Skywatch Friday

Skywatch Friday Sunset over Fort Loudon

Good day, kittens and dawgs. Last Friday, I bailed out of Blogosphere. The day was too beautiful to ignore with spring-like weather in our forecast; DH and I hit the open road bound for the Cades Cove in the GSMNP. Hopefully, I’ll find a picture or two to share in an upcoming post. Meanwhile, here’s a revisit from my 2012 archives.

Fort Loudon Lake in Farragut, Tennessee. I snapped this gorgeous sunset with my earlier generation smartphone (iPhone4). She’s was an old gal, but took nice photos.

Using the above photo, I opened it in my Brushstrokes app on my iPad to give it that oil painting appearance.

I’m sharing my photo-art with the SWF team and s-A(R)T-urday.  Now, I’m joining Lexa in Celebrate the small things.

I’m celebrating…

  • less than a month to the first day of spring!
  • slow, but steady progress with my survey participation!
  • getting the chance last Friday to go to the mountains. It was great to get outdoors!
  • the good news received about my FIL. His fractured pelvic is 70%+ healed. That’s outstanding for a man who’s almost 94 years old.

What are you celebrating?

Join the party below!

Let’s begin celebrating with Friendship Friday and Friday Features linky parties where you’re sure to make new friends and get lots of inspiration!

That’s a wrap for now, but if you like music then I invite you to come back for Monday’s Music Moves Me. Have a fototastic weekend!

Lori, It’s nice seeing you at my place. Oh, it’s definitely good news about my soon-to-be 94 year old Father-in-law. God is so good! I’m very ready for spring. We’re experiencing mild, windy weather today. It’s expected to be with with us for a few days before it dips again, but I think after that conditions look very promising. Have a funtastic week, my friend!

That’s great news about your FIL! I hope he continues to recover well. Yay for your survey participation and your mountain trip. I’m going to be wondering all day about what “GSMNP” stands for…

Wonderful news about your FIL!! You must be very relieved.
I LOVE this picture so much. In either form. I have always wanted to get an amazing dock and water shot just like this. Bravo.

You know, I really don’t blame you for bailing on blogging; sometimes you just have to stop what you’re doing and ‘smell the roses.’ That promotes the best creativity in my opinion 🙂

Today I’m celebrating the fact that I’m not in nearly as much pain as yesterday *knock on wood*

That’s a fabulous photo Cathy and I love how you made it look like a painting!
Glad to know your FIL is on the mend. Have a good weekend.

See you Tuesday for BOTB. It’s good to be back!

Debbie, Brushstrokes is a super, easy, and fun app to use. It does a nice job converting a photo to painting. I hope to try printing one of these images to see how it reproduces. If my test sample turns out nicely, then I think I might frame some of my favorites. I’m looking forward to seeing you on March 1st BoTB! 😉

I want to be at the end of that dock with a good book! Such a beautiful photo! Wonderful news about your FIL and here is to a wonderful weekend.

Kisma, I remember when I snapped this picture. It was an absolutely gorgeous evening and the weather was soooo nice. I’m content to stay on solid ground. Going out on the dock doesn’t appeal to me. I’m a bit of a Bathophobe. Let me clarify, that doesn’t mean I’m afraid of bathes. I’m scared of deep water a wee bit. There may be a better word to describe my fear, but Google came back with this label with a definition that fits and it’s an easy word to remember. 😀

I hear ya on the deep water. I don’t mind it, but I’m more afraid of what’s swimming around in it then the fact that’s it’s deep. I would never get in.. Just hang out.

Thanks for sharing and here’s to a fabulous weekend!
