Monday's Music Moves Me

Kiss On My List

A kiss for DH to start his day or maybe it’s the other way around. 🙂 Awww Mondays hosted by Comedy Plus

Thanks for swinging by the Monday’s Music Moves Me party.  This week on the dance floor the theme is whatever music moves you!  Not long ago, a post from several years back had a broken link that needed removing, giving me the inspiration needed for today’s playlist.  With tomorrow being Valentine’s Day, I’m going out on a limb with this prediction but I think there’s going to be a lot of kissing going on and if not seriously there should be. Anyway, using kiss (or other forms) as my keyword in my song searches and I picked 10 titles. Some are new but most I know.  Click play to enjoy the set!

Playlist tracks: 1. Kiss On My List ~Hall & Oates 2. It Started With A Kiss ~Hot Chocolate 3. French Kissin’ in the USA ~Debbie Harry 4. Butterfly Kisses ~Bob Carlisle 5. Passionate Kisses ~Mary Chapin Carpenter 6. Kiss You All Over ~Exile 7. Just A Kiss ~Lady Antebellum 8. Kiss Goodbye All Night ~Drake Milligan 9. Tender Kisses ~Tracie Spencer 10. A Thousand Kisses Deep ~Leonard Cohen

Tom from SPMM shared Debbie Harry’s “French Kissin’ in the USA” within days of me getting the idea for this post. It puzzled me how this song didn’t hit my radar for decades.  I knew I wanted to include it in my playlist. Thanks Tom for the reminder!

Do you routinely participate in the art of kissing?  How many kisses do you give or receive each day?

This is a music linky party. The co-hostesses are listed in my side menu.   Every other week we have a suggested music theme to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts.  Themes aren’t mandatory to gain access to the dance floor but failure to meet the basic guideline (post must contain music) puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

To ensure a lot of kissing takes place tomorrow, then I encourage you to surprise your significant other with something little (or big) to remind him/her of your love.  I plan to make DH raspberry thumbprint cookies but don’t let the Cathy out of the bag. 😉

Coming up next, I’m serving up a double header on Wednesday with my mid-month BOTB showdown set for 6am and at 3pm, my next installment from my Maine photo memories series.  I hope to see you around.  This is CAAC signing off,  have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

Kisses–the best kind of post. My favorite song of the set was Leonard Cohen’s. He has such an unusual voice, and I don’t like all of his songs I’ve heard, but this one was wonderful. Some favorites and a number I’ve never heard. What this world needs now is a lot more love and kisses and a lot less of what else is happening. Alana ramblinwitham

As it should be, the King of the Jungle is bowing to his Queen. Great play list. I was a huge fan of Mary Chapin Carpenter, back in the day, and Bob Carlisle’s “Butterfly Kisses” was an instant classic. Have a blessed Valentine’s Day.

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Paw-some 4M Monday, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a nice weekend.

Awww… look at those smooching kitties! Gosh, I just noticed that they are very big kitties. I think I’ll keep my distance and avoid interrupting their bliss. 😋

I enjoyed your block of smooch songs to celebrate V-Week. I know the British soul band Hot Chocolate, but never heard “It Started With A Kiss.” I see that the 1982 single topped the chart in Belgium, reached #2 in New Zealand and top 5 in the UK. It was released in the U.S. in March of 1983 but failed to chart.

I’m thrilled that one of my recent posts inspired you to share Debbie Harry’s great but seldom heard solo single “French Kissin’ In The U.S.A.” The more I listen to that song, the more I like it. I have known about country – folk singer Mary Chapin Carpenter since she emerged on the music scene in the late 80s, and have seen her perform on various TV shows. “Passionate Kisses” is a cute song. I like it mainly because the tone is not overly mushy and sentimental like countless other songs about romance and intimacy.

I really enjoyed hearing “Kiss You All Over” in this set. Recorded and released in 1978 by the Kentucky soft rock band Exile, “Kiss You All Over” was a massive hit that topped the pop chart in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand, making it the most successful single of their career. The band also had a string of chart-topping country hits in the 80s.

Lady Antebellum, now called Lady A, has a great sound. I like everything they have released over the late 15+ years, and the song and video you posted, “Just A Kiss” is another winner. The 2011 single topped the country chart and the Easy Listening chart and also made a run at the top 5 on the pop chart, which to me illustrates that the band’s style is well suited for the 21st century pop and Adult Contemporary charts and that they should not be considered strictly a country music act.

The most exciting discovery this morning is Iowa R&B/Soul singer and songwriter Tracie Spencer, an artist with physical beauty to match her voice and spirit. Tracie is right in the groove with her smooth, sophisticated “quiet storm” song “Tender Kisses,” a 1991 single that topped the R&B chart and is her biggest R&B hit to date. Tracie made the top 3 on the pop chart with her 1990 release “This House,” making that record her biggest crossover single.

I’m sure DH will love those raspberry cookies you plan to make for him. Thanks for the Monday morning smooch tunes. I’ll be over to see you Wednesday for your doubleheader. If your Maine post doesn’t drop until midafternoon, I might not be able to read and comment until much later or, most likely, the following morning when I am fresher, as I’m sure you understand. In the meantime, I invite you to celebrate V-Week with me at Shady’s Place. The doors swung open this morning on Austin Powers’ annual Valentine dance party and you’re invited. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your special sweetie DH, dear friend Cathy!
