Ice! Polar Express Display at Gaylord Opryland Nashville TN

Polar Express Soundtrack

Th building for the Ice! Polar Express display was kept at 9º.  After a few seconds in there my brain froze over and fingers didn’t work too well. I’m keeping this as wordless as possible. Enjoy the presentation!

What’s up this week, aside cooking…tomorrow, I pulled together a new TAD post and if I don’t forget, I plan to announce the winner in my mid-month BOTB, What Child Is This showdown on Friday.  Have a wild and wonderful day but make time to enjoy this gorgeous blessed holy season! X💋X💋, Cathy

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Wild, Wacky and Almost Wordless Wednesday, dear friend! It’s now Thursday, and I am officially back for my three day December stint in Bloggerville. I hope you are well and in good spirits. I also hope that LA and her mommy have bounced back from their recent illness and that the new addition to the family is healthy and happy.

What a spectacle to see ice sculpture on such a grand scale! Like you, I am amazed how the artist or artists were able to focus on their intricate craft in 9 degree cold. At least you and DH didn’t have any wind chill to contend with inside that building, or else you really would have been frozen to the bone without those complimentary parkas. I’m so glad you made it over to N-ville to see this amazing seasonal exhibit.

My final post of 2023 is now up and running, and I hope you can come over for a visit. Don’t miss the very last video, “More Than A Monster.” It’s something special.

Happy holidays to you and your family, dear friend Cathy!

      Tom,

You’re right about the wind chill. If we had to deal with that, we would’ve been people pops! We’ve been outdoors in single digit windy conditions and oh man, oh man is that awful!! LA1 is well at the moment. DD1 has a lingering nasty cough from Covid and still worn out but that’s to be expected when a person can’t fully recoup. It’s just going to take her a little longer to feel like herself again. We healthy so that’s a blessing. Thanks for taking time to include me in your blog visit rounds today. Have a joyful Christmas, dear friend!

We certainly have seen 9 degrees F before, but not usually until January or February. That’s REALLY cold! Those are beautiful ice sculptures, so it was worth a little suffering. 😉

We had a great time. If we ever do something like this again, I’m going to make sure I have some really good gloves that’ll work with my iPhone. I was pretty much okay except for my fingers. The rest of me was layered pretty well. They handed out parkas to anyone wanting to take them which most did but I am not going to wear something that thousands of people have worn before me. We no doubt were the only people probably to refuse them but you don’t know what you’ll pick up. I’m sure everyone is like, “You’re so weird!” That’s fine, I’m quite happy (and probably healthier for it) in my weirdness. lol

Gaylord Opryland is massive! We got lost on our way back to the car. We walked up to some young girls’ who were restaurant hostess and we declared that we were lost. I asked if they could find my mommy. lol I’m glad we were inside the resort. The temperature wasn’t bad at all in there. I’d love to stay there if it weren’t so darn expensive.:)

      Nicole,

I haven’t seen the movie but I always wanted to see ice sculptures in person. The artwork is so fascinating. To have that kind of skill to work with ice just blows my mind. When I get rock solid frozen food containers from the freezer it hurts my hands, so I marvel at how these artist create masterpieces out of ice. Thanks for visiting!
