Monday's Music Moves Me

Tony Bennett This Christmas Album

Good morning, kittens & dawgs!  On the way home  Friday night after viewing the beautiful streets lined with luminaries in Dillsboro, North Carolina (if interested you’ll find photos of past December trips from here, here, and here of Dillsboro) we were listening to the Christmas radio station on Sirius when the song Snowfall came over the air.  I thought it was lovely and decided this would be an excellent choice to start a new week and a fresh start with DH beginning his new job today.  So, grab you a hot beverage, I know I will, to settle in to listen to the complete Tony Bennett This Christmas Album playlist.

We got a fun surprise while traveling east on I-40 through the mountains with this view.

iPhone5s image capture in a moving car, not an easy job and no, I wasn’t driving. 🙂

Yep, that’s snow on the mountain top!  It made our outing more festive.  The wintry sighting fit perfectly with the very nippy temperatures (mid-20s).  I hope you enjoyed this mornings Christmas mewsic and I appreciate you making me a part of your Monday morning.

I’m co-hosting Monday’s Music Moves Me with XmasDolly for as long as she needs me since she’s short-handed and I hope you’ll join the dance party.  This month’s theme is “Christmas anything”!

Please don’t forget to join me for not-so Wordless Wednesday! 😉 Have a delightful mewsing day!

Alex, we were about an hour west of Asheville. That night, we crossed the Smoky’s. The coldest we saw the temp was 16 degrees. It’s was very chilly. It was late & dark as we came through the mountains. I could see some of wildfire scaring along the road and mountain banks. I’m glad I didn’t see more as it saddens me to think of the destruction of property and life this disaster left in its wake.

Great idea for a hop, music moves me 🙂 I need to get Tony Bennett’s Christmas cd. I got to hear him sing once when I was an extra in the film, Anger Management, he was singing at a Yankees game, but when the film came out, they had another singer. I think it was because he had been in Bruce Almighty round the same time.

Ellen, that’s really cool that you were an extra in Anger Mangement. Isn’t that the film with Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler? We caught that on Netflix a few years ago. When you mentioned Tony was in the movie I was thinking, I don’t remember that and then I read the rest of your thought that they changed the singer. MEWSIC Moves Me is a spin-off from Monday’s Music Moves Me, which I’m co-hosting (I use to help out regularly) temporarily since some of XmasDolly’s gals can’t pitch in at the moment. You’re welcome to get in on the fun, if the mewsic moves you! 😉

Hello Cathy! First, thank you for invitation to “Monday’s Music Moves Me”. Also, I want to let you know that I enjoyed so much the classical song in Tony Bennett’s magical interpretation and the lovely snowy image of the mountains while having a cup of coffee 🙂 … in here, for now (it looks more like spring and), there is no sign of snowflakes, at least… (*-*) but till Christmas, who knows… lol (smile emoticon) 🙂
And one more thing; the lyrics of the song are the same with the lyrics of the poem included.
Thank you once again for your visit and thoughts expressed!
Have a very wonderful time and lots of good cheer this week, too!

That was lovely with my morning coffee!! Love the old style like this.
And I got snow out my front window – but your mountain tops is much prettier. Mine is just keeping the kids home from school today! They should hand out free coffee for moms when they cancel the buses!

What a career Bennett has had! He was performing when I was born and still at it as I grow older. Wow! I’ll take half of his energy and be in pretty good shape.

Best wishes to DH on his new job. Pretty great Christmas present!

Lee, Bennett is pretty amazing! DH’s new job is a wonderful Christmas present!! We’re so blessed. Even while DH was out of work, we felt grateful because God made it possible for us to set aside savings over the years for such a time. This was never possible when the children were young and we had so many other financial obligations towering over us. Now, we need to build savings again for another rainy day. I’m sure it’ll happen again but I’m praying that it doesn’t.

    Hi, Cathy!

Yessum, I am sipping my hot beverage and enjoying this Christmas concert by Tony Bennett. It is refreshing to give your ears a break from rock and hip hop during the holidays and listen to the legends of popular music singing songs backed by a full orchestra and chorus. On Tony’s Christmas album I particularly enjoyed “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “White Christmas” and “The Christmas Song.”

Tony Bennett is 90 years old. Every time I see him he has a smile on his face and a positive attitude. I believe that helps explain his longevity and his enduring popularity as an artist.

My thoughts are with DH as he begins his new job today. You folks have many reasons to rejoice this season. Have a wonderful week, dear friend Cathy!

Tom, I’m happy you decided to join me this morning while you have a cup of…coffee? That’s what I’m having, a cup of hazelnut coffee. It feels a bit strange and exciting to have the house to myself again. I definitely will miss DH but his return is something I”m looking forward to. Tony Bennett is amazing for his years. If I can be half the person he is when I get to be 90 then hip-hip-hooray! Sometimes againg singers you can hear it in their voices but not with Bennett. He’s awesome sounding! I think you’re right a positive attitude increases one’s longevity. Thank you for joining me today. The next couple of days will be an adjusting period for me to find my groove to a new schedule plus I have some additional chores added to my week so it’s gonna be a hectic week but I’ll do my best to see you around the Blogosphere block when time permits, my friend!
