My friend, McGuffy Ann now hosts the Friendly Fill-Ins (click button to visit her site).  Every Thursday, she posts four fun and easy blank statements for us to borrow, complete, and post on our site. Some statements are contributions from other bloggers. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

  1. I wish I could afford to hire someone to build my dream house.
  2. Zucchini is one of those vegetables I rarely eat not that I dislike it, but it’s not the first thing to come to mind when I think of veggies.
  3. One Summertime memory I recall is playing hide n’ seek after dark. That was the best time to play because it made it harder to be found.
  4. This Summer is hotter than last year and I’m more than ready to see the return of fall temperatures. Sometimes, I wish we had mild conditions year round, but then I realize I’d miss the seasons.

If you liked my answers, then you might want to see how other bloggers responded. 😉 Just click on McGuffy’s button!

Wow! I am so happy to see you! You are so busy! For the Fill-Ins…

I would love to have an old farm house, but up in the U.P. I loved playing hide and seek at dusk, and then looking for fireflies. Memories.

I am ready for fall, too. It is too hot to have fun. I did like your Funnies, though!

Thanks for being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins! Annie at ~McGuffy’s Reader~

    • Cathy Kennedy

Annie, I’m trying to get my act together in Blogosphere. Fridays post is a busy one with participating in three hops. I normally feature Skywatch Friday here, but I’m trying to keep things more evenly matched and decided to include SWF in my mid-week hop. Who knows, I might go back to my old schedule once I get my blog repairs done. Oh well, I certainly appreciated you stopping in for a visit. Have a good week!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Tamara, indeed friends are reason to celebrate. So, glad you enjoyed the laughs and I hope you’ll come back anytime for a visit or giggle. 😉 Now, I’m off to visit you!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Liz, glad you enjoyed the laughs. I’m sure McGuffy would love it, if you joined the Friday Fill-Ins fun. Have a good week. I’m heading over to see you next! 😉

  • Birgit

My hubby and I laughed out loud at the stupid teens snorting gran dad’s ashes. How stupid can people be…wait…we know. I am not one for Zuchinni either. I also agree with you about this heat…it’s disgusting and I want rain and cool temps

    • Cathy Kennedy

Birgit, people in general are more stupid than they were 40 years ago and teenagers…well, they don’t adults to look to who have good common sense and sound judgement to follow. The results are often horrendously awful. I’m glad I was able to make y’all laugh. Mission accomplished! 😀 Have a funtastic week, my friend!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Wren, no problem! A visit from a friend is good anytime. Have a funtastic week and if you wanna dance then come back to boogie with me tomorrow!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Nancy, I believe people are more stupid than curious. Why don’t people say, what is this and will it hurt me? The biggest issue is the day of good common sense is gone. 🙁 Oh well, thanks for stopping in for some giggles!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Colette, I do a lot of head shaking, too. I don’t know how real that is, but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to learn that it really happened. There are some seriously stupid people out there thanks to all the dumbing down by liberals. Common sense is practically dead in our society. So, so, sad! Thanks for visiting, dear!

Happy Birthday to your Hubby!! Thank you for participating in the fill-ins. I think everyone is sick of this heat, I do look forward to Fall too. Great funnies too. Have a nice weekend.

    • Cathy Kennedy

Thanks for the bday wishes to DH. I made him per his request the homemade cherry almond cake like I made DD#2 in May. It turned out yummy good, too! And, I ordered my two Pizza Hut pizza creations for him that he loves, as well. We generally keep celebrations small and intimate. It makes the occasions sweeter. So, glad you came by and I hope you have a good weekend!

  • lexacain

Your funnies cracked me up! I especially loved the machine that wants $100. What a riot! Happy Birthday to you husband! I hope you have a wonderful weekend celebration! 🙂

    • Cathy Kennedy

Lexa, yeah, that Stupidity Testing machine is hilarious. I think I found a way to make some big money, just install one of these machines and relax. The money is will soon flow in like a river. lol Thanks for stopping by!

  • Jeffrey Scott

I love your Friday Funnies. I’ve been toying with the idea of having a Friday Funny post, to be honest. I’ve put together a few but never posted them. I really need a push to do that! LOL
Everyone loves a little light humour.

  • Josie Two Shoes

I am thinking that those kids’ parents weren’t too thrilled with them!! I have fond memories of playing outside after dark on summer nights too, and it was safe back then in the small town where I grew up. I’d love to have my dream house built – a tiny house near the beach please! Happy Birthday to your husband, that’s the very best kind of best friend to have! 🙂

    • Cathy Kennedy

I would think the parents were horrified and then angered beyond words. Can you just imagine how stupid these kids felt? A beach front home sounds nice. I kinda want a place in the mountains, but then I think how hard it would be to get to stores, hospitals,… when we got older. So, I’d like a place that’s conveniently located with a couple of acres (Just enough to not feel like my neighbors are crowding me, you know?) and house that’s bigger than what we have now. It doesn’t have to be huge, but comfortable for family gatherings. 🙂 Thanks for popping in for a visit. Heading over to your place next.

    • Cathy Kennedy

Kate, I’d be happy to send you a little heat in exchange for a little cold. lol The tide will turn soon enough and you’ll hear me complaining about how I’m freezing before too long. I’m not happy with the weather unless it’s spring or fall. 😀 I hate the extremes, but I love the seasons. I reckon I’m just strange like that. Thanks for stopping by and for the bday wishes for DH.

  • Stacy Uncorked

I would love to hire someone to build my dream house, too!

Zucchini is definitely not on my first choice list – I don’t hate it, I’m just not a fan of it – I think it’s a texture thing. Well, except for zucchini bread, that I do enjoy. 😉

Oh yes! Hide’n’Seek in the dark! So much more challenging! 🙂

I do not miss the heat and humidity we were always stuck with out East – I love that Washington State not only has seasons, but I don’t hate the summer months as much as I used to when we were in PA. 😉 Fall is still my favorite season, though! 🙂

Happy Birthday to your hubby! Sounds like you have a really fun day planned!

And thanks for the laughs – those funnies were funny!! 🙂

    Friday Friendly Fill-Ins for Fun!

  • Suzanne Gunter McClendon

Happy birthday to your husband, Cathy!
In the dark hide-and-seek was great! We used to play it with our kids, but in the house most of the time.
I think the only season we have around here is summer. Eternal summer gets pretty old, too.

    Have a great day!

    • Cathy Kennedy

Suzanne, We played hide n’ seek in the house with our children, too. It was easy when they were quite small, but after they began to grow it wasn’t nearly as fun for them. The best place for us to play with them was when we visited DH’s parents in southern WV. They have a huge yard with lots of wooded property, so this was the ideal spot for summertime games. Ugh to eternal summer! I don’t think I’d be a happy camper, if that’s all we got year round. I guess I’ll put up with my misery for a short season. 🙂 Now, I’m off to your place!

      • Suzanne Gunter McClendon

I think hide-and-seek is fun no matter where it is played. I still like to play it, though not enough people live here now to make it the adventure that it used to be. Sir Hiss has been really good at this game. We haven’t been able to find where he slithered off to!
Hide-and-seek in the woods is mega fun! I grew up in the woods. 🙂
I think that I could live with eternal winter here in Texas over this eternal summer any day. The winters here are nothing at all like what you get over there and we got in SC. Winter here is pretty much like spring or fall anywhere else. It just doesn’t get really cold at all. Thanks for visiting my blogs. 🙂 have a great weekend!

        • Cathy Kennedy

Suzanne, mild winters are bad. We definitely get some cold spells during the cold months, but it’s nothing like our neighbors north. Maybe one day when we win the lottery we can have a winter home somewhere warm, like along the Gulf Coast of Florida or maybe Texas. That would be sorta nice, but I imagine it’s a choice to keep up two homes. I can daydream for now and worry about all the to-dos, if it becomes a reality. 🙂

        • Suzanne Gunter McClendon

That would be nice – a winter home and a summer home. 🙂 Daydreaming is fun. I live in the Biltmore House in some of mine, beautiful architecture, snow sometimes, and leaf color changes over the gorge. What could be better? And in this daydream, no taxes or house payments.haha Here’s to daydreams! Have a great weekend. 🙂
