Random Tuesday Thoughts

The Simple Woman’s Daybook

A few months ago, I stumbled upon The Simple Woman’s Daybook. I have meant to link up with this monthly hop forever but failed miserably. That’s changing beginning today!

Here’s your chance to get inside my mind a little more. Warning, once there you might say, “Oh sister, I better leave this place in a hurry!” Or maybe, you’ll feel right at home. ^.^

You can’t get any more random with your thoughts then this by filling in these statements.

FOR TODAY,

Outside my window...it’s too dark to say what today will bring. I hope beautiful skies, but less heat. It’s been horribly hot this summer making me wish away my days instead of savoring and treasuring each one.

I am thinking…how might I organize my time better to create blog posts in advance so to make each day more productive, instead of leaving me feeling like I’m always on a deadline or something.

I am thankful…for my excellent health. At the age of 50, I’m still active & that’s good reason to cheer. Yay for me! ^.^

In the kitchen…at the moment pure silence. Every now and again I hear the refrigerator make a weird noise which convinces DS it’s not long for this world and maybe he’s right.

I am wearing…as usual a t-shirt and shorts.

I am creating…not much at the moment, but I do need to hand stamp some thank-you cards for my DH. A project I’m fixing to get going on.

I am going…to begin internet research for a new heart monitor. Mine isn’t working for some unknown reason. Oh pooh!

I am wondering…why has the weather been so crazy. Winter not feeling like winter and summer feeling ever bit like it then some. Will this lead to extreme cold temperatures this winter?

I am reading…only blog posts. My favorite pastime to read.

I am hoping…how soon I can find our perfect dream home with some acreage. I long for a place that’s more open. Neighbors are nice, but I don’t like bumping shoulders with them.

I am looking forward to… sharing photos of from our day trip on Saturday to Jonesborough – Tennessee’s oldest town. Hopefully, I’ll have them sorted and ready to go by next Tuesday.

I am learning…how to use my SLR a little more each time I use it. I took about 350 photos on Saturday. That’s too funny, I know.

Around the house…I have a few repairs to make to DH’s clothing – slacks need buttons secured and I have a bunch of ironing to do. What a dreaded job! I hate to iron, don’t you?

I am pondering…if I’ll find my dream house within my price range. Real estate is so expensive.

A favorite quote for today...is a verse from the Bible, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

One of my favorite things…to do is listen to music.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

  • I need hand stamp several Thank-you cards
  • I will make DH a birthday cake
  • I see my GYN doctor, as well as have a mammogram; there’s nothing like killing two birds with one stone. 😉

A peek into my day…includes trying to tackle a stack of shirts that needs ironing and to securely sew on the front button of two pairs of my DH’s pants. If I get these two jobs done, I’ll be so happy! The rest of my day will be a carbon copy of most other days – blogging, blog reading, light chores, and exercise.
Take a few minutes to enjoy a cup of coffee with your bloggy friends, as you enjoy some random reflections, considerations, or broodings. While you’re at it, join in on the fun – create your own post and link up!

I love the prompts! I feel like my blogging is HORRIBLE lately and I can’t find my groove. Maybe I need to do something like this to help me out!

Thanks for linking up. I’m sorry for being tardy with my comment. July has been wicked to me. =(

I agree with the weather thing, it has been SO hot this summer. I turned that number 50 this summer too. Loved this posting, you could feel your emotions in your writing.

Ooooh! Another fun meme – and I love your spin on it, because I was nodding and agreeing with practically everything you wrote. 🙂 I’ve been neglecting my DSLR lately using my new point-and-shoot the hubby got me for Mother’s Day. Poor DSLR – I even took it on vacation and didn’t snap one picture with it! It was easier to hold the small camera in the windshield of my car while driving…heh!

What is with the summer? And yeah, winter wasn’t really winter here either – more like spring happened too early, followed by a too-early (and seeming like forever) summer heat…wonder how fall and winter will shape up this year? I want to fast-forward to (hopefully) cooler temps. 🙂

Thanks for being such a diligent Rebel, Cathy! Have a great week! 🙂

I’d love to have a SLR camera, but I think I need to wait until the boys are older and I ahve time to devote to it–right now it would just gather dust.

I enjoyed your daybook. I agree, this summer has been a scorcher, and I’m more used to the heat that folks up north! I do hope you find that little place in the country that you yearn for. Have a blessed week!

That may be the perfect meme for me, I’m in such a blog funk lately!

Good luck on your search for your dream home, sounds very exciting.

Thanks for linking up with us!

I have seen this in the past but never did it. I still have one more letter to go in the One letter a Day posting… which I started 2 years ago. I’m so bad.

I was doing that daybook meme for a while too, but then I have stumbled upon so many, I feel overwhelmed! But thanks for sharing that today.

It’s easy to get over-whelmed with all the different blog hops. I just decided to do what I can, when I can. After all, isn’t this supposed to be fun? Thanks for stopping by! 😉
