We aren’t music snobs if you have tunes to share that don’t fit with the theme then no problem! As long as you have music to share, then you’re cool coz all we want to do is dance. Now, it’s time to link up and shake your bootie with your rockin’ bloggin’ friends!

** Remember, to be considered for honorary co-host each month, then be sure to add your URL to the link up.**

In 2006, this British singer/songwriter won the 3rd season X-Factor (UK). Presenting one of her most popular YouTube song presentations with nearly 77 million views….

The next British artist was introduced to me by a fellow 4M dancer with Lights. Last year, she earned her first UK #1 single and to-date received 191 million YouTube views with her popular hit song…

In 2012, the next gal danced into my life, literally on the popular TV series Dancing With The Stars. This artist is a classical-crossover singer, performing an array of operatic arias, pop songs, and hymns. Enjoy the rainbow of music with Katherine Jenkins…

These ladies may not fall in line with the original British Invasion, but that’s okay. That’s a wrap, folks! Did you have a good time on the dance floor? I did. Did you invite someone to join you on the dance floor today? Let’s keep the challenge spinning! Casually, invite at least one of your friends to commit to joining next Monday’s dance party. If we all do this and everyone shows, then we will bring the roof down!

What British artist/group moves you? Next stop… your place!

Be sure to come back next week to dance with the 4M crew, and if you can’t get enough music, then join me for Saturday Song-suasion!

Henry VIII is a long departed cousin of mine. Sorry to have been so late, but springtime allergies have really laid me up. I dumped the Zirtec and started taking Claritin. I think it’s helping sad I am not getting such bad headaches for the last two days. We have wildflowers everywhere combined with the desert wind means pollen is flying everywhere.

This was definitely fun! Makes me want to read up on Henry again. 🙂
Sorry I’m late. Been so crazy here at home and still going!

“I don’t care what they say… I’m in love with you!” I probably could say that too nowadays 🙂 Love the historical streak of your intro.
