Tuesday Talk Time

Tuesday Talk Time: USA Made

A week ago, we were in the Smoky’s. You may recall, we stopped at The Apple Barn & Cider Mill in Pigeon Forge, if not, then you can read about it, here. Anywho, in the Christmas shop, I spotted these hand-painted ornaments Heart Gifts by Teresa, Inc that proudly stated on the box “made in the USA”.

Available for purchase at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland

I would have snapped a picture, but I was afraid the manager might not like it. So, I vowed to simply share this discovery with you. The ornament to your left is what caught my attention. This is a phrase my MIL always uses. It’s also available at American Ornaments.  In the product search window use “bushel & a peck” to find the ornament.

I love to buy American made products and as you know,  I’ll choose them every time over imported merchandise when possible!

In keeping with the USA made items, you might want to take a look at these beautiful cookie cutters by Ann Clark, LTD. I own several of her hand-crafted cookie cutters. They make absolutely wonderful looking cookies. You can take a peek at my results using the Ann Clark’s gingerbread cookie cutters produced, here. I can’t wait to use them again this year.

I want to call to your attention to one more company that I recently saw on America’s Test Kitchen. I don’t have any personal experience with this outfit, but their products are proudly made in America and I feel that counts for something. Check out USA Pan for your cookware and bakeware needs!

Speaking of Christmas, Les from Tuesday Coffee Chats wants to know, if I’m gettin’ crafty? One simple answer…Yes, I’m gettin’ crafty! I’m in the middle of making hand-stamped Christmas greeting cards for my family. I will do a write-up soon giving all the details of how I did this DIY job, but for now, I’ll share the end results.

Unfortunately, the photo doesn’t do the card justice. It is actually kinda glittery, but you can’t see this in the picture.

Oh well, now on to visit Patrice for Chats on the farmhouse porch.

Oops no questions? Then not to worry, I will update this section ASAP. I’m waiting for Patrice to go live with her weekly questions. Be sure to check back for my response to this week’s chat session. Well, there won’t be any chat questions today because Patrice’s computer bit the dust. She’s gonna have to share her hubby’s laptop, so she’s gonna be slow in getting things posted till she is able to replace the motherboard. This is a job she is going to undertake herself to cut down repair cost. A computer can be your best friend or worse enemy ever. Good luck, Patrice. We’ll be here waiting for you no matter how looong as it takes!

Now, grab a cup of coffee and follow along as I visit my lovelies!

Oh I love that ornament….and I will HAVE to say that phrase to my kids tomorrow. they will get such a kick out of it.
And I remember very well how beautiful your cards are! I feel I am just getting in touch with my DIY crafty side, and hopefully by next year I could tackle something like home-made cards. Thanks for sharing your art. 🙂

As I was telling VandyJ, I didn’t know there was song till now. I’m tempted to get that ornament, but I have so many already. I guess I will just have to pass on for it now.

I never seem to have the time or talent to make those gorgeous Christmas cards. I usually send a picture of my boys to family and friends.
The Christmas store looks like a cool place to shop! Is it open all year round?

    • Cathy Kennedy

Making hand-made cards does take time, but talent? I don’t know about that. lol Yes, the Christmas shop is open all year long. There is really big Christmas store a little further down the road just before you get to the busiest part of Pigeon Forge and it’s open year round, too.

I have absolutely NO skills whatsoever so I have to ask people to do projects for me. I desperately want Christmas cards so I’m thinking about getting a family photo taken and having the picture place make my cards.

Oh, I bet you can make your own Christmas cards. It’s not such a bit fuss as it the expense. Photo Christmas greetings are always nice to get. That’s a wonderful idea!
