Monday's Music Moves Me

Michael Grimm Sleigh Bells Not Included

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me!  It’s December again, boys and girls!  This means all month long holiday tunes will spin on the ole virtual turntable.

Today’s featured artist first captured my ear with his audition on AGT in 2010. I knew almost instantly this contestant had a real shot at winning. It turned out I was right. Last year, I stumbled on Michael Grimm’s Christmas album a little too late. I kept a shortcut to his YouTube playlist to share with you today. I hope you enjoy Sleigh Bells Not Included!

1. Louisiana Christmas Day 2. Merry Christmas Baby 3. Please Come Home for Christmas 4. This Christmas 5. Christmas in Dixie 6. Blue Christmas 7. What Christmas Means to Me 8. Everyday Will Be Like a Holiday 9.It’s Christmas Time in New Orleans 10. Celebrate Me Home

This is a music linky party.  Your co-hostess are StacyAlana, and Me.   Every other week we have a suggested music theme to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

DH has the week off from work.  I’m gonna take advantage of this time to step away from Blogosphere to spend it with him.  I’ll catch up with y’all in good time.  I just want to take it easy because December has a way of getting away from me.  I do love the Christmas season.  I’d want to enjoy the moments instead of wishing for them back.  I hope you’ll do the same.  Although, I’m away, I’ll be back on Wednesday with my new mini-series for December, Visiting Christmases Past from old blog posts strictly for your enjoyment.   This is CAAC signing off,  have a boogietastic week! X💋X💋, Cathy

Forgot to add myself to the Linky! Sorry!

I really like Michael Grimm! This is a great album! I’ve added him to the list of people I follow on Spotify.

    Awww, on that cute kitty.

We don’t have television anymore. Just Netflix and Amazon Prime, so we miss this show. I sure like this voice. I can see why he won.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs, my friend. ♥

Great set. I just may have to borrow a couple of these for my Christmas Music Marathon. Thanks for sharing. I must admit, I don’t watch AGT because some of the stuff is so scripted. Michael Grimm is a really good find. Have a blessed week.

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Paw-some 4M Monday, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a nice weekend.

Awww… I just wanna smooch that cute little kitten watching the snow coming down outside the window and hoping he won’t have school tomorrow. 🙂

I decided to make time to listen to your songs and comment before leaving for the clinic, because I am always sleepy when I return and won’t be able to concentrate as well.

I enjoyed this set of holiday songs from Sleigh Bells Not Included by Michael Grimm, a singer who was born in Colorado and raised in Louisiana by his grandparents. Michael is described as a “Mississippi Southern Soul singer” and I can certainly hear why. On several of these holiday songs, especially the first few, Michael reminds me very much of R&B titan Otis Redding. He’s got soul, that’s for sure. I think my favorite here is his cover of “Everyday Will Be Like a Holiday,” a 1967/68 R&B hit by Memphis soul man William Bell. I also love “It’s Christmas Time in New Orleans” with those funky Dixieland jazz horns. Michael Grimm is indeed a wonderful musical discovery and I thank you for showcasing his talent for us this morning.

I need to head out the door now to keep my appointment on the other side of town. Thanks for the Monday musical entertainment. More sounds of the season await you at Shady’s Place, and I invite you over for a look and a listen. I’ll be back to see you on Wednesday. Have a wonderful week, dear friend Cathy!
