Last month’s A to Z blogfest was very fun but I felt pushed the entire time not because of the challenge, although it did contribute somewhat, but mainly with all the house hunting and other things I had on my plate. I really thought I’d stick to my plans to participate in Battle of the Bands (BoTB) this month but honestly, I feel it’s important to step away from things just a wee bit especially since today, DH is having dental surgery again and can’t be here anyhow. The timing just isn’t the best right now.
Allow me to make my apologies to my fellow BoTBers and to all you expecting another showdown but there are plenty going on today. Hop over to Stephen’s place for a list of battles going on. I plan to join the mid-month battle so mark your calendar. 😉
Before I head off to kick my feet up or whatever qualifies as ‘relaxing’, let me tell ya about DH’s classmate Clinton Collins. If you’ve been a long-time reader of mine then you might recognize the name and if not that’s okay. I mentioned him briefly in 2014. Anyhow, Clinton released a new studio album last month, Even On Your Darkest Days, (available on iTunes & various online sources) and we’re all so very proud of the boy. I hope you’ll spare a moment to listen to the song track off this album, “When I Left Virginia”.
I know what you’re thinking. Don’t let Clinton’s song title fool ya. We all grew up in southern WV. I really didn’t know him other than by name but that doesn’t change the fact that I feel a kinship with my fellow Mountaineer and small-town neighbor (sorta).
