For me, you have to do the “Blue skies” section right. Georgeana Bonow did it right. That’s my vote!

Great song and both versions are very nice. My preference is Georgeana Bonow. She reminds me of Basia who I used to enjoy listening to back in the nineties.

Great funnies. I like the skunk one, it reminds me of how we thought our Emmy was a skunk. 🙂 I choose TML. Have a nice weekend. XO

    Howdy, CAThy! It’s That You?!

I’ve always liked this song a lot, and hadn’t heard it for quite awhile.

Initially, I didn’t really care for Georgeana Bonow’s voice – it was too little girl cutesy for me. But as the song went on, I got more accustomed to it, and then the song picked up nicely with the electric organ addition near the end.

The Moon Loungers was fine but I felt it was kind of bland by comparison. So, my vote goes to Georgeana Bonow.

My brother Napoleon, however, liked both recordings but leaned slightly toward The Moon Loungers. So, my input is split: ONE BOTB BOTE FOR EACH ARTIST.

    Bless And Be Blessed!!

      Hello Stephen!

Yes, it’s me! Is that you? LOL

I love it when you bring a brother to my battles. I have you down for Georgeana and bro Napoleon for The Moon Loungers. 🙂

      Thanks, y’all!

Hi Cathy, thanks for the cute funnies. ☺ As for the battle, my vote goes to the folksy vibe of The Moon Loungers. I didn’t care for Georgeana’s vocals. Enjoy your weekend!

    Hi Cathy!

Interesting battle. While I like both of your contenders, I think Georgeana gives the song much more life. Her song seems to have more ‘happiness’ to it, and if one can truly see clearly, wouldn’t they be more happy? The Moon Loungers were pretty good, but I didn’t feel the optimism in their outlook with their clearer vision. This is why I’m casting my vote for Georgeana.

Georgiana gets my vote because she is more uplifting while the guy sings it kind of on a one note making me bored. I love the first funny with the skunky…How much you want to bet this may have actually happened? Have a wonderful weekend.

      Kathe,

This battle is definitely more evenly matched over my last with the votes coming in alternating between the two contenders. The Moon Loungers gets your vote.

  • Sandee

The battle is most difficult for me. I like both of them for different reasons, so I’ll just go for the feel good. My vote is for Georgeana Bonow. It was far more happy and feel good.

    Love all the funnies.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

    Hi, Cathy!

Happy Friday Sillies and BOTB Day, dear friend!

It’s nice of you to remember Johnny Nash, a reggae/pop/soul singer who enjoyed his greatest success in the U.S. in the late 60s and early 70s. In your band battle, my head is about to explode, because the covers of Johnny’s signature song “I Can See Clearly Now” recorded by the two competing mewsic acts are so closely matched. Truth be told, I like both versions you presented better than the original. The Moon Loungers, a wedding band from Bristol, England, have a retro sound reminiscent of the early Beatles and bands of the The British Invasion that performed mellow acoustic ballads. I appreciated the straightforward simplicity and glorious harmonies on their version However the rendition of the song performed by Portuguese artist Georgeana Bonow conveys more joy and optimism. The arrangement cooks with Latin fire and Georgeana’s vocals are sweet, smooth and spirited. In a return to predictability, I’m going with the female artist this time and giving my vote to contestant number one: Georgeana Bonow!

Looks like that meme kitty can see clearly now as he gazes out the widow. Mrs. Shady and I allow our stray black cat into the house on winter days and nights. The first thing he does when he gets in out of the cold is to longingly look out the window to make sure he’s not missing anything. 🙂 I got a kick out of the old lady undergoing an eye exam and thinking she was on Wheel of Fortune.

Thanks, dear friend Cathy, and have a safe and happy weekend!

      Tom,

Thanks for being the early voter in my BoTB round 2 for 2021! I loved your analysis of the two artists in this showdown. I have your vote locked in for Georgeana Bonow! That’s funny about the stray kitty that you allow indoors when it’s cold. Have a good weekend, my friend!
