What Christmas Means To Me #98º #music

Good-morning, kittens & dawgs! For the month of December it’s gonna be nothing but mewsic…Christmas mewsic that is and so each week I’m gonna feature a new-to-me artist or Christmas album. Nick Lachey appeared on this season of DWTS,  so I was happy to find 98º newest album, Let It Snow!

I’m linking up taking a coffee break with Stacy, Les, and Amber this morning and you’re invited to come with and let me remind you to visit again tomorrow for not-so Wordless Wednesday. X💋X💋, Cathy

    Hi, Cathy!

Snow and coffee are two of my favorite things. I am enjoying one of them as I listen to your Christmas tuneage. Can you guess which one? 🙂

I had almost forgotten about the boy band 98 Degrees that rose to popularity in the late 90s along with NSYNC. Nick and his guys no longer qualify as boys, but they still look and sound great. I just read that they did a show in my old stomping ground – Hershey, PA, in August 2012. I enjoyed the new Christmas album released this year by the group. I especially got a kick out of their cover of “”Run, Rudolph, Run,” a seasonal song first recorded and made popular by the merry Mr. Chuck Berry in 1958. I was also impressed with their powerful performances of “What Child Is This, “The First Noel” and “Silent Night.” They also did a fine job of imitating the harmony of another famous boy band, The Beach Boys, on the holiday classic “Little Saint Nick.”

What a treat this was for my ears, Cathy. Thank you, dear friend, and enjoy the rest of your week!

      Tom,

I was not a “boy band” fan in the 90s but I’ve grown to appreciate them more over the years. 98º does a great job harmonizing. I enjoyed all the songs you listed, as well as “Mary Did You Know?” I’m constantly amazed at my ability to switch from traditional Christmas carols to more modern uptempo versions. While they certainly don’t replace the classics, it’s nice to have the various renditions to spice things up. Thanks for stopping by for some mewsic, coffee, and snow (if only in our dreams, right? ) this morning, dear friend!
