Friday Fun Stuff

Love #humor, Patriotic Farmhouse #SWF, & #Friendly-Fillins

Purrs and hooowdys, Kittens & Dawgs!  Yesterday, in my nostaglic post series, Throw Back Thursday I revisited that popular 70s singluar comic strip, “Love is”. Today, I’m sharing the funnier side of love to bring you, your weekly dose of laughs with my Friday Sillies contribution . Enjoy!

Funny Love One-liners

To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little. To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all. Source link

You know that tingly little feeling you get when you like someone? That’s your common sense leaving your body. Source link

I have never understood why women love cats. Cats are independent, they don’t listen, they don’t come in when you call, they like to stay out all night, and when they’re home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat. Source link

Reader’s Digest Love Humor

Tailored Made

My husband and I couldn’t decide which jacket to buy our granddaughter, so we asked the young salesman.

“If you were buying a jacket for your girlfriend,” I said, “what would you get?”

“A bulletproof one,” he said. “I’m married.”

All Dolled Up

A husband and wife had been married for 60 years and had no
secrets except for one: The woman kept in her closet a shoe box that
she forbade her husband from ever opening. But when she was on her deathbed—and with her blessing—he opened the box and found a
crocheted doll and $95,000 in cash.

“My mother told me that the secret to a happy marriage was to never
argue,” she explained. “Instead, I should keep quiet and crochet a doll.”

Her husband was touched. Only one doll was in the box—that meant she’d been angry with him only once in 60 years. “But what about all this money?” he asked.

“Oh,” she said, “that’s the money
I made from selling the dolls.”

Love jokes

What’s the difference between love and herpes?

Love doesn’t last forever.

Why shouldn’t you marry a tennis player?

Women Love Poems   AT WORK… Michael: Why you white guys always so happy? Casey: Because I make love to my wife every morning before work. Michael: Say whaaat? You get her to make love EVERY morning? How do you do that? Casey: It’s easy, I just say a poem, women love poems and will fall for them all the time. Michael: Ok, what kind of poem can you say to make her make love every morning? Casey: I say, “blonde hair, blonde hair, eyes of blue, I love to wake up and make love to you. Michael: HAHAAA she falls for that? Casey: yes you should try it.   NEXT DAY TYRONE COMES IN WITH BLACK EYE FAT LIP AND A TOOTH MISSING… Casey: What happened to you? Michael: Well, I said a poem to my wife and she didn’t like it. Casey: She didn’t like it??? What did you say?

Michael: Nappy head, nappy head, eyes like a frog, if I could roll your fat ass over I would do you like a dog.

What are you celebrating?

Today, I Celebrate The Small Things  in life such as taking a daytrip to Nashville with DH that I shared with earlier in the week on Cathy Chats. You don’t have to have a lot of money to enjoy being with the one you love.  The biggest expense was gas. It was great to explore a new mall, try Jeni’s ice cream (Milkiest Chocolate & Salty Caramel get two thumbs up), and Five Daughters Bakery donut shop (sorry to report this shop didn’t meet our expectations earning two thumbs down).

I celebrate the generousity of DH. Earlier this week he bought me three blouses and then just the other evening he came home with a cute button down mini skirt. It’s not super short unless you’re 5’10”. I haven’t tried it on yet but it’s appears longer than most of my skirts. Yeah, I like ’em short and does DH. 🙂

I’m celebrating a small life’s obstacle removed and hope it never returns to trip things up again.

I’m celebrating being giddy. Yeah, I have a very good reason for being especially happy but can’t reveal that mews just yet. Hopefully before long I can let the Cathy out of the bag and share it with you! 😉

Switching gears, I’m rounding things out with these Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by the lovely, Annie and Ellen!

  1. October is the perfect time to have lots of hot chocolate loaded with marshmellows!
  2. Halloween is not my favorite holiday, in fact, I can totally do without it…except for the candy. I’m all for the candy!
  3. Every October, I  begin planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas, stocking the pantry with menu items, figuring out greeting cards, and presents for family.
  4. My experience with the supernatural world is limited to TV shows and movies. The only time I had a weird encounter is when a duplicate necklace appeared along side mine. I picked it up and examined it making sure my eyes weren’t tricky me, then layed it down but when I went back to get it to show DH it was gone. Was it a dream or it did it really happen? That will be a mystery I’m sure to not solve.

That’s a wrap for now but I hope to see you on the dance floor for freebie mewsic pick on Mondays Mewsic Moves Me!

X💋X💋, Cathy

Love the All Dolled Up joke! so funny! Yep, that’s about right…
Can’t wait to hear your surprise. I have a guess but I won’t say here…

And wow, that’s really bizarre about the extra necklace! Maybe someday the mystery will be solved. If that day comes, do share!

      Michele,

After I published my CTST with the announcement of a surprise I thought some are sure to think certain things like perhaps a grandbaby on the way as I suspect you’re thinking but that’s not it. Although that definitely would be a real surprise with my only married child not interested in starting a family and the other two aren’t married. 🙂

      Sandee,

Everyone needs some laughs and I’m certainly glad I stumbled upon Silly Sunday. What a purrfect tie in with my Friday Sillies edition! Thanks for the return visit, my friend. 🙂

      Cynthia,

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. I’m glad you enjoyed the giggles. Feel free to dop by any time and thanks for rockin’ with the 4M gals this week! 🙂

Thank you for the return visit. Who doesn’t like Peanuts and some giggles? If you like dancing, then join me for Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me! Have a good afternoon! 😉

      Peter,

You just never know when you’ll stumble on a nice picture to capture. That’s the way it turned out with the farmhouse capture. We stopped to look at the GPS and I noticed this old home with the flag waving. I used my iPhone to get the shot, stretching, and straining to twist my body in position. I think the reason I did hop out to take is there were big dogs nearby and they really scare me but the photo turned out ok. Thanks for dropping by and I’m glad you enjoyed the “love” giggles!

  • messymimi's meanderings

You have really had me laughing today! A friend of mine says you can look at his college transcript and tell which semester he met his wife-to-be.

That’s a lovely skywatch picture, and wonderful small things to celebrate. Except for trading candy with other moms by way of our kids, i could do without Halloween, too.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Mimi,

Oh yeah, I bet when kids are dating in the college years you can see the evidence in the transcripts. lol I was already married when I began college so I didn’t have courtship to interfere with my studies. lol

  • David E. McClendon Sr.

Love the jokes. I was not expecting what happened to Michael. I thought he would say the poem Casey said and she would hurt him for that. Have a blessed week. I agree that the candy is the best part of Halloween.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      David,

Yeah, I was expecting Micheal to recite the same poem which would ensure he’d be in trouble with the wife but his poem absolutely killed me with laughter! 🙂

  • 15andmeowing

I love the joke with the lady crocheting dolls 🙂 Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, I enjoyed your answers. That is a scary supernatural story. Have a great weekend!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Ellen,

All Dolled Up is hilarious, isn’t it? My encounter with the supernatural was just that once but it’s stayed with all these years. It was just strangely weird!

  • Suzanne Gunter McClendon

Oooh surprises! I can’t wait to hear your surprise. 🙂

How nice of your dh to get those gifts for you.

Your post got us both to laughing this morning, which is much appreciated. It has been a most frustrating morning all around thanks to a few people not following through on what they said they’d do. This too shall pass.

That necklace incident sounds like a very interesting experience! Some spooky was trying to gaslight you…naughty spooky!

    Have a blessed weekend!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Suzanne,

There’s nothing like laughter for the soul. It does one good to get wrap up with some humor after disappointing mews. Oh yeah, the necklace incident is creepy and nothing like that has happened since that time!

      • Suzanne Gunter McClendon

I’m glad that necklace incident has never happened again. It would be interesting to find out what on earth (or otherworldly!) caused that to happen!

I agree with you about laughter. There’s been an awful lot sent our way to laugh about lately, mixed in with the annoying bits. 🙂

        Have a blessed day!

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Ladyfi,

I apologize, I’m just now seeing that you stopped by last week. I guess I got too busy. Anywho, thanks for visiting and I’ll see you soon!

  • McGuffy's Reader

You are funny! These are great. And, I love Peanuts, so! Yea, Snoopy!

I agree with your answers. What is up with that necklace, though? It must mean something, even if only a dream. That is so weird! It makes me also wonder about your necklace. What is its story?

    thank you, my friend! Hugs.

    • Cathy Kennedy

      Annie,

Yeah, the necklace thing is weird. I in the past I’ve had dreams so real that I questioned if the events happened or not. Maybe, this was one of those times. That stands to be the most logical explanation because I don’t believe it parallel worlds or ghosts or such but…it is kind of fun to think what if there are such things? 🙂
