Thoughts of Spring {Blog Party} Day 1

Lynnette invited me to join her Thoughts of Spring {Blog Party}.  I haven’t been to a party in years. So, I’m excited to be included.

What’s really cool about this is, I can enjoy this party from the comfort of my home, wearing my snuggly sweats.  No fancy attire needed for this shindig.  Lynnette has provided some wonderful questions for our daily blog partying platform.

This is the one I’ve chosen:  What celebrity/celebrities would create a “Star-Struck” feeling if you saw them in real life?

Ladies, I know this one will make your heart go pitter-patter and if it not, then you better check your pulse to see if you’re still living.

When Magnum PI hit the air in 1980, I bet there wasn’t a woman alive whose heart didn’t swoon just a little when this heart-throb flashed his good looks and his boyish smile across the screen, which includes yours truly.

Tom Selleck’s handsome appearance was eye candy for many viewers. I was actually surprised to see no hint of arrogance about his good looks.  Yeah, we all have seen those devilishly handsome movie stars who reek of, ‘I’m so stuck on myself’ attitude that if you’re like me, it turns them from hot to cold fast.

Magnum PI became one of our favorite TV series in the 80s.  We watched Tom Selleck take to the big screen in such movies as “Three Men and A Baby”, which was okay, but we absolutely loved him in “Her Alibi”.

His likable personality flows from the movies to interviews.  His non-pretentious and modesty about his good-looks won me over.  What’s funny is,  he even questioned what his wife saw in him. “Really?” you say.  Yep, really!  Another thing,  I found interesting was his conservative political views when so many actors/actresses seem to veer to the far left side.  That in itself is an attractive quality, in my opinion.

Tom Selleck is quite handsome for a gentleman of his 66 years still.  You’ll notice, I didn’t say he’s old because I’ve learned men don’t age like women but instead become distinctive in appearance.  I was once certain if I ever met Tom Selleck in person my knees would surely buckle and I would be a giddy mess.  That was when I was in my 20s. Let’s face it, I’m not 20 anymore, but meeting him face-to-face would add a thrilling dose of excitement to my routine life. How about you?Save

    Hi!

Will you still speak to me if I confess I don’t remember having seen Tom Selleck in a movie? I actually know the name though! 🙂 I’m not sure if I feel very young, out of the loop or….?

Popped over here as part of the blog party and I’ll be looking round!

    Pip now,
    T.W.

@Amy…Yes, Tom Selleck has some sort of cop type TV series on right now, but I haven’t even had a chance to catch it. I don’t believe that’s something I would enjoy, though. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Amy

Has he done anything good recently? The last time I remember seeing him was on Friends.

  • Lynnette Kraft

Hi Cathy! Ah, Tom Selleck. Even though he’s more than 20 years older than me, even when I was a teen I thought he was very handsome. My mom did too. 🙂

I enjoyed visiting your blog again. You seem like a really neat lady.

Have fun blog hoppin’ and meeting some new chums!

@Carrie…yeah we have Magnum PI on DVD, too. At last the first season. What a fun show that is!

@Amy…well, I wouldn’t buckle today. lol But, yeah in my 20s I would go a little weak in the knees.

  • Amy

Ah Tom. I grew up watching Magnum with my sister (I wasn’t even in school yet, and she was in high school) and then when it came out on DVD a few years ago, hubby and I purchased the set. We both say, “mmmm” when we watch it, but I do it for Tom and he does it for the hot sweetness car! Hahaha! Great post – delightful to meet you!

  • Cathy Kennedy

@Lisa…good answer with keeping your DH in there with Tom. I’m glad you joined my party!

@Heather…I forgot about him being on Friends. He sure did win over more star struck younger ladies hearts with his appearance on that show.

  • Heather (The Menu Mama)

Tom Selleck appeals to a wide range of ages too, one generation drooled over him in Magnum PI, and another generation swooned when he was Monica’s boyfriend in Friends. Great actor and seems to be a wonderful gentleman, too.

  • Life Is Crazy Beautiful

Hi Cathy – your blog is adorable! Your post cracked me up…but you know the BEST thing about Tom Selleck? He just keeps getting better with age…ahem, but so does my husband {hee hee}. Nice visiting you 🙂

@Michelle…yeah, I know it really stinks the way we, women, who have to work the hardiest to look our best to NOT be able to age gracefully without the aid of cosmetic surgery to lift those years. Thanks for partying with me!

  • Michelle G

Ah the dimples 😉 My 10 year old has dimples – I’m so happy for him! LOL

    Yeah…Tom’s got those looks….

darn it…why to me get to look distinguished and women look “holy cow she’s old!” 🙂

    Nice to meet you!
    Great to party with ya!
