Wordless Wednesday

Price Lake 2014 #BRPW #WW

Welcome Kittens & Dawgs! Autumn is my favorite time of year and while we aren’t seeing too much in the way of fall’s change, I know the upper elevations are surely is making the transition.  In 2014, we had a gorgeous outing and that’s when I snapped the below image.  This spot is generally crammed full of terrorists tourists and there isn’t a lot of parking, either.   We lucked out on this day snagging a place to enjoy a few quick clicks of the shutter before getting molested by the throng of people.

Price Lake on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Blowing Rock North Carolina community. .

Incidentally, this past weekend we were on the BRP in the same area.  The colors were only beginning to show faint yellows.  I think it’ll be a lot better this weekend, so will the crowd. 😩

Go ahead, promote yourself photographs or not, it’s all about the fun anyhow! All I ask in return is to share my tweet below if you can. 😉

[tweetthis]I linked up with Curious as a Cathy for some not-so #WW fun & I invite you join the party! #photography[/tweetthis]

How are the autumn colors shaping up in your area?

Have  you gotten out your coats yet?

Moving along for a bit alphabet fun with ABC Wednesday community for the Letter “O”, as in OPTIMISM!

How’s your outlook these days?  Well, if you’re feeling a bit oppressed then I’m here to get you out of that funk with my outrageous, optimistic YT playlist!

Once again, I used Procreate on my iPad to sketch today’s Scribble Picnic drawing prompt, ‘Bottle’.  The app has a  few texture options that allow me to do things like add wood grain and micro dots. I’m not sure if I like these layers but you decided. Here’s the same sketch without the texturing for a wall or floor.

The pop bottles aren’t spot on. My art lessons are limited to a couple of years in high school with a whole of down time since those days.  Rediscovery my joy for art allows me recreate as the mood hits me and I plan to revisit this theme to try again.

⚡️News flash…⚡️ the rest of the week I need to step away from my cyber life.  DH is using some of the comp time I mentioned in a previous post so that we can tend to a few things around the house but we hope to escape to the mountains for the day, too.  Meanwhile, enjoy my already scheduled posts for the week and you’re invited to join me tomorrow for a mashup of fun with Thursday 2 Questions!

X💋X💋, Cathy

Wow, Girlfriend you made our day! Monty Python is Dave’s favorite and the song is too. We whistled along and laughed our heads off. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hi, Cathy!

Happy ABC Wednesday to you, dear friend!

Thanks for showing me that picture of the pretty fall leaves around Price Lake on the BRP in the Blowing Rock area. It doesn’t matter to me what year you snapped the picture. At this time of year, with temps here in Florida still reaching 90, I am always thankful to see the beauty of autumn as experienced in parts of the country to my north.

Thanks for the optimistic song set. Monty Python’s “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” offers sound advice You cannot stay down in the dumps if you remember to smile, laugh, whistle, dance and sing. As the years go by, I am increasingly aware that Felix, Eddie and The Rascals had more hits with optimistic songs than just about any other artists. “It’s a Beautiful Morning” is a breath of fresh air for your ears. I never heard McCartney’s “Great Day” before. I very much enjoyed it. Now more than ever I am getting into country music and I thoroughly enjoyed the song by David Lee & Kenny. This is also the first time I am hearing Rock Island, Illinois, country folk rock singer Lissie. I see that “Best Days” is the third single released from her 2018 album Castles. I favor female artists and Lissie is one that I am going to follow. Also new to my ears is the rockin’ rendition of “What A Wonderful World” by Joey Ramone of the punk rock band The Ramones, a far cry from the sentimental ballad recorded in 1967 by Louis Armstrong.

I love your pop bottles sketch, Cathy! The first one, with texture added by Procreate, is quite good. It reminds me that my favorite soda as a kid was Grapette. The joy you find in art is infectious.

I hope you and DH can slip away to the mountains again this week and bring back pictures of autumn leaves to post.

Have a great Wednesday and a safe week, dear friend Cathy!
