Rise Up To Never Stay Down

Rise Up To Never Stay Down

Buildings fell down
Lives forever torn
The world forever stunned
A nation wept
That fatal September morn

 Dazed by surreality
 Our emotions reeled
Shattered lives tear filled eyes
Through the chaos we soared
Doing the unexpected
 It was not a chore.

 Race, religion, nor politics
Made no difference
 Standing shoulder-to-shoulder
 Like brother and sister
We helped one another)

Across this country
Along her borders
Far across the sea
Through prayers and thoughts
 Hearts and hands
Joined in unity

The Evil One did not win
Our Nation weakened?
She became a beacon
Hope, strength, endurance
To all who seek her

Courage and pride
That’s the American way
 Handed from our forefathers
To stand against our enemy
Pushing to rise up to never stay down

I wrote this poem in memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and to every American patriot who continues to live each day without reservation or hesitation in keeping the spirit of our ancestors breathing – protecting the Constitution, the freedom of her people, capitalization (the American Dream), …in short our life – the American way!

Our freedom is precious. This morning to celebrate my personal liberty, I’m going to do this over a cup of coffee while I visit my friends this Tuesday in Blogosphere.  Also, please sSay a prayer for those still healing even after all this time and let those you love know how you feel. Life is simply too short.

Have a good day & God bless America!
