Weathered Barn

It is day 2 of the A to Z Challenge. My illustration make-over comes from a free standing share as part of my Hodgepodge Wednesday Q&A responses in my at the time Wordless Wednesdays segment. I was inspired to give my colorized drawing a spring vibe with various shades of green and violets sprinkled across the grassy field in my Procreate recreation. I hope you don’t get the sneezies.

I will try to keep my posts short this year.  I will leave you with a artist discovery which works if nothing else the fella’s first name is Barns, so why not? Hit play to enjoy the English folk-pop artist, Barns Courtney!

Is Barns Courtney your cup of tea? I think he’s rather interesting sound.

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day.  I’m heading over to the A2Z headquarters to leave my calling card and maybe I’ll take notice to see who else came to the party.  I’ll resume with the next letter of the alphabet on Monday since tomorrow is an off-day for the challenge but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a party going on here. Come hit the dance floor with me in my Sunday edition of Monday’s Music Moves Me. This is CAAC signing off, have a great weekend!

  1. Loving the drawings so far… I could do with some spring goodness! That barn looks a lot like some of the old miners buildings here in Cornwall. I’m going to keep you bookmarked for the A-Z, there aren’t many crafty types so far!!
    I’m over at

  2. Your barn is so nice to see full of greens and the pretty violets. I am waiting to see some green since we had snow yesterday. Nothing stayed but..icchhh. Your image is great to see.

  3. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Saturday and A to Z Day 2, dear friend!

Your color illustration of the Weathered Barn is so pretty. I love the lush green of the meadow dotted with spring violets, a tranquil scene and an eye pleasing color combination. The violets remind me of the fields of Grape Hyacinths that surrounded the neighborhood park when I spent much of my time as a boy. I often climbed a tree and sat high above the ground for an hour or more enjoying the view of the fields of flowers. It was my equivalent of “Up On The Roof,” a chance to escape for awhile, view life from a different perspective and find peace.

Yessum, I enjoyed the song and video “Hollow” by Barns Courtney. The video’s a hoot, with a lady doctor inserting an endoscope in an exam room and discovering that Barns is infected with “musician parasites” that show up on the monitor as a indie pop band playing inside his body. She prescribes “anti rock” meds and drops a pill into his mouth, but it is not strong enough to quell his desire to sing and play guitar.

Thank you for the morning art and mewsic, dear friend Cathy. I’ll see you back here tamale for 4M Monday on Sunday!
