Welcome to the 53rd edition of “Meet Me On Monday!”. The weekend is over and a new work week has begun. There’s no reason to look glum. Grab your coffee and join me, as I head over to Java’s niche in cyberspace Never Growing Old.
This is your chance to play along with your readers – a get to know me/you meme. Every Sunday Never Growing Old will post five questions that you can copy and paste into your own Monday post. This gives each of us an opportunity to learn a little more about the other. Java will add a linky for us to join and to follow those who participate. Be sure to link your POST URL, not your main blog address.
Do you have, a suggestion question for Java to use? If so, then send her an email and if she uses it, then she’ll give you recognition for the contribution.
This week Java is asking:
- The thing that scares me the most is __________?
- Do you like nuts in your Chocolate Chip cookies?
- If you couldn’t change the channel, what TV show would drive you from the room?
- Pulp or no pulp in your Orange Juice?
- Who do you miss the most?
My answers…

- The thing that scares me the most is the uncertainty of what’s happening in my children’s lives, especially when I know of there are issues going on. As a Mother, I’d give almost anything to have my grown children to be little again to protect them from all that’s wrong in the world. I feel so helpless and out of reach at times. I can’t pull them close to me to kiss their worries away or to hug them to let them know everything is going to be okay. All I know to do is pray, pray, pray and the rest is in God’s hands.

- I can eat all varieties of chocolate chip cookies but over-all I would say I prefer them plain. Sometimes I get in the mood to shake things up a bit. So, I’ll throw in some pecans and/or coconut. Yum, that’s a delicious addition!

3. What drives me bonkers is my darling husband – the official channel surfer of the family. I mean he can hold the channel two or three seconds; just long enough to get me interested in it and then he switches the channel. This doesn’t drive me out of the room, just drives me out of my mind. lol
4. I love orange juice, especial Florida’s Natural. Why? Just look…the carton proudly displays with an American flag their product is made in the good ole USA. Whoo-hoo!!! Now, back to the question, I can drink OJ either way – with or without pulp. That being said, if I had my choice, though, I’d prefer to have it with pulp.

- At the moment, I’m not missing a who as much as I’m missing a when. For the last three years (this is how long our daughters have been away from home), I’ve been missing yesteryear of when my children were small. Our youngest kiddo is still at home but he’ll be graduating our homeschool high school next spring, then it’s college life and from there the house will be empty. My heart is heavy, as I long for a time which has slipped away forever! Tell me, will this get better?
Have a marvelous Monday!

To answer #5–YES! When those grandchildren come along, you’ll get the chance to do all those wonderful things again and you’ll have a better perspective. I also feel your pain on #1. My youngest daughter just miscarried and it is so hard to watch her go through this. I wish I could just cuddle her up on my lap and rock her pain away.
Wow, a little get to know ya kinda thing…interesting! Love your answers. Mine would be a little offthewall, like me…duh:) But maybe someday when I have more time to blog. Still trying to catch up after my l.o.n.g. road trip east..I’ll come back again in a couple so I can read more of what I missed. Oh, btw…wait till the grand babies come. Opens up a whole new unempty nest:)
