It’s Cold & Snowy This “Meet Me On Monday”!

It’s a frigid Monday with four inches of snow on the ground.  This is the first winter in many years for us to get so much of the white fluff which actually amounted to anything more than flurries or a dusting.

Everything about this morning got delayed.  The city wasn’t prepared to combat the elements.  The interstate system was extremely hazardous this morning at 5 am which meant my husband couldn’t go to work.  He finally left at 9:30 on snow-covered streets to go to the office.  Once, he reached the main road everything was ok. My biggest concern is with snow falling there’s always a chance sleet or freezing rain might develop under these circumstances.  That’s some serious stuff.  I hope my DH makes it home later okay.

As cold and snowy as it is, we shouldn’t forget it’s time to play this week’s meme, “Meet Me On Monday”.  Java’s questions for this gray, snowy Monday are:

1. Have you (only you..not a group) ever won first place in anything?  Sigh, I don’t recall EVER taking first place in anything. Okay, can I count taking first place with my husband?  I mean, I feel like I’ve won the big prize when we married.  He’s such a wonderful, adorable, considerate, loving, passionate, funny, intelligent man. If you give me time, I can come up with a few more adjectives to describe him. 
2. Are your toes always painted (sorry guys…this question for girls only)?  This is one thing I do on the rarest of events.  I mean, you’ll have a better chance of seeing a pig fly before you’ll catch my toenails painted.  Once upon a time I indulged myself in this manner, but not anymore.  I’m doing good, if I can keep my fingernails properly groomed.

3. What color eyes do you have?  My eyes are hazel-green, but I can’t find a good example of this color and since I do not have any photos of myself on this computer then you’ll have to use your imagination.  I definitely have more green in my eyes than brown. When the light hits my eyes just right, then the green really stands out beautifully.  Wearing my Loreal Autumn Brown eye shadows are totally complimentary to my eyes’ color, too. I love, love these colors which my DH picked out for me!  Didn’t I tell you, he’s my prize?

4. Look to your left….what do you see? Just to my left is the dining room window with the blinds still pulled closed.  Not too exciting, huh?

5. Soft cookies or crunchy cookies?  For the most part, I prefer soft cookies.  However, when I bake cookies it’s inevitable for me to produce some crunchy cookies in the batch.  I enjoy eating those when they first come out of the oven before they get too brittle or to have later with coffee for dipping. Yum!
