Saturday Songsuasion

Saturday Song-suasion 39: Seal

Today’s featured artist was born to a Nigerian woman and Brazilian man in 1963 on February 19th in London, England. However, a foster family raised the lad. His name is a mix of English and Yoruba. I present to you, Seal Henry Olusegun “my Lord has arrived” Olumide “a crown of wealth” Adeola “God is victorious” Samuel better known as…Seal!

The first song was written by Seal. It released in 1994, climbing to #20, but it re-released in 1995 on the soundtrack, Batman Forever, driving its popularity to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100. It also reached #4 on UK Singles Chart.

Seal’s 2nd single and 4th popular YouTube video comes from his fourth album, Seal IV. It released in 2003, featuring Ukrainian model/actress Olga Kurylenko. In the winter of 2004, it peaked at #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts.

My last song selection features Seal’s ex-wife, the former Victoria Secret hottie, Heidi Klum. This video received more than five million views since its 2010 release. The black and white effect captures the couples partially naked bodies beautifully. Their soft gestures depict the true essence of their deep love and although the video is tastefully done, it’s time to shew the kiddies out of the room.

Thank you for taking time out of your weekend in hopping over to listen to the music! I hope you enjoyed your visit. In fact, I hope you enjoyed it so much that you cannot wait to tell your friends. Go ahead, hit the share (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) button! You know you wanna. 😉

You know the drill. I don’t blog on the weekend, but I welcome friends visiting anytime. Please, be sure to leave your footprints in my comments, so I can return the visit. Have a songsational Saturday!
