To my bloggy friends

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Howdy-hi, folks!  What is happening to this summer? Heck, what is happening to this year?  Well, it’s August and summer is anything other than over.  We have plenty of hot, hot weather to come!  I’m ready for a cool down.

Alright moving along, it’s time for Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me and this week’s theme is in honor of National Friendship Day.  Let’s dance to songs about friendship or “friends” song titles.

To my bloggy friends playlist:  1.  Friends Like You ~Andy Grammer  2. I’ll Remember ~Madonna  3. Best Friends ~Harry Nilsson  4. You Can’t Make Old Friends ~Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton  5. Girls Just Want To Have Fun ~Cyndi Lauper

A special thanks to each of you for being that special someone in my life.  Friendship wasn’t something I had anticipated when I started in Blogosphere but soon found a beautiful circle of friends.

This month’s honorary co-hostess is Alana from Ramblin with AM

❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

Psst…Psst…did you notice my 4M t-shirt design in my right side menu? You did? Good.  Mission accomplished!  Feel free to leave your feedback on the design.  I’m curious to know what you like or don’t like and don’t worry you won’t hurt my feelings…much. LOL Just kiddin’! I have thick skin, plus I know you wouldn’t intentionally mean to bruise my feelings. 😉

For those who enjoy voting in BOTB, I hope you’ll check out The Man With the Golden Gun Showdown that went live yesterday.  I’ll be back with partial participation with some of my usual Wild Wednesday hook-ups, so I hope you’ll join me mid-week.  That’s a wrap for now.   Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. MOL…That’s one fine line, CK, I also liked the mewsic. We sure want to have fun and we sure have with you and the mewsic😸 That t-shirt looks great. That could also be a new badge for the mewsic, not that it is necessary though 😉 Pawkisses for a wonderful weekend and it sure feels like you’re a furriend of mine💗🐾😽💞

    1. Binky,

Thanks for boogieing with me, little furriend! I thought momentarily about using the design as a 4M post button but I think I’ll keep my pinup girl for now. I appreciate your thoughts, though. Have pawsomely wonderful day!

    1. Ahh, thanks Nicole! I’m behind on responding to comments and visits, so I’m heading off to see you now. Happy belated Friendship Day to you, too!

  2. Happy Friendship Day, Cathy! In these crazy times, I feel blessed to have such wonderful virtual friends. They truly make my life brighter. Btw, I love your T-shirt design. 🧡 💛

  3. Hey Cathy!
Happy Friendship Day! Have I told you how much I appreciate your friendship? Well, it’s true – I do! Excellent song choices for the day.

    1. Mary,

Definitely! Your friendship means a lot to me, as well. It’s amazing the good friends I have in my circle of online pals all thanks to blogging. I’m so happy I gave this a stab!

    1. Mimi,

Laugh snorts are okay to do. I haven’t done that in a long time but that in itself will make you laugh again. I bet you did, too. 🙂

  4. Love the Awww Monday offering. You look great is purrfect.

    Love your take on friends.

    Yes I saw the t-shirt.

Love the friend quote. Made me smile.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs, my friend. ♥

    1. Sandee,

Thanks, my dear! I’m so happy you stopped by to dance with me and to let me know you saw the t-shirt. I’m not sure it’ll grab others enough to want to buy it but I just thought it was fun to design all the same.

  5. It’s been hot in L.A. as well. Actually been running the AC for a few hours each day. We’re readying ourselves for a big road trip starting next week. Among other stops, we have a reservation for a week stay at Little Arrow Resort in Townsend along with all my family from NJ and Maryville. Hopefully will be a fun family reunion. Hope the weather cools down a bit.

T shirt looks nice although I couldn’t look at it long as the page kept jumping away. I guess there was a lot of stuff to load or something.

I’ll try to make it to your BOTB post. I’ve not been spending a whole lot of time on line and been rather busy, but today I think I’ll have some time.

    1. Lee,

You have a long road trip ahead. I hope y’all have a great time visiting family here in the east. Ahhh, Townsend the quieter side of the Smoky’s. I hope y’all have a good time. Try to get over to Cherokee to drive at least portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Travel as far as Water Rock Knob which isn’t that far, maybe 30-45 minutes. The view is spectacular and if you’re lucky when you come back h through Cherokee on your way through the Smoky’s, maybe you’ll see some elk near the Visitor’s Center. They like the congregate along the road and in the nearby fields. Usually, you can get some good pictures from the window of your car. We rarely pull off. DH just slows down enough for me to snap a few pictures. Thanks for visiting and don’t worry if you include your link I usually approve those fairly quickly. You can always add your web address when you include your name and email info. As far as I know if someone has left comments before this won’t throw your message into the ‘pending’ or ‘spam’ folder. Have a good time and be safe, my friend!

  6. I have to admit that I love Harry Nilsson but this playlist is dominated by Kenny & Dolly. The truth in the song rings in my ears as I have a couple of old friends and I have lost a couple of old friends. It is that season of my life. Thanks for sharing your music this morning.

    1. Driller,

I’m with you on passing of friends. As we grow older the more friends and relatives we loose. It’s part of the circle of life. Hopefully, those who make their final journey pass through the Pearlie Gates. Thanks for stopping by, my friend!

  7. Thank you for your blogging friendship, Cathy, and for introducing me to Music Moves Me. Girls Just Want to Have Fun, especially, helped to brighten my getting-ready-for-work time this morning. Thank you again, and try to stay cool!

    1. Alana,

Cyndi Lauper was so much fun in the 80s. I’m happy to read that I helped to put you in a good mood with “Girls Just Want To Have”. It’s a great dance song! And, you’re most welcome for the 4M intro. I’m so glad you not only joined the party weekly but eventually became a co-hostess of the best dance party in Blogosphere. 🙂

  8. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Pawww-some 4M Monday to you, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a nice BOTB weekend.

That awww-some kitty is close enough to smooch, and that’s exactly what I’d like to do to the critter.

Yessum, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! (LOL) It won’t be long now. If you think about it, there aren’t that many shopping days left, so you better get started.

I enjoyed and appreciated your block of songs dedicated to your bloggy friends. I immediately recognized “Best Friend” as the theme song from The Courtship of Eddie’s Father, the late 60s – early 70s TV sitcom that starred Bill Bixby, the star of three other notable series: My Favorite Martian, The Incredible Hulk and The Magician. Wiki has this info about the “Best Friend” theme song: << The television show’s theme song, “Best Friend”, was written and performed by Harry Nilsson; it was an adaptation of his song “Girlfriend” with new lyrics written for the show. The theme was played over opening credits showing Bixby and Brandon Cruz in various happy moments. The song has often been used since that time as an iconic indication of father-son bonding. >>

It was a wonderful moment listening to Kenny & Dolly setting up their friend song by explaining the bond they share. Kenny has been gone more than a year now and is missed. That iconic music video showing Cyndi Lauper and her bff girlfriends singing and dancing their way through town was played heavily on MTV, VH1 and on the music television station where I worked in the 80s. In the years since its release, it has often been imitated and parodied. Pro wrestler Captain Lou Albano played Cyndi’s befuddled dad in the video.

I love your 4M T-shirt, Cathy! The design is abstract, conveying the impression that the music itself is in motion, moving to the beat on the dance floor. Congratulations on your imagination and artistry! Yessum, friendship is something to be treasured. The friendship you and I have is out of the ordinary and well worth preserving. Thank you!

Have a safe and happy week, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

I usually begin thinking a little about the holidays when June starts. The last half of the year always seems to zing by. In fact, I’m going to try my hand at making polymer clay Christmas ornaments. I’m really excited to give this a shot. I plan to share my DIY project once its completed. Thanks for your lovely words on my 4M T-shirt design. I’m not sure if its something that appeals to others but it certainly was fun to design and that’s all that matters to me. You know, I don’t think our friendship is out of the ordinary. We have different political views but we foster good will toward each other because we like each other and we have other common interests to share or talk about. We know that friends don’t have to always agree and that’s okay. We can see like one another and enjoy the other’s company. That’s the problem with many. They refuse to work on their friendships despite any differences. It’s either you agree with me 10% or forget you. Only that’s not the f-word they are likely to use. Thank you for being such a warm, genuine, and caring friend! Have a boogietastic week!

      1. I couldn’t have expressed it any better, Cathy. Thank you, dear friend!
