Snow Fairy #art

Rain’s theme today is Snow Creatures. My sketching possibilities seem endless but in the end the one creature I most wanted to illustrate is a Snow Fairy.

Thanks for stopping in with your coffee for a peek at my masterpiece and …oh yeah for not spilling it on my artwork. 😉

It’s a super pleasure to share my newest Procreate illustration with you this morning. 😘  Follow me to Rain’s Garden to browse through the gallery of artistry!

I will close with a mewsic arrangement by Brandon & Derek Fiechter for their Winter Wonderland album which I think fits nicely with my sketch. I hope you enjoy it and be sure to return tomorrow for some giggles, fill-ins, & more with Friday Fun Stuff!

A beautiful Snow Fairy who I can picture dancing to the music with the feathery snow drifting down. You certainly tapped into my imagination. A lovely post Cathy …

      Christine,

While our weather has cold periods, overall we aren’t too bad. Of course when it’s cold I hate it and wish I could keep warm wearing sleeveless apparel, instead you’ll find me wrapped in the warmth of my Sherpa fleece. 🙂

Hi Cathy! Love your winter fairy, so pretty and ethereal. The beautiful music goes with it so well. It does me good to sit still and listen to something soothing for a few minutes, I should do it more often. Hope you get a little bit of snow to enjoy. Here it’s just grey and drippy today. Have a wonderful day, hugs, Valerie

      Valerie,

There no sign of snow for us. In fact, our temperatures are forecast to be quite warm the next several days. It’s going to feel more like spring than winter. The thing is, the cold waits until it’s spring to arrive when we’re ready for it to warm up again. I suspect it’s going to be like this this year, too. Crazy weather!

    Hi, Cathy!

I am here to feast my eyes on your torrent of artistic talent, dear friend, and to feast my ears on your mewsic.

Your Snow Fairy scene is dazzling, Cathy! The shade of light blue you chose is ideal for conveying the chill of winter and the Fairy is a stunning sight surrounded as she is by falling snowflakes.

That “Winter Fairies” mewsic is beautiful, haunting, and sounds like a movie score, doesn’t it? I could imagine it playing during a dramatic movie scene, such as a panoramic view from a distance as soldiers march though deep snow in the dead of winter, or a scene depicting the California-bound pioneers getting stuck in the snow at deadly Donner Pass in the mid 1800s, many of them resorting to cannibalism to survive the winter.

Thank you for the inspiring art and mewsic offerings, dear friend Cathy, and have a wonderful day!

      Tom,

The mewsic arrangement was a pleasantly delightful discovery which worked purrfectly with my illustration. You’re so right about how the gentleness of the notes that paint whimsical, fantasy scenes in one’s head, instead of the harsh scenarios you described. Brandon & Derek Fiechter mewsic is a great fit for some of Disney’s animations I’d think. I’m happy that you enjoyed both my art & mewsic today. Thank you for including me at the start of your day as sip on your morning coffee. Have a blessed Thursday, my friend!
