I sketched this for DH for Valentine’s Day. I took the liberty to crop the original drawing for today’s FFO contribution. I don’t know how often I can participate with the weekly community but Nicole has been such a sweetie to invite me that I knew when I finished this piece that I should share it with her. I have miles to go before I’m a tenth as good as she is with portraits. Nicole draws very realistic looking people. Mine I suppose are more like pop art. I accept my limitations as I pursue learning how to make improvements as I go. It’s a continuous process but one that I enjoy very much!
Instead of knocking myself out with two art posts, I simply decided to showcase my TAD drawing today because it works for the FFO challenge. Rain’s prompt was lips. The one above definitely works but my first thought was “Hot Lips” as in Major Houlihan from the hit TV series M*A*S*H. I’m not good with drawing exact likenesses, so I thought I tried do a caricature of Loretta Swit and here’s my attempt.
Ha-Ha! I just noticed how wonky my drawing turned out. I definitely need to rework her mouth alignment with her eyes. Oh boy, as I said this is all a learning process!
There you have it, two art pieces for the price of one! I’ll be back next time with Monday’s Music Moves Me and if you like music then I’d love to have you join the party with whatever music moves you! Have a doodletastic weekend! XOXO Cathy
