Monday's Music Moves Me

The Return of Crazy Lixx

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays! This week’s theme is freedom of music choice.  I’m exercising that right by bringing back to CAAC The Return of Crazy Lixx, the Swedish glam band!

Playlist tracks include: 1. Anthem For America 2. Hunter of the Heart 3. Girls of the 80s 4. Rise Above 5. Reach Out

If you enjoyed the sound of Crazy Lixx and you missed the party two weeks ago you can click here to listen to their Forever Wild album from 2019.

The honorary co-hostess this month happens to be little ole me.  That being said, the 4M co-hostess Marie, Stacy, Alana, and I invite you to hit the dance floor.

This is a music linky party. Every other week we have a suggested music theme to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

Special thanks to June from Zoolatry for making this 4M design!

Let me wrap things up by mentioning I published a mid-month BOTB yesterday for anyone wanting to participate in the voting process.  This is CAAC signing off, please join me next time for Tickle Me Tuesdays.  Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery to Marie! ♥ I hope you and she finally were able to connect, Cathy.

That is a beautiful horse to start off this post and this old “rockchick” is really enjoying the sounds of Crazy Lixx. Rock on!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Debbie,

Yes, I finally got ahold of Marie. She has pneumonia and a UTI but thank goodness no Covid. I’m concerned about her inability to get around with her leg problem being an issue again with pneumonia. She needs the walking activity to help keep the lungs clear. The hospital did send her home with that breathing thingy. I hope she’s using frequently. Thanks for boogieing with me, my friend!

  • Anne M Robinson

Oh that horse is magnificent! W O W ! My sweet hubby took me to breakfast yesterday and we go to a little place that displays local art. If I had the money I would have bought all the art with horses. Since incredible creatures. Have a great week!

  • Sandee

Awww on that beautiful horse. Wow.

Love your playlist. We’re so alike where America is concerned.

Ann is the person that made the badge, June is her cat.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs, my friend. ♥

Hi Marie….I am seeing your posts here and hope you get a hold of Cathy. I am certain she will contact you sooner than later. We have the ability to call our pharmacy and the grocery store and have them deliver the goods. I hope you will feel better in a couple of days.

Now, Cathy, I love that horse but I am not liking the music from this Swedish band but I appreciate their humour in that one video where they are trying to impress the gal with the botox lips. It was funny how they were introduced to us like an 80s sitcom. I hope you have a wonderful day and that you contacted Marie. Send her my well wishes even though she doesn’t know me:)

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Birgit,

I tried calling Marie twice yesterday but each time her phone rolls over to VM. I did leave a message with my phone number and haven’t heard from her yet. I’m sure if she’s not feeling well then she’s probably doing a lot of sleeping. I hope I can talk with her today. I will be sure to tell her you send your best.

Crazy Lixx is a lot of fun. Their music is not only good like the 80s stuff but their videos have the same off-beat humor found in many music videos from that era. It’s just great having this group replicates that sound!

      Thanks for visiting, my dear!

  • John Holton

Marie left me a message to have you call her. It sounded urgent. I guess she’s in the hospital. The whole message is in a comment on my blog to s recent post.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      John,

Marie had been in the hospital. She left a comment or two on this thread. I tried to find the comment on your blog but never did see it. I’ve sent her an email and called her twice. I left a message on her VM giving her my phone number, but we haven’t connected yet. I hope I can do so today. I hate that she’s not feeling well. I’ll bring everyone up to date as soon as I’m able to talk with her, though. Thanks for reaching out to me letting me know, good friend!

  • Alana Mautone (@RamblinGarden)

The good news, I was able to play all the videos, even switched computers to where my husband was so he could sample a couple of songs. Love these Crazy Lixx, especially the first two songs. The Hunter of the Heart video was funny, too. Husband said this group reminds him of a cross between Ratt and Bon Jovi; my ear just says “80’s!” Either way, it’s good stuff. But – Marie. Hoping she tests negative.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Alana,

I’m happy you enjoyed my tunes. I’m like you their style just screams 80s! What this about Marie? I haven’t heard from her in a long time. In fact last time when I went to bed, I thought I’d better send her a message to check in with her. It’s so not like her to not reach out to me. Does she think she has Covid or has been exposed? I’m sending an email now! Thanks for letting me know our girl is not well. Have a boogietastic week!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Alana,

Tom mentioned YouTube was having issues but I’m glad you didn’t have any problem. I’m with you, my ear says 80s, too. No news to report on Marie yet. I hope I can get a hold of her today.

  • Thomas Anderson

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Pawww-some 4M Monday on Sunday, dear friend! I hope you and DH are having a nice weekend.

That’s an awww-some picture of a white horse galloping across snow covered terrain, a beautiful animal and landscape.

I’m thrilled that you decided to have Swedish glam rockers Crazy Lixx back for an encore performance at CAAC. However, once again, there’s a problem with YouTube, because I cannot play your block of Crazy Lixx songs. At this hour, there is a message on a black screen that reads, “This live event is no longer available.” YouTube must be experiencing widespread technical difficulties with their embed code because, starting yesterday and continuing last night and today, some embedded videos on my blog and yours have vanished and bear that same message on black screen, while other brand new videos I find on YouTube give me the same trouble report when I try to copy the embed code for use on the blog. This is a mewsic blogger’s nightmare, and I certainly hope YouTube can get the problem corrected soon.

To get around the problem this morning, I went to YouTube, looked up the Crazy Lixx songs you listed and played them. You already know how much I love their “Anthem For America,” having posted it myself last fall. For me, it remains one of the most exciting finds of the 2020s. Next, I watched for the first time their 2017 video “Hunter Of The Heart.” It’s another great song and video. More so than any other current band I’ve seen and heard, Crazy Lixx captures the true spirit and essence of 1980s melodic hair metal in America. Their songs are highly listenable and not the least bit offensive. They don’t cross the line. “Girls Of The 80s,” a 2015 song, is equally melodic. If Crazy Lixx had been around in the 80s, they would surely have been one of the top bands of the genre given the high quality of their songs and videos. The video I saw for “Girls Of The 80s” is a custom fan made vid using vintage clips of female rock singers and musicians which I believe includes glimpses of Lita Ford, Nancy Wilson of Heart, Joan Jett, perhaps the Vixen band and others. “Rise Above” is the most recent song and video drop by Crazy Lixx. I watched it a few weeks ago and enjoyed watching it again this morning. As we view footage of the athletic young woman at the gym getting in shape by training on the boxing “heavy bag,” the song’s lyrics inspire us to be our personal best, to rise above any and all adversity and win. In that respect, the song has universal appeal. I can imagine it being used in the soundtrack of a movie about NASCAR racing or some other high risk action sport.

That is an excellent meme quote at the end of your post, Cathy. The inspiring songs of Crazy Lixx carry the same empowering message.

So here’s the deal. YouTube has been “off and on” for the last 24 hours. I am going to submit my comment now and return throughout the day to see if your block of videos pops back into place and can be played on your blog. It probably will. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if the videos are all available again as soon as I publish my comment, because, last night, YouTube was was switching back and forth every few seconds and driving me crazy. I hope for everyone’s sake that Y/T gets this critical problem ironed out.

Thanks again for posting more great rock anthems by Crazy Lixx this morning. Enjoy your Sunday, dear friend Cathy, and I’ll see you on TMT day!

    • Thomas Anderson

      Hi, Cathy!

I wanted to tell you that YouTube was able to fix its problem with video embed codes. Many people had reported the problem. YouTube techs worked on it and by last night the videos on your site, mine and others were playing normally.

I also need to let you know that I will be late for Tickle Me Tuesday tamale because Mrs. Shady and I need to arise at 3 am and take her son to the airport for an early cross country flight. We won’t be home until late morning. I will get here a.s.a.p.

Have a happy Monday, dear friend Cathy!

      • Cathy Kennedy

        Tom,

Thanks for letting me know YT did fix their problem. As I mentioned, I had no glue of the troubles. I hope y’all got Mrs. Shady’s son off okay this morning. Winter Storm Izzy left us about an inch and a half of snow over night and possibly some ice. It’s too dark to see out my window but the sun will be up soon in these parts even if it’s going to be behind the clouds today. Have a boogietastic day, my friend!

        • Thomas Anderson

Cathy, Mrs. S’s son’s flight is tomorrow, not today. Therefore I will be here later than usual tomorrow for your Tickle Me Tuesday feature.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Tom,

I didn’t know YouTube was experiencing technical difficulties over the weekend. I stopped by yesterday briefly to approve and read a few comments but was none the wiser of the situation until I read your message. I am glad you were able to work around the issue by going directly to YT though. Crazy Lixx is truly a fun band. I like their music style and the way they put together their videos which are fun. Thanks for taking time to sample the playlist, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

      Marie,

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been in the hospital and not doing well. I tried calling yesterday twice but your phone (house & cell) rolled over to VM. I did leave a message on your cell phone with my phone number and I also sent you an email with it. Hopefully, we can talk today. You don’t have to worry about anything in Blogosphere. I along with Alana and Stacy will keep the dance floor movin’ for you, Sweetie. The thing I want as does everyone is for you to get all better. You’re in my prayers. Take very good care of yourself. I’m sending love and hugs your way, my dear!
