Tickle Me Tuesdays

10 Top 1982 Hits and your Tuesday morning giggles

Good-morning! How is everyone doing?  Life on this side of your computer screen is going well.  I wanted to take a quick sec to share with you some supplements that can be used doe preventive measures* that may help to reduce your risk of Covid.  These things might not be new to you and for years, we’ve been taking the supplements listed on the pdf I gave you.  We try to give our bodies what we can’t always get in our diet.  The world of vitamin supplements is kind of amazing, don’t you agree? * link source

While I’m on health topics, I got another article of interest on diabetic neuropathy and how it can be cured with a plant-based diet.  I don’t have diabetes but my mother does and naturally it peaked my curiosity.   Check out the video that refers to these findings.  Do you have any experience with or know of anyone who has had good success making these sorts of dietary changes to ease their neuropathy or even curing their diabetes? I think if I had diabetes and suffered with neuropathy then I’d be willing to try it.

I spoke with Marie from Xmas Dolly yesterday.  She has pneumonia and a UTI.  The doctors have her on a number of meds to fight these things.  Thankfully, she does not have Covid, though.  I told her to take good care of herself and everything in Blogosphere can wait. If you would keep her in your prayers. 😉

What we were you doing in 1982?  I was in college but what I remember most from that year is the whole world converging onto our city which hosted the world expo fair that year.  It was an exciting and electrifying time.  The music matched the vibe, too.  Hit play to enjoy the top 10 songs from the week of January 23, 1982!

Song tracks: 1. Physical ~Olivia Newton-John 2. Waiting For A Girl Like You ~Foreigner 3. Centerfold ~J. Geils Band 4. I Can’t Go For That ~Halls & Oates 5. Harden My Heart ~Quarterflash 6. Leather and Lace Stevie Nicks & Don Henley 7. Turn Your Love Around ~George Benson 8. Let’s Groove ~Earth, Wind, & Fire 9. Trouble ~Lindsey Buckingham 10. The Sweetest Thing ~Juice Newton

Yesterday, DH was supposed to get his replacement crown but due to Winter Storm Izzy making secondary streets unsafe.  We thought we’d have to cancel but the dental office sent a text saying the office would be closed because of the weather.  It was cloudy, cold, and windy yesterday so I’m glad we didn’t have to get out in those conditions.  It made it barely above freezing.  Today is supposed to be better in that required but more cold weather is on the way. UGH!

Last Friday, I ran short on time and I wasn’t able to schedule a Friday Funnies post.  Today, I will try to make up for the lost laughs with these cold weather memes/cartoons I dug up for you.  Don’t forget to set your hot beverage down before going any further.

I hope you enjoyed the top 10s from 1982.  It’s time to grab a cup of coffee and follow along with me as I head off to visit Sandee for some Happy Tuesdays giggles at Comedy-Plus, then I’ll check out Random Tuesday Thoughts with Stacy Uncorked, and finishing things up by checking out this week’s word prompt found at Eugi’s Causerie for the wannabe poet.   This is CAAC signing off coming up next is the linky party where just about anything goes with Wild Wednesdays ! 😉

I’m very glad to know that Marie does not have COVID and that her other health issues are being handled. Please send her my best regards!

In 1982 I was 27 years old, married for 9 years, working my way up the corporate ladder and burning the candle at both ends, as the saying goes. ☺ The songs on your playlist are all familiar. I remember some people were surprised that Olivia Newton-John recorded a song considered a bit risque, compared to her previous material.

We had a major blizzard here on Jan. 17, the likes of which we haven’t seen for years! Took us two days to dig out. No joggers in sight, but they are out in the cold on other days. Makes me shiver just looking at them! Stay warm and safe, my friend.

I knew you would be able to help Marie and it sounds like she got socked! Poor thing to have pneumonia and a UTI. She should drink non-sugar pomegranate juice as this help with a UTI. I have had more than one and it is not pleasant. I shall keep her in my prayers.
I love the songs here and brings me back to my year between high school and university. A lot of dancing!
The comics make me laugh especially the cats on the bed which is how I feel but we only have 3.

      Birgit,

I will send Marie a quick email in a few minutes to give her your self-help for UTI. I know those aren’t any fun. It seems I had one many years ago and didn’t like it, very uncomfortable feeling. Thanks for visiting, my dear!

Poor Marie! I saw her plea for help on your blog and so glad to know she’s getting help. Sending blessings her way. Thanks for the giggles and love Physical! Also, thanks for the shout out – always appreciated! 😘

      Eugenia,

I hated that she lost my phone number and then I couldn’t get ahold of her quickly but we finally did connect. I just want her to get well. This is the nasty season for just about anything.

      Myke,

You know how horrible I am with band names and artists, don’t you? lol Seriously, I’m awful unless it’s someone super big. Rindy Ross didn’t ring a bell, but I knew she had to be with one of the bands I used and that’s when I learned (thank you for prompting me) that she was the saxophonist and lead singer for Quarterflash. Other than “Harden My Heart” I can’t think of another song title by the group but surely I’m just not remembering correctly. I need to hit YouTube to sample their tunes and jog my memory. Thanks for visiting, my friend. I’m heading over to YT now!

      Mimi,

DH has a new appointment set for next Thursday. Let’s just hope no more crazy winter weather moves in. Thanks for praying for Marie. I haven’t ever had pneumonia but I know it can’t be fun. I’m glad you enjoyed the music and giggles, my dear!

awwwww the multitude of kitties sleeping all together reminds me of when we had 4 cats and we all slept together! Purrfectly fine with us…so cozy!

Oh on Marie. I wondered what happened to her. I’ve been so busy moving all my programs to my new laptop that I’ve done little else. Prayer for her recovery. I go over and send her some love.

Love Physical. I’ve not heard that in years.

Love all the funnies. Laughing is a good thing.

I have a friend that altered his diet and he’s not taking shots or pills anymore. He’s borderline though. You have to work hard to made sure you care for yourself properly. Hubby has a sister that died from diabetes. Her diet was horrible.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs my friend. ♥

      Sandee,

Oh I remember the day of having to install programs on new computers. It’s an all day or two project! We began in 2006 to move over to Apple products with our first MacBook. Then, we began adding Apple mobile devices to our lives, then a MacBook Pro, a MacBook Air, and finally an iMac desktop computer. The cool thing with Apple devices is you can migrate everything from one device to another fairly easy. It takes time but you don’t have to ask yourself if you missed anything since it automatically copies over to its new location. Of course, we carefully check and double check to make sure things did move over like we hoped which they do. That’s just some food for thought. 😉 Best of luck with this project. I know how hard and time consuming it all can be.

Yeah, I know diabetes is a horrible disease that generally affects your organs and overall health. Mom can’t seem to regulate her blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. The neuropathy in her feet is quite painful. The doctor has her on something for that but she says sometimes it doesn’t work right. She’s trying to do better with her diet. In the past year to eighteen months I think she understands better the importance of taking care of herself. I hope she can get some relief from her alarming health issues.

Thanks for praying for Marie. I know she’ll appreciate that. 😉

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Tickle Me Tuesday with bonus Friday Funnies/Sillies thrown in, dear friend!

I’ve been awake since 2:50 am and on the road all this time, just now getting back home from the airport. The trip went AOK but, as you might expect, I’m sleepy. 🙂 Even so, I wanted to read your TMT post before taking a much needed nap.

Yessum, I take a daily multivitamin plus vitamin C and D supplements. I can’t remember the last time I actually had a head cold, but it might be mainly dumb luck.

As I indicated when you posted your song block from the early 70s, I like the mewsic of the 80s much more, especially because MTV made pop music a visual experience as well as a listening experience. Many iconic videos were broadcast on MTV in 1982 and your set includes some of the greatest songs and vids. The MTV station where I worked during the 80s decade also ran these videos. “Centerfold” was especially popular with our viewers, as I recall, as was “Harden My Heart.” “Let’s Groove” was huge in the discos I frequented during these years of my second bachelorhood.

I enjoyed your Funnies. It was very cold here this morning. You know how drafty those airport parking garages can be in the cold, pre-dawn hours. This morning, the wind was whipping through the parking garage as we headed toward the terminal, but we passed a couple of young men dressed only in T-shirts and shorts! We all had coats on and couldn’t believe our eyes. I love the cartoon with the bed filled with warm kitties. Our Bootsie-Wootsie sleeps with us occasionally, and other times sleeps with Mrs Shady’s son.

Yessum, I certainly did enjoy this solid as a rock song block from 1982, a great year in mewsic. I’ll be back to see you tamale on Wild, Wacky and Almost Wordless Wednesday. Have a tunetastic day, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

I haven’t had an old fashion cold in years. knock on wood I stay relatively isolated from people which probably helps to keep things like this away. One thing people fail to take into account is one’s mental health. You need to keep stress out of your life as it will break down your immune system setting you up for a bigger, badder, nastier bullet to take you down physically.

MTV was instrumental in the revolution of popularizing music in the 80s and still is today. I like watching the older videos but the newer stuff I’d rather not. I like both the 70s and 80s style music with or without videos. I’m happy that enjoyed my playlist.

I figured y’all were experiencing some of winter’s chill in your part of Florida. It’s sure been cold here. We’re bracing for another system to move in tomorrow with temperatures below freezing for a high on Friday. I’m not looking forward to that at all!

Thanks for swinging by, my friend.
