Wordless Wednesday

In the valley #photo

Welcome Kittens & Dawgs! It’s so nice to see you today. I am participating in the April A-Z Blog Challenge. In order to get ready, then I am rolling all of my photo contributions into this one post and I’m temporarily suspending my featured photographer nomination from here until April 30.

Now, I invite you to link your direct URL to your photo posts below regardless if it’s Wordless Wednesday or another photo hop.

Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains
In the valley of the Smoky Mountains lays the Cades Cove community. It was a gorgeous late winter day, but the temperatures reminded me of spring.
Deer in the woods at Cades Cove
Nearing the end of the 11-mile one-way loop road into the Cades Cove community this little doe bid us goodbye or so I like to think.

I’m sharing today’s post….

Lexa is the hostess of  Celebrate the Small Things. This week I’m celebrating the return of spring. It’s been rather windy, but the temperatures nice. We’ll see more stable conditions after the calendar flips over again. Another thing I’m celebrating is preparing for the #AprilA2Z challenge. This meme takes a lot of time but it’s quite fun and I love researching the daily alphabet prompt for my theme. This year I’m going with All Things Vintage and ask that you join me on the first. Feel free to subscribe to my blog via email (see sidebar for sign-up) so that you don’t miss a single post! What are you celebrating?

Have a fototastic day!

Brushstrokes app creation of doe bids goodbye
Using the previous photo, I created this oil-like painting in Brushstrokes and am sharing it with the s-A(R)T-urday group

I highly recommend and use these photo-editing programs: Pixelmator,  Adobe Photoshop Elements, Affinity, Brushstroke, and Waterlogue. You can learn more about these using the above affiliate search app widget.

You can see the doe better in the edited image. Although, that might just be my monitor. It was a bit windy here, too, yesterday.

Alexa, thank you for visiting. I’m delighted with spring’s arrival. The earth is bursting forth with new life again and that makes me happy. I honestly believe this is what our Creator intended after a long, cold, gray months of winter to remind us that we can have new life through His son.

The first picture reminds me of a western and the post in front looks like a hitching post. Love the 2nd picture and I didn’t see the doe at first. You seem quite close to her. I love the artistic styling you created with that picture-pretty cool

Birgit. Cades Cove is a pioneer community. It definitely had its share of horses & while that fence isn’t a hitching post I’m sure it may served as one provided it was standing in those days. I kinda doubt it was, since it’s fair condition. The deer is hard to see with the exposure so low. I didn’t properly account for the shade, but at the very least I got a picture.

I think I have to add Smoky Mountains to my Bucket List of things to photography Live in Person. It so gorgeous. I just love how they lay there on the horizon. It’s so different my own landscape… maybe that’s the fascination. Oh look, A Doe.. A deer…. A Female Deer!!! LOL Couldn’t resist. Love the edit. I may have to try brushstrokes on some of my maple syrup day photos for Saturday Art too.

Les, You crack me up with your impromptu singing there, girlie. Perfect. Yes, you must try Brushstroke. I use it with my iPad, but it works on the iPhone, too. It’s a fun app! We occasionally spot Canadians in the mountains, and I always say, “They’re a long way from home!” You definitely need to visit the Smoky’s at least once in your life. It truly is a beautiful place. The south end of Blue Ridge Parkway is on the other side of the mountain in Cherokee, North Carolina. There’s a lot to see and do in a relatively short distance. Thanks for popping in!

Claudia, Cades Cove is a quiet place even when it’s bustling with tourists. The mountains surrounding the valley seem to swallow the noise made my man and machine, but when the cove has very little traffic then the silence is even more amazing…almost deafening. I love it when we can casually drive around the loop to soak up the tranquility and to connect with God in a special way.

Loved the oil painting effect which you have given to the pic!
Have fun with the A-Z challenge 🙂
Even I will be participating in it!
