Our Universe

A solar eclipse once thought of as an omen is now veered simply as a marvel. The universe is an interesting and perplexing thing. There are many things beyond what we can see with the naked eye which tease the mind.

Thanks to modern technology we can see real photographs or computer generated phenomenons occurring in our universe.

While probing the Internet scouting for incredible photographs of our universe, my mind became locked on this video of a black hole sucking up a star larger than our own sun. Watch the computer animation below. Note: The actual event wasn’t as theatrical as the video, but it still leaves the mind fascinated by the entire occurrence.

Nikodem Poplawski theorizes planet earth is actually living inside a black hole inside another universe.

Poplawski believes a black hole acts as a bridge to a new universe.  The article says if one were able to reach a black hole the gravitational pull would actually slow time down, which makes me think of the verse found in 2 Peters 3:8.

“…one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

Could it be very possible, a black hole is the gateway to heaven instead of other universes as Poplawski theorizes?

As a Christian, I know no man can enter heaven by any other means than through the redemption of Jesus’ blood and if a black hole is really the portal to heaven then mankind cannot cross that bridge unless his/her name is written in the Book of Life as described in Revelations 20:15.

Even before the foundations of the world was laid, God knew us (Ephesians 4:1). The marvel of His handiwork was meant for us to awe over and to ponder upon and to study and to seek out the Creator, the One true God who made heaven and earth which reminds me of a popular 70s,

Don’t you wonder why the stars are in the sky?
They’re telling you and I of the glory of God.

I had hoped to find the song to share that the above words I quoted but came up empty handed.  However,  I found the below video which is truly beautiful and worthy of your time to watch.

Now just for fun the fun of it, let me ask these T2Q:

1. Do you think, we are alone in the universe?

2. If we are not alone do you think there is intelligent life elsewhere and would this life form be like us or  E.T. or creatures from MIB?

Please excuse me from class next week, Miss Jenny as I must be away. You see,  I will be enjoying time spent with my DH for our annual staycation. Now y’all be sure to hop over to the Alphabe-Thursday classroom for more homework assignments on the letter ‘U’ and while you are at it why not play along with Miss Amanda in her latest edition of Thursday Two Questions.

I think it would be arrogant to think we are lone in the immensity of the universe.

But I’m a little heebie-jeebie’d out about thinking we might NOT be.

This was a really incredible post, Miss Cathy.

The pictures and shared thoughts were just jaw dropping!

    Thank you for linking.

    A+

Interesting post, and I enjoy watching that video! I read a bit on the Second Coming of God, and to confess to you, I am so not ready to accept that yet, for the sheer fear of God’s agony again!

  • Cheryl D.

Yes, I do feel there are other forms of life in the universe. Common sense tells me they’ve gotta be far more intelligent than life on this planet.

Cathy, even in Genesis other individuals were mentioned besides those of us on earth so I would not be at all surprised if there were other planets with life. But I refuse to believe that we were created by anyone other than God.

    Very interesting post Cathy.

As people, I think we are the only ones as God made us in Genesis.
Same for animals and nature as we know it.

As for other life…I do believe in other planets being made in the heavens, but nothing like earth. I know God has his reasons for all these that he made himself.

I agree with you that even if the black hole is such, no one will be able to go through. It would be like the Tower of babel 🙂

I don’t think we are alone in the sense that I believe in God. Of course, that also means I believe in Satan too. But as for life on other planets? Who knows. I suppose there could be, but did God also create that life? Because if so, it kind of subtracts from the whole notion that we were created in His image. To have fellowship with Him, and for Him to dwell within us. So if there were others like us, or earlier “copies” that He’d made….I kinda wouldn’t feel so special anymore. But perhaps they were created for an entirely different purpose than us: whose to say.
God certainly could have created a universe larger than what our eyes and space gadgets can detect…..But I don’t think there is life out there in other galaxies like the sci fi movies would suggest. I don’t think some alien race is watching us and just waiting to attack or snatch us. I’ve read Revelation and it doesn’t appear to me that will be our fate. In fact, it seems completely contrary to what is written. We are quite capable of bringing about our own destruction.

Earth could not possibly be the only living planet.

I do like that thought about black holes being entrances to other universes. A new perspective on parallel universes!

Thanks for making us think beyond our little planet earth!
But you may be misinformed about scientists as a whole. Our knowledge about the universe is still growing, and a scientist observes, but it does not mean that there is nothing beyond their explanation!
There are many, many, many who are Christians (I know because of my doctorate), only the ones who aren’t, scream so loud that “everyone” thinks that they’re in the majority – which is NOT true!

Hi Cathy, isn’t it funny- SO and I were talking about this the other day. That there are people who thinks we have other lifeforms living among us. And jokingly I said: of course…just take a look around. But really. I don’t think so in that sense, although, I know I am totally wrong.
This was a very interesting post today. I wonder everyday about all the the stuff you mentioned here. The universe, the sun, the stars…how and how and how. Yet, I am not sure if I wanted to know that much about it sometimes, a little mystery left leaves me wondering.

Wonderful photos and videos. I think it must be quiet difficult for a scientist to combine “God in Heaven” when the heaven suddenly became the universe.

    • Cathy Kennedy

There are some Christian scientists, but as a whole scientists are looking for anything and everything, except God in the reasons that will unlock the universe mysteries and our existence. I say, “How can they not see and think there must be a greater power behind all of this splendor?”

I don’t think we are alone in this universe. There has to be some types of aliens somewhere, but I am not ready to face them.

  • Jamie

You found some really cool photos of the Universe. While I don’t believe our planet has ever been “visited” by aliens, I don’t think ours is the only galaxy, and there are probably others with living creatures out there. Interesting theory on the black hole and the bridge to other galaxies. Nice “U” post for Alphabe-Thursday!

  • Jim

Hi Cathy ~~ Like your “U” word, Universe. Neat post this mornin And very clever thinking about the black hole. Of course there is not other way.
    g.
But how about the Sec. ond Coming? Perhaps all of the bodies of the believers may fly through that black hole?
The have to go some place while the rest is having Armagedan. It is a wonder that Tim LaHeye didn’t think of that for his series, “Left Behind.”
    ..
Enjoy your ‘acation.’ We are doing the same except I will do the rest of the alphabet because our lap tops travel with us.
    ..

    • Cathy Kennedy

I believe the Second Coming will be an amazing event and for a brief moment those who are left behind will be stunned by the phenomena. After that, it’ll be forgotten. Some will understand and others sadly will not. At the time of Armageddon then the Saints of the Lord (Christians) will return to have the big show down on earth – good verse evil so-to-speak, but if we know how this will all end, though, don’t we? Enjoy your vacation, my friend!

    • RoryBore

I think the population left behind will use alien abduction as the explanation for the sudden mass disappearance of millions of people world wide. Our culture is already primed and ready to believe in the existence of other life – especially other life forms that want to do us harm.

that sounds like a kinda crazy persons conspiracy theory, but to me, it makes the most logical sense since probably 50% of the world probably does believe in alien life form.
